  1. I guess Belling should be the GM now, he's a genius. But really, the only move I would consider somewhat feasible would maybe be moving Yo into the rotation...in mid-August or so, for maybe Bush or Vargas, not Capuano or Suppan. I think those two will right themselves to being 2 games or so above .500 the rest of the way in games they start, which would be enough for me, provided Sheets continues to put up and the team continues winning in Vargas' starts.
  2. Yeah the blues are technically "cooler", and cooler if you ask me. Grey's are boring. I thought I've seen both teams wearing alternates before? Maybe that was just in video games, probably was.
  3. Saw the video on ESPN, nice gesture by the Phils, though in that situation you'd hope anyone would help out since the way that wind was blowing it could have taken on of the groundscrew with the tarp.
  4. For anyone who's been a Brewer fan for an extended period of time, setting indiviual players performances as of late aside, I think that looking at things as a whole should be enough for one to be ecstatic. The Crew is 49-39 going into the All-Star break with a 4.5 game lead OVER the 2nd place team. We have no one in front of us, keeping us from the playoffs. It's up to the team to keep doing what they've done so far and we'll taste our first postseason in decades. Today's 6th inning aside, today should be a great day for any Brewer fan to sit back and enjoy the position we're in.
  5. I'm a little surprised he's not starting Jenks also. Oh well, if we can get to 50 before the break I could really careless who was in the lineup today. How about a 3-run 1st and actually keeping the lead the entire game? I'll say Cappy goes 6IP, 3ER, 4K, 2BB. And for the fun of it, 1-2 at the plate with an RBI.
  6. I'd be interested also!
  7. What did Rollins' get to last year? The one that carried over from the year before? I forget.
  8. At 18-24, this club now has the fifth worst road record in the NL. And at 30-13 they have the best home record in the NL. Heck, with the way the Brewers have been on the road in the past, 18-24 isn't so bad. Like they say, win at home and try to go .500 on the road. Six under is close enough for me. And in all honesty, the way they play at home, I don't see why they can't go about 25-13 at home the rest of the way, which would put them at 55-26 at home, plenty to cover their road play. Look at it this way too, say they go 22-16 the rest of the way at home, that's still 51-30, and hopefully they can pull off atleast 16-23, so 34-47 on the road the rest of the season, that puts them at 85-77, which I would think would put them on top of the division. Loud noises?
  9. Braun went 0-3 today...and is still hitting .340.
  10. I think they are generic images...generic but modeled off of real players on the team at the time enough so that people would think it could be them but at the same time if they got traded, it doesn't have to be.
  11. All I can say is I'm glad Larry Harris isn't the GM of the Brewers.
  12. 2nd thought on the '90 program was Hamilton, but I'm not sure if he was cover worthy, so I'll go with Sheff. And like someone said #2 does have that Yount swing, and the moustache-ish thing looks Yount like. ...and the more I look at it, the more I think that might possibly be a 5 on #3 for 15 for Cooper.
  13. My first thoughts when I looked: 1. Sheffield? Not sure, don't remember if he was there in '90. 2. My guess would be a somewhat exaggerated rendition of Yount. 3. I kind of thought Cooper also, but the number looks like a 0, 3, 6, 8 or a 9 to me. Maybe with a number in front of that one too since it looks kinda to the right.
  14. In a money-less world I would throw it back, just like any other opposing player's HR ball I'd catch. Plus it would just be extra sweet to throw that one back. But...I need to pay for college and I'm sure #755 or 756 would more than pay for that.
  15. 1. Sheets - not as many K's as usual, more W's than usual and I'll take that anyday 2. Cordero - slipping lately, but 27 S and 3 BS is excellent 3. Villanueva - Mr. Reliable when we need a few innings to catch up or when knotted up 4. Turnbow - ups and downs are better than all downs like the last half or so of last season 5. Gallardo - only a few starts and has been impressive, should be 3-0, ignoring today's relief appearance 6. Capuano - generally ok, pretty impressive first five or so starts, hopefully he can get back to where he was 7. Wise - he is what he is and does pretty well with it, like him better when he comes in with the bases empty 8. Vargas - bottom line is that the team, mostly, wins when he starts, whatever it is I'll take it, somewhat taxes our bullpen 9. Suppan - eh, not too shabby for awhile, lately, very shabby 10. Bush - Take the guy out after the 5th, no questions asked 11. Spurling - ERA isn't bad, hasn't been terrible but... 12. Shouse - Our lefty specialist. Unfortunately the odds of him getting that lefty out lately are slim to none and then Ned leaves him out there to face the righties, and without looking at stats, seems to me does somewhat better against
  16. Rough day. The defense hurts. Oh well, get 'em tomorrow and we know Thursday is a win anyways...
  17. 4/9 positions have an error. Might as well go for 9/9 if the Crew doesn't make up some ground next inning.
  18. Internship/know someone/get any type of job at the stadium and make friends with the right people.
  19. Are you sure, I always though 5 B's averaged out to an A? Guess not. I didn't think 5 B's was a fair enough assessment of the team so I gave 'em an A overall, taking into account other things like how sweet it is to watch Jenkins ditch his big wad of chew after he crushes one off the scoreboard.
  20. Thought it would be fun to see how everyone would grade the Brewers performance in several areas based on the first half. Six Categories:Offense, Defense, Starting Pitching, Bullpen, Management and Overall For me: Offense: B+ Defense: B Starters: B Bullpen: B Management: B- Overall: A-
  21. If they have a fan vote again I'd say it would be hard for Braun not to get chosen...
  22. When will Villy replace Vargas in the rotation? I'm still not sure why people want Vargas replaced in the rotation. Sure, he's good for 4 2/3 innings, 5 2/3 on a good day it seems, but the bottom line for me is that when he starts, the team wins. Another plus is that even with him pitching 4+ to 6 innings a game, the bullpen, when the rotation is setup with Vargas 5 and Sheets 1, will have relief the next day in most cases. If we're going to talk about CV taking anyones spot in the rotation I would say Bush. That is if Bush continues to be inconsistent. Otherwise I see nothing wrong with having CV and Yo in the pen ready for long relief in a Vargas, Bush, or occasional Suppan start.
  23. I can't believe Scott Boras thinks he can change the World Series. YOU ARE AN AGENT. Seven is just right for the WS. Five is too short, nine is too many. I'm ok with the 5-7-7. 7-7-7 would be alright also. I wish the seven games in the WS were 2-2-1-1-1 though. Not a huge fan of 2-3-2. I understand why they do the 2-3-2 but really prefer alternating the last three games.
  24. Plus Young took a hefty swing at Lee, didn't make contact, but enough for me to throw a few votes his way when I have some free time... Not to mention 8 wins, a 2.14 ERA and a 1.09 WHP going into tonight. Along with the fact he is on a team that is staying on top of a surprisingly good division this year.
