  1. Is Gamel technically on the MLB 15 day DL?
  2. 13 outta 25 according to TH. I don't know why I put Rivera so high. I also must have forgot about Vargas.
  3. Dave Krynzel is the one for me. Speedy CF, could bat leadoff if he didn't K so much. Lefty bat in the lineup. He had some pop from time to time. A series of stupid decisions ended his career prematurely. I still remember that catch where he robbed a home run at Miller Park. I want to say it was in May for some reason against the Cardinals. I can't seem to find it on Google (granted I didn't look that hard). I thought that was it. Hes going to be good. Then he breaks his collar bone racing motorcycles in Las Vegas and doesn't tell the Brewers....
  4. 1. Ryan Braun 2. Prince Fielder 3. Yovani Gallardo 4. Casey McGehee 5. Alcides Escobar 6. Rickie Weeks 7. Craig Counsell 8. Mike Rivera 9. Todd Coffey 10. Mitch Stetter 11. Dave Bush 12. Trevor Hoffman 13. Mark DiFelice 14. Matt Gamel 15. Carlos Villanueva 16. Braden Looper 17. Jody Gerut 18. Jason Bourgeois 19. Josh Butler 20. Juan Uribe 21. Chris Narveson 22. Brian Anderson 23. Clay Buchholz 24. Josh Bard 25. Jason Marquis Hardy and Hart traded for Anderson and Buchholz. Parra traded for someone who doesn't make the 25 man roster. Suppan cut. Yes, both Melvin and Macha return. I tried going for what Melvin would do in finding possible nuggets like a Uribe.
  5. I've heard from a few people I know that worked close to the players back in the day that said they knew Jenkins took steroids. He doesn't surprise me.
  6. USA USA USA.... now only if we can keep 11 men on the field. Although, the Bradley challenge wasn't a red. And just remember... Altidore will only be 20 during the World Cup next year. If we win (which is a huuuuuuuge IF), he can't even come home and have a beer.
  7. The Hurricane is here... http://www.nashvillesounds.com/news/news.asp?newsId=2987
  8. I wouldn't say baseball is changing, I'd more put it as a changing of the guard. We are so used to the Maddux's, Glavine's, Sosa's, Griffey's and Bond's of the world and now it's changing to Braun, Grienke, Lincecum, Howard, and Longoria. Maybe managers aren't looking to hit as many 3 run bombs anymore, but when Billy stepped to the plate in Hou, I bet Macha was thinking, "How sweet would it be in Billy went yard right here?" The homeruns will be hit, the web gems will still happen, its baseball. The only part thats changing is how far the baseball is flying. Bonds used to crush homeruns, steroids or not, the ball was a home run, just it went a lot farther. Sure he got some cheap home runs because of the 'roids, but thats not what I'm getting at. The only era thats changing, imo, is who is playing the game. The household names are starting to retire and the new kids on the block are taking over.
  9. I was at New Busch in Sept of '07. It was cool. I personally thought Miller Park was better, but there was a lot of untapped potential. At the time there were a lot of open concourse areas that might be filled now. I sat in the bleachers almost directly down the RF line and had a pretty good view. Outside the stadium is pretty cool. I'd walk around a little bit before going in. Their hot dogs were pretty good. Depending where you are before wanting to go to the game, taking their train system is probably the easiest. Drops you off like 5 feet from the stadium and only costs like a buck or two to ride round trip. Its a pretty cool place, you'll have fun.
  10. I get my HD for free. It just has to do with the box you have. Since I have the sports package (which includes all those 103-whatever channels with ESPNEWS, FSC etc.) I need a box anyway for like 7 bucks a month plus the remote for 1 or something like that. But when I got my HDTV a few years ago and switched boxes, I was able to get ESPNHD and FSNHD and like National Geographic HD or whatever is past 531 without an extra charge. You can't get ESPNHD etc. without a box, so I guess theres your catch. But you don't have to pay extra if you already have a box and want to switch to an HD box. Its already in your bill.
  11. If Bonds' record were to be knocked down or erased, does that mean Big Mac's 70 is gone too and Roger Maris is still the single season HR king? I like that Bud is thinking about it, but until a plan is completely thought out and well defined, I hope Bud keeps *thinking* about it before something goes terribly wrong.
  12. I saw Doug Melvin and some college kids (either like interns or his son with some buddies) at Wendy's for lunch back in July on Miller Park Way. Doug has a sweet Benz.
  13. For me, its one thing to watch a 2 run monster shot that brings your team to within 7 in a 10-3 game than to watch a shot that wins the game or puts your team up in the bt 8/ tp9. But to say we never do it is sooooo dumb. Pujols does it all the time. I was at a Stl Hou game while I was in StL last year in September and Ankiel hit a monster shot and the cards were up like 5 and he walked to first. Thats cool. But Billy Hall hits a bomb to complete a comeback in the top of the 9th with 2 outs and walks it out isn't cool. And no one would be talking about the Villa Pujols thing if the Brewers woulda won. So Villa gets excited, I would too. Thats a huuuuuge situation right there. He gets pumped doesn't do anything out of the ordinary and Pujols gets pissed. But when Prince K's to end the game with JJ on 2nd, Molina jumps so freakin high in the air like he won the World Series and thats totally cool. So LaRussa.... why don't we ban all celebrating and make people machines to please everyone. P.S..... I was NOT mad Molina did that, just pointed it out.
  14. 1) As noted, I love how Carlos is a journeyman.... ok traded when he was like what 18 and in A ball, but has been with us since... ok? 2) Carlos didn't point into the dugout at all. He got pumped and kinda did the double pump n yell with his head down. He started throwing his hands up when Pujols said (and from what I could read of Albert's lips, which I got almost every word) "Shut the F up and go back to your dugout.... Shut the F up!" I'd throw my hands up too if someone told me to shut the F up when I stopped you from scoring when you had the bases loaded. Granted, they won the game, so obviously, who cares how happy Carlos was? He didn't win yet. The Cards are the ones who need to shut up and not sound like crybabies. They complain about every little thing. I could see them getting mad if the Crew had their shirts out during the game, but its after the last out..... who freakin cares?
  15. Maybe its the hockey fan in me, but I've always wondered why the ushers aren't allowed to stop people from going back to their seat during an AB. At hockey games, you aren't allowed to go back until a stoppage in play. Now, I understand you can't stop people from getting up in the middle of an inning, but why not stop them from going back and causing the whole row to stand up for them? That will discourage a lot of people from leaving in the middle of the inning because they know they couldn't come back until after the inning.
  16. Actually, a very similar thing happened to me ealier this season. I was at my seat.... yes in the Terrace, but honestly, who cares... spitting seeds onto the floor infront of me. The guys behind me compained to the usher and he said he couldn't make me stop because it was in a contained area and not all over. Granted, they had their pile of peanut shells on the ground that they would kick under my seat when they took a break from eating them, but thats another story. I see them every week when I go (I have a 9 game pack) and they are always pissed at me, but since the one usher told them that, they won't compain and I won't change until someone else says so. And as a side note for where to stand.... I'll get terrace tickets all the time and stand out in RF in the 100's behind the handicapped people and no one cares. And for this fire hazard nightmare, wouldn't you rather have me closer to the door than 40 stories up? Not that it matters, but throwin it out there. No one has ever told me I couldn't stand there and this isn't grade school. What are they gonna say, go sit in your seat? You bought a ticket to see the game and to have the opprotunity to sit in a seat. No where on the ticket does it say you can't watch from a different place.... just not in anyone else's seat.
  17. I'd be more cool with this if Prince got all up in Manny's face and was screaming at him a la an Ozzie Guillen rant.... but pushing/attacking him tooooooooootttttttally crosses the line. And the more I see the replay (thanks ESPN for showing it 4 straight times) I don't see Manny's mouth move once he starts walking down the dugout making me wonder if Prince was pissed Manny didn't answer his 'question/comment' to him.
  18. The reason I think its mostly Prince's fault is because Manny looked so shocked Prince did that and didn't fight back. If you think sometimes coming, normally when Prince came after him he woulda put his hands up or try and do something back.... not just sit there and let everyone else restrain him looking like he doesn't know whats going on.
  19. I'll take it I guess. Does Durham play today for us or does he wait till after the game to OK the trade?
  20. Could we possibly have two trades/a 3 way trade here?... Ford for JT and/or Salome for something bigger?
  21. salome could basically get JT and Durham by himself. no way this is the trade.
  22. For some reason, I don't see Doug making a trade that is basically useless. Taschner isn't any better than what we already have.
  23. Salome being out gives me a bigger hope its Fuentes. A left handed power arm that can close with require a top catching prospect. I don't have any inside info on this one, but just putting a few things together trying to make a puzzle fit.
