  1. Elvis is alove and well, and he is a D-Rays fan.
  2. lead off double shot to hell. This is totally ridiculous. edit: http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  3. I'd like to take this time to change my game score prediction of 7-1 Brewers to 7-1 TB
  4. hey, that guy swings hit bat around like Gary Sheffield! edit: sorry, I had to do it.
  5. ... and tonight's paid attendance: 5,347 what a small crowd.
  6. Well, in honor of Luke232323, who stated the following: Ripping Overbay is needless, and quite moronic. Lyle Overbay is so cold at the plate if you touched his bat, you'd get frostbite.
  7. Quite a rant on a guy who is obviously a very good hitter, but is going through probably the longest slump of his career. Like I said brewerjamie uses his negative mojo to counter the negative mojo of a particular player and the cross-mojonation often leads to a positive mojo for that player. It's technically called a antimojobrewerjaimierectomy. Thanks, nsimps. Yes, indeed it was a "reverse the curse" bashing of Overbay. I sometimes seem to have the unique ability (ok, lucky timing) to blast players who are performing poorly and then watch them have a breakout run of games. I thought that I had made that post rather obvious that it was humor, not a rant. I'll have to choose my words more carefully next time, or get a disclaimer. Anyhow, Overbay did in deed suck so maybe tomorrow I go totally off on him. I wish I could have posted to this IGT during the game, but I was doing some gardening and then grilled dinner.
  8. Nice lineup except of course, Lyle Overbay. Overbay could not get himself out of a hole with a ladder. Overbay or should we say OOOOver-rated, OOOver-hyped, OOOver-and done with? Lyle could not hit a watermelon if it were on a tee, let alone a pitched baseball. Lyle needs to rip open his chin again so he can rip into the ball because obviously, it's the only way he can hit. Untill he gets it together and stops hitting into weak 4-6-3 double plays or little girl pop outs, I believe that the newest chant for our first baseman goes a little something like this: OOOOOOhhh Crud!! Lyle is up.
  9. I have to disagree with you guys. Weels will sit. Playing Weeks sits Hall or Hardy. All the talk about how Hardy should not be sat down for so long has come to fruition- Hardy is the SS and should not play one game and then sit again. You can't sit Hall: he's way way way too hot right now. Weeks sits and gets a PH appearance IMO.
  10. A http://www.sharpie.com/sanford/consumer/sharpie/img/img_pd_sharpiecar.jpg going up against a http://www.wolfcenter.org/images/Mainpage.jpg Where's the contest? It's like money in the bank.
  11. ...actually, Moller sort of hit the ball well against the Yankees, I hope that he can continue that trend, as we'll need it vs the Phillies. Moller has brought his avg. up to a scorching .162. Of course, that's in only 74 AB's, so a couple hits, and he could be over .200 in no time.
  12. iT WAs $1 dollar beer night. At this point, I -AM- a drunk thread! edit" stupid PBR, it'll get ya every time. ok i'm done. bye bye edit again: don't beilieve me? just look at the time <---- I signed this post
  13. Tough start for Cappy. Not only did he have to face a tough Yankee lineup, he was also going up against the Wes Helms Defense.
  14. Looks like going to the game -last night- was the correct decision. Ouch.
  15. 7:05 for a get away game? I can't even recall the last time the Brewers hosted a get away game that was not a day game. on a side note: Jenkins couldn't get a hot bat if he set the thing on fire. It's getting to the point that the only thing Jenkins is capable of "carrying" is water. (can't carry the team) Perhaps most interestingly no matter how funny I try to be about Jenkins, the fact that -part time- players (Hall,3TO) are tied with him in HR's is hilarious. Even funnier though (and quite sad actually) is the fact that -Junior Spivey- is just one moon shot away from our highly tauted slugger in RF. I'm now of the opinion that Geoff Jenkins could not get himself turned around if he were on a Merry-Go-Round.
  16. I tip my cap to you BF.Net! Makes me wish I was able to add something of substance to those draft threads.....
  17. Most of you regulars to the Minor Leagues and June Draft threads know I'm not around there too much, as I concentrate on the Majors. However, I'm going to watch a bit of today's coverage. I'm hoping that we grab a third base or catching prospect in our first round. I think that catching would get my nod before third base though. What are our chances of getting a real genuine catching prospect?
  18. Man oh man. I am looking forward to the posts that come out of the BF.Net Fan Fest Weekend. Seeing what you guys do on your own is freaky enough- but now get us all together? yikes
  19. The ending was quite interesting to say the least. I'll take a win however we get it though. Did I just hear correctly? Junior Spivey "tonight's hero of the game"? Nah, must just be the heat messing my head up......
  20. If Icould take back every bad thing I've said about Spivey, I still wouldn't. For a sucky guy, that was a nice go ahead homer though.
  21. brettac's right. Nope. I started this thread, so I AM correct. No doubt about it, I am ALWAYS right. Well, ok- I sort of thought that quote lead the reader to believe Jeter -would indeed play- the opener against the Brewers, but I also felt that a "debilitating" chest cold may also hold him off one more day. Maybe it's wishfull thinking. That yankee lineup is so deep that it would be nice to catch a break.
  22. You may not hear too much about Jeter, other than "Out of the lineup tonight." This from the Yankee website:
  23. Today marks the beginning of Interleague plays second round for the season as the Brewers host the hated NY Yankees. Once an A.L. East rival, the Brewers have not faced the Yanks in quite some time. The Brewers are 180-207 all-time against the Yankees, but own a 108-87 edge in Milwaukee. Since the teams last met in 1997, the Yankees have appeared in every postseason and the Brewers in none. Things don't start off to easily for the home team as the Bronx Bombers under Bob Uecker's budy Joe Torre, send Randy Johnson to the hill. NYY: LHP Randy Johnson ? 5-4, 3.92 ERA in 2005 ? 1-1, 3.95 vs. MIL in 2004 @ MIL: LHP Doug Davis ? 7-5, 3.62 ERA in 2005 ? 2-1, 6.62 ERA lifetime vs. NYY (In reference to Interleague play)
  24. Ummm... OK! Here we go! Let's see if we can get more than just one run today, I that'd be nice. After a dismal stint in San Diego, upstart right-hander Wes Obermueller will try to get back on track in time to pitch the Brewers to a win in their series finale in Los Angeles. He pitched so well in place of injured ace Ben Sheets that Obermueller warranted a permanent spot in the starting rotation when Sheets returned. But in his first start since the vote of confidence, Obermueller threw 55 pitches -- just 22 of them for strikes -- and was tagged with three earned runs on three hits and five walks in 2 2/3 innings. It was a step back for the right-hander, who had given up one earned run in his previous 14 innings, spanning two starts. The Dodgers will counter with right-hander Brad Penny, who has a 1.25 ERA in his last three starts, but no decisions to show for it. He is 1-2 lifetime against the Brewers with a 5.19 ERA in four starts. MIL: RHP Wes Obermueller ? 1-0, 3.00 ERA in 2005
