  1. Maybe if we just look at this evenings game, we can ease the sting from last night's tough loss. Wes Obermuller ® (1-0 2.43 ERA) @ Jake Peavy ® (5-0 2.00 ERA) Scouting Report: Manager Ned Yost decided to keep Obermueller in the starting rotation and move right-hander Gary Glover to long relief when ace Ben Sheets returned from the disabled list over the weekend. Obermueller had been solid filling in for Sheets, allowing one earned run in 14 innings spanning his two most recent starts. Of his 10 appearances this season, four have been spot starts. Coming off the best performance of his young career, Peavy is at the top of his game. Still throwing 94 mph in the ninth inning, he shut out the Diamondbacks on two hits, facing one over the minimum. The Padres are 9-1 in Peavy's starts. He has 73 strikeouts and 12 walks in 72 innings, and opponents are batting .200 against him. I dunno, maybe Rich Donnelly could blame himself a bit too.
  2. 9 K's through 4&1/3 for Benjamin. (In other words folks, out of 13 outs, NINE have been via the K)
  3. 4 singles in a row, one run is in, and the bases are loaded with no outs. Unfortunately, Spivey is up to be followed by Moeller. Oh well. That was a good rally for a minute at least. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif
  4. Back to Back singles for Jenkins (yeah that's right, he got a hit) and Carlos Lee. Now it's OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  5. 5 K's in a row for Big Ben and 8 on the game! Sounds like a three game series for Spivey!
  6. ..... mak-e that the side. Sheets is consistently in the upper 90's with the fastball. Ben is living around 96-97 in the 3rd. The man is dealing.
  7. Bill just said that he is going to show us all how -he- scores a game during tomorrow's broadcast! I'll be waiting on pins and needles. On a side note, Spivey and Moeller just went down on bac-to-back strikeouts. Hmmm. That's wierd. Talk about Twilight Zone.
  8. LOL, i was ushering in 236/235, so i know the exact guys you are talking about. Did you see the guy in the straw hat? Classic. There were a couple of cub fans in my section who cheered every time the brewers hit into a double play, and was then hit with a barrage of peanuts. I looked the other way on the peanuts Berniebrewer- You are my hero.
  9. I was at the game tonight. My buddy and I met up with Laura and Tom and had a pretty nice talk. At one point, Laura asked if my friend was a BF.Net person to which my reply was "No. He's normal." Anyhow, grrrreat game to be at! what made it better was getting a 300 level seat from a scalper for $5, and then being on the 100 level in Right Center where that 2 run fly ball was dropped. I was right there. Cool.
  10. Let's see how Mr. Geoffery JenKins does this evening. JenKs according to MLB.Com is currently .333 lifetime against Oswalt, but has as many K's as hits= 9. The windmill-like lefty also has two dingers against Oswalt. However, I'm sure that each time Oswalt has faced JenKins, it has been less than challenging to the pitcher. I'd also imagine that Oswalt was feeling quite charitable while facing the whiff king. The recently interviewed hurler had this to say about the Brewers hitter: [ "I like facing that guy. He's the kind of hitter who can really pretty up a guy's stats, ya know? I mean, I hope and pray that every time we play Milwaukee that JenKins will be in the lineup. His being in the third spot is a real nice break too, ya face two tough outs and then an easy K." When asked about the pair of moon shots JenKins blasted, the uninterested Oswalt said: "Uhhh, yeah. He hit two homers off of me, that's right. Trust me though I gave him the opportunity. We were up by like 10-11 runs in each case and it was 2 outs in the Brewer halof of the ninth. I looked in at the catcher and saw those pathetic hopefull eyes just praying for a fatty down the pipe. Then I saw that insanely foolish tape around that wrist and his 1980's lookin' high tops and I started to weep for his family. I mean, look at him at the plate!" Oswalt laughing histarically then added: "Seriously man! Do you ever wath the guy?I mean he swings at almost anything! Anything that is, but a strike. The farther outta the zone, the better off you are. I'm waiting for him to swing when I throw to first!" Geoff JenKins was not present for the Oswalt interview, but was allowed to review it and make a statement. After a few hours, JenKins made his reply: " A lot of people say I look like Brett Favre, so I got that goin' fer me. WooHoo! Go Packers! Carlos Lee Baby!!! I like cinnamon toast! I gots me some power!!!!!!! ----- this ficticious interview is unfortunately not too far off base. Jenkins truly is a whiff King.
  11. Hey hawing- are you going to the game? IF so, lemmie know whereyou guys will be- I'll stop and say hello.
  12. COL: LHP Jeff Francis ? 4-1, 4.27 ERA in 2005 Colorado is 13-29 and terrible on the road. @ 7:05 CST MIL: RHP Victor Santos ? 1-4, 3.20 ERA in 2005 http://www.derok.net/derok/images/classics/chocula%20head.gif On to the game, in which Santos will try to snap a personal three-game losing streak and win his first game this season at Miller Park. He is 0-3 in May despite a 3.13 ERA, and he is 0-1 at home despite a 2.31 ERA at Miller Park. "The reason Victor isn't on the right track is that we didn't score enough runs for him," manager Ned Yost said. "He kept us in all of those games. We could have won every one of them." "I want to take care of business every day. There's a reason teams are over .500. They play fundamental baseball and they don't make mistakes. It just seems, especially lately when we don't score runs, every mistake we make is magnified. It just hurts us." -- Yost, on the way the Brewers have taken care of business against losing teams but struggled against .500+ clubs In the annual Walls of Honor ceremony at Miller Park, the Brewers will recognize Wisconsin-born Major Leaguers Andy Pafko and Paul Schramka, former Negro League players Neale "Bobo" Henderson and Walter "Mac" McCoy, and All-American Girls Professional Baseball Leaguers Louise Erickson and Dollie Vanderlip. The ceremony is open to the public and begins at 4 p.m. CT near the TGI Friday's restaurant in the left-field corner.
  13. still can't get in there after trying I.E. F.F. and shutting down my security features. I've been in there lots before- just can't do it today.
  14. Anyone else having troubles with the chat room again? [19:26] Unable to connect : java.net.ConnectException : Connection timed out: connect blah.
  15. I dunno. I've tried in the past to show interest in the baeball draft, but it's hard to get into it. I mean, drafting HS kids takes a long time before you seen them at all, College kids take a while too. Thats -if they even sign and report-. I would agree that 3rd and Catcher are prime, but I'd set my priority at catcher. Thirdbasemen will always be around. Look at what we've had recently at Catcher.
  16. Here's hoping that the Brewers can continue last night's success in the Humpty Dump where they won 6-0. MIL: RHP Wes Obermueller ? 1-0, 2.63 ERA in 2005 ? 0-1, 8.38 vs. MIN in 2004 http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/425286.jpg @ MIN: LHP Johan Santana ? 5-2, 3.96 ERA in 2005 ? 2-0, 1.80 vs. MIL in 2004 http://www.uglypeople.com/uploaded/11711/0067.jpg Manager Ned Yost said he considered giving Junior Spivey a day off Sunday, but that was before a glance at the numbers. Spivey is 3-for-8 in two games against the left-hander, but two of those hits are home runs. Quotable "At one point, [Lyle] Overbay was carrying the team. It seems like every day we've got somebody who is not afraid to step up. That's what's good about this team." -- Carlos Lee, on the Brewers' up-and-down offense

  18. Our Milwaukee Brewers will try to bounce back from a tough loss and a bit of a skid this evening in Minnesota. Facing Brad Radke won't make that an easy task. Milwaukee's record is now 3 games below the even mark at 19-22. MIL: LHP Doug Davis ? 4-5, 5.01 ERA in 2005 http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/150277.jpg @ MIN: RHP Brad Radke ? 4-3, 3.71 ERA in 2005 http://www.funfry.com/data//871/thumbs/2Funny-Ugly-Woman-Picture002-FunFry_com.jpg The Brewers are 1-6 in their last seven games and 0-17 this season when they score three or fewer runs. ... The five hits allowed by Gary Glover and Jorge De La Rosa in the second inning Friday were the most allowed by the Brewers in any one inning this year. The Twins' 16 total hits was also a season high against Brewers hurlers
  19. This would be cool for today: 8= Clark 4= Hall 9= Jenks 7= Lee 3= O 2= Miller 5= 3TO DH= Helms (sorry) 6= Hardy yeah, that right I said it! Helms at D.H.! If you're gonna play A.L. style, you may as well use that type of line up.
  20. Interleague play is here again, this is the ninth season. Milwaukee will start the Interleague play against it's "Natural Rival" Minnesota Twins. Here's your match-up for this evening: Affectionately known around BF.Net as "G-LOVE" : RHP Gary Glover ? 2-2, 5.73 ERA in 2005 @ RHP Carlos Silva ? 2-2, 3.77 ERA in 2005 Let's pound this guy and his Twinkie teammates into the astro turf.
  21. The Brewers will try to snap a three-game losing streak with their ace on the sidelines MIL: RHP Wes Obermueller ? 0-0, 3.72 ERA in 2005 ? 1-0, 4.50 ERA in 2004 vs. MON @ WAS: RHP Claudio Vargas ? 0-0, 0.00 ERA in 2005 ? Has never faced MIL Claudio Vargas, who is coming off an elbow injury and has made only one start this season. Quotable "This yard plays big. It's a big, spacey ballpark." -- Brewers manager Ned Yost, on his impressions of RFK Stadium
  22. I'm just finding it odd that nobody's been in there the past few games. It was so busy before and then nothing. I'd imagine ja002h brings up a good point.
  23. Can anyone get into the chat room? I can get in there, but each of the last two games I get in there I see that the *Topic has been changed* to Milwaukee 2 St.Louis 4. Battlebot is in there, so is tomwopat, but nobody else. edit: also shows ***Channel mode is +
  24. Well, uhhh... Now I can't even get the stupid numbers and names up there. I'm getting frazzled. I can't seem to find that thread that explained this either. I think it was from last winter sometime... I typed stats and code into the search feature, but no dice. and now have this page 8 miles wide. Please stop laughing at me.
  25. I've been trying to see if I can get stats posted properly, but I'm s step or two away. I know it's possible because it happens here all the time. I am using the "code" feature, but can't seem to get over the hump. This is possible to follow, but I'd like it right on the money. Also- what in the wide wide world of sports is that icon thingy by my name? Just an ez supporter promotion, or am I now in some cool kids club? &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Player &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp TEAM &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp POS &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp G &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp AB &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp R &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp H &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 2B &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 3B &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp HR &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp RBI &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp TB &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp BB &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp SO &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp SB &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp CS &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp OBP &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp SLG &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp AVG &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp
