  1. If the Cubs finish the season 0fer in 1 run games, I'll give you a ZILLION dollars. If you are willing to admit the near impossibility of that, you will begin to appreciate what's being talked about here. Perhaps, because of the Cubs bullpen makeup or other factors, they aren't going to win as many close games as an average team, but there's no chance that they can stay winless in 1 run games for the whole season. When did I ever say they would go 0fer in those games. I don't think they will. I just think they will have a below average record in one run games.
  2. Or maybe the Cubs are a bad team because bad teams blow close games cause of their bullpen, defense, etc.
  3. I was speaking in absolutes by asking if one team is better because they have a better run differential.
  4. The Brewers have won games over the past 8 days that were started by Roy Oswalt (twice), Zambrano and Hill. Great Point! Did the Dodgers or Mets face pitchers of that calibur?
  5. It might suggest it but it doesn't prove it, no. I'm not speaking in absolutes, only probabilities. Only sports fans do that. I must not be a sports fan then.
  6. So if Team A and Team B end up the season with the same record, does that make the team with the better run differential the better team?
  7. I think it was 2 years ago where the Packers had scored more points than their opponents at a point very late in the season and didn't they have a 4-12 record?
  8. You hit it right on the head, RyDogg.
  9. I'm not a big fan of run differential especially this early in the season. A loss is a loss no matter if you lose 10-1 or 1-0. This isn't soccer where goals scored is a tie breaker at the end of the season.
  10. Maybe they should do exploratory surgery on Sheets groin like they did with Prior's shoulder.
  11. I can see Miller Park outside my window here at the office and the roof is closed.
  12. Isn't Manny due for a promotion to AAA some time soon?
  13. Let's give him one more year before we judge how good Zack Jack is going to be. I think he will have a very solid year in AAA.
