  1. Then why did people classify him as an "innings eater"?
  2. Out of all of our starting pitchers, Jeff Suppan leads the team with 156.1 innings. Considering there are 37 games left, that leaves about 7 more starts for Suppan. He will have to average over 6 innings per start to get to 200 innings. The next closest pitcher is Bush with 143.2. How pathetic is it that we can't even get a 200 inning pitcher in a season? Part of this is due to Gallardo and Parra coming on in mid season and injuries, but this is mostly due to crappy starting pitching.
  3. Bill Hall has been the biggest disappointment on this team not named Rickie Weeks this year. I like Hall, though, and am hoping September is a career month for him. Oh what could have been with this team had we not had so many disappointments/injuries to Weeks, Hall, Sheets, Suppan, etc.
  4. Hopefully they can put some of that rodeo stuff on it and get him back by September 1st. If that doesn't happen, goodbye 2007.
  5. His arm is good, but his range is horrible. If that means "fine" then I guess that is the case.
  6. HebrewHammer, great analysis. That is what I suspected. Cappy does not have the stuff to make pitches when he's behind in the count. Thank you for eliminating this BABIP/Luck crap.
  7. Passable, yes, but very below average just like in RF. He's got a good arm but can't cover the ground that Hart can. Playing AAAA players over Hart is not a smart idea.
  8. Since Gross falls over whenever a routine ball comes to him, I suggest we keep Hart out there in RF and let Gross try to draw his walk when he bats for the pitcher in the 9th inning.
  9. When you guys were refering to the "luck stats", did you really think it is luck? I argue that he just can't make big pitches when he is behind in the count because he doesn't have the velocity to throw the fastball in the zone or the accuracy to throw his off speed stuff for a strike. He simply has to hope the batter swings at his junk pitches. Pujols doesn't swing at junk pitches hence his 500+ batting avg against Cappy.
  10. Ok. Chris Capuano has melted down this year and I am comparing his year this year to Turnbow's year last year. Both cost their team countless games and were left in their positions way too long before action was taken. The problem now is that we don't have a viable replacement for him because of innings limits on young pitchers. If Ben Sheets is healthy right now, Cappy is long gone from the Brewers rotation. I claimed in June when Cappy went on the DL that the Brewers were a better team as a result and that thread I started got shot down worse than a goose during hunting season. The good news to all this is that Turnbow bounced back the next year so maybe Cappy will come back next year and be back to his old self. How wacko do I sound by making the Turnbow, Cappy analogy?
  11. Yeah it's only been 3 games but right after the change was made, he starting hitting the ball with more authority. It'd be nice to get some production from the bottom of the order. Here's to another Hardy hot streak!
  12. Ok, so Hardy has been hitting a lot better since moving to the 8th spot. Is this a coincidence or does Hardy benefit more from being #8.
  13. Coors field isn't affecting Lilly's Curveball tonight. Cubs up 10-1.
  14. This win tonight is payback to the Phillies when we blew a 6-2 lead in Philadelphia via Turnbow. Eat it Phillies!
  15. Don't like when it becomes an oven or sweat box either. Is it possible to install air conditioning at Miller Park? It gets so hot in their on those muggy days with rain threatening in the forecast.
  16. County Stadium was a crappy stadium that wasn't drawing people to the ball park. I like having a world class facility to see baseball. I don't miss County Stadium one bit, but maybe that's because I'm only 23 years old and didn't get to see many Brewer wins there.
  17. There are plenty of sites you can use to get around corporate filters. "proxies" Is it pretty easy to get caught doing this or is it not too risky? I don't want to lose my job from Brewerfan.net. http://static.yuku.com/v2//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/grin.gif
  18. I'm with Rluz on this issue. Weeks will be a great player in baseball. He's close to getting it back too. It's all in timing for Weeks. When he waits back on pitches, he is so tough because of his quick bat. He will fix this in the minors and come back with avengance. I don't think they should have sent down Weeks, but maybe this will help him.
  19. So Balfour didn't have to clear waivers then?
  20. I was thinking we'd send down Spurling instead of Balfour. Maybe Balfour will clear waivers though.
  21. Any word on who got sent down for the addition of Linebrink to the 25 man roster?
  22. I thought I heard they haven't come from behind (to win) after the 7th at all yet this year. Yeah it seems that way. I remember a few games where the game was tied and we walked off for a win, but I don't remember many late comeback wins. Anyone have anything on this?
  23. Is it just me or are the Brewers getting a lot of their offense in the first few innings and then sitting on leads and not adding much insurance in the late innings? We did add an insurance run last night in the late innings, but there have been many games where we'd put up a good amount of runs in the first few innings and then sat on the lead. Luckily, We've been winning most of those games so it hasn't been a problem, but what could be causing something like this?
  24. What do you guys think about the 2 leagues as a whole? Is the AL really that much better than than the NL or has the gap closed since a year ago where the AL dominated interleague play and had more top tier teams?
