I'm not saying he has never done it, just that the timing is odd.

So with Ax as our closer, he rarely pitched more than one inning. Now, as a non-closer, he comes in the first day in his new role and pitches 1 1/3? Interesting that as a closer, he can't handle that, but the first day at his new job he can.

This is all too strange for it NOT to be a trade... I'd guess we will know by Thursday. -
My guess it is the first suggestion... No rhyme or reason, just random decision making by our manager.

Pinning all our hopes on one game, or the 9 games after the all star break is silly to me. This team has shown no signs of being able to get on that hot streak that we have all been hoping for all season long. We should have known weeks ago this wasn't going to happen. Melvin should have been burning up the phones the past week. We can't replace our entire bullpen, and until that happens, we are going to be left out of any wild card chase, and can't even begin to think we are in the NL Central division title race. Depressing as it is, we are done for 2012, it is 2013 any beyond that we are going to have to worry about.

There could be. Even if we do sell, and I hope we do. Bring up Henderson, Peralta, Rogers, Schaffer and get ride of Greinke, Marcum, Nyjer, Krod, Loe for the best price we can get for them. DFA- Livan and whoever you cant trade out of the prior mentioned and go with below for the rest of the season and see what's there and whats not. Rotation: (5) Gallardo Fiers Rogers Estrada Peralta Bullpen: (7) Axford Henderson Rogers Wooten Parra Veras McClendon Thornburg?

don't forget our manager...As bad as the bullpen has been, RR has to be responsible for 4-5 losses himself with his lack of game managing skills. (Probably more, but I am being generous) Not even Dusty Baker could Lose that many games...and I'm being generous. I respectfully disagree.

Just another flawed philosophy by our leader... How can anyone back this clown? Between him and our pathetic bullpen, I just can't see how anything will change this year.

RR just said that his closer stays in the game until it is tied, or we lose the lead by one run... If that is his philosophy, I want him gone, yesterday. The guy is not fit to run this team with comments like this. Maybe that can be your philosophy early in the season, but once your closer proves to you time and time again that he can't get the job done, it's time for a change in thought...

He has had 4 months to "fix" it, and has been unable to do so. I have zero faith in Axford any longer, I'd even consider demoting him until he can figure out how to pitch again. I'd also consider not allowing him to pitch in the 8th or 9th until he works it out. I'm sick of rewarding guys for poor, pathetic, horrible play...

With any other manager, I'd agree with you, but in this case, I think "Axy" keeps his job...
