Brewers general manager Doug Melvin indicated to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com on Thursday night that Zack Greinke is not a sure thing to be traded. More accurately, Melvin was trying to downplay a USA Today story where he confirmed that Greinke would "definitely" be traded. "I just said there was that possibility," said Melvin. "I don't think there's any secret, with the Trade Deadline, that this is a possibility. Zack knows that. We know that. Other teams know that." There's always the chance that the Brewers could keep Greinke for the rest of the year and make him a qualifying offer to secure draft pick compensation, but we still fully expect he'll get dealt before Tuesday's non-waiver trade deadline. The Rangers, Angels, Braves and White Sox have reportedly expressed the most interest in the impending free agent. Source: Brewers.mlb.com
