My sister in law is a Cubs fan visiting us in New York this weekend. I need the Crew to play well so I'm not getting taunted in my own home all weekend. I agree with somebody's early comment that happy Cubs fans are worse than the Cubs actually winning.

Clearly I'm not the first to say this, but here in New York no one cares what I think of the Brewers. Why is Yost so tied to Weeks in the 1 spot or not playing. Is he afraid he'll hurt his feelings? His glove has improved so much I think he should be on the field, but maybe being moved down in the lineup for a few weeks would do him some good.

It would be nice to have Gwynn hitting in front of Hardy and Prince.

Yeah, why not move Rickie down and give Gwynn a shot up there at lead off.

Trust me, I sit at home and complain about approach all the time. If a guy swings at the first pitch I invariably swear about it. But taking the long view it's working this year. I do wonder where the brewers rank in terms of runners left on base. It feels like some of the wins could have been by more runs, but a win is a win. Hall hustles at all times, so I always give him the benefit of the doubt.

Right, I'm not saying put Gwynn in and let it be, and really I'm fine with what Ned's been doing (like it matters what I think anyway!), but he's been willing to try some different things and it's a fair criticism that Gwynn could use more playing time. If they'd sent him down to Nashville he'd be getting at bats and that'd be a good thing. Too much talent in the outfield is a good problem, and when someone gets hurt depth is going to be a real strength of this team.

Why not put Hall in Left, Gwynn in center and Jenkins in Right? Still leaves the problem of what to do with Hart, but he's going to be on the team longer than Jenkins or Mench and when they go he goes to right. Bring Braun up and this team starts to get scary. But Jenkins has to be in there for defense!
