  1. They've awarded All-Star Games to a bunch of NL ballparks in a row so they needed to make the AL the home team for some of them.
  2. When is someone going to call the Cardinals our daddy? http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v7097699/pedro-martinez-calls-the-yankees-his-daddy
  3. I hope this is a joke. Why? If I don't do my job well, I won't have it. Why are these athletes any different? Because their union collectively bargained for guaranteed contracts and their employer agreed.
  4. Saw a Bill Simmons tweet that the Bucks were making a "stealth" move for Wade. No thanks.
  5. Playing by the full rules of tournament golf is completely unworkable for the vast majority of recreational golfers. The USGA needs to find a way to simplify its rules and rulings so that someone doesn't need a law degree to understand them.
  6. Cue clip from Full Metal Jacket...
  7. I told him not to get jiggy with it!
  8. Where are the going to go, Montreal? Vegas?
  9. Is there a dumber nickname in basketball than "Plumlord?"
  10. In what other union do new hires get paid more than the journeyman vets? Seems like a key feature of a union is to protect those who've been around for a while. Not sure why the MLB Union should be any different.
  11. Has anyone seen one like this before?
  12. Rumor that Milwaukee kicked the tires on Dwight Howard but only if he agreed to exercise next year's option. Interesting...
  13. Pretty simple...pick new Closer music for Jeffress/Smith I'll throw out there
  14. I was very lucky during Christmas this year and through a combination of gifts/gift cards/cash upgraded nearly my entire bag this winter. I am more-or-less a Callaway guy and found some great deals on their pre-owned site. I am pretty much set with my bag makeup this year, although after a few bad rounds I will start blaming the equipment again even though I know it's not their fault. This will be my second year in my work's golf league so I'm excited to get back out there and have some actual competition. Living in the DC area has been good for the most part this winter until our most recent snowfall. Hope courses can melt soon because it's tough having 55-plus degree days but not being able to play golf!
  15. I dunno, everyone I know still uses their parent's HBO log-in to gain access instead of paying for HBO Now.
  16. Well if you live out of market, it seems the new single-team package does just that. For in market, I would assume because the RSNs pay a lot of money to broadcast those games in the home market, they are within their rights to limit access to the broadcast to people who pay for the RSN. Now what is/isn't a "home market" is absolutely still a point of contention.
  17. Yeah I think this Jersey has been Brewerfan.net's White Whale for quite some time now. Seriously, why doesn't the Pro Shop make a replica!
  18. At least for me, it's not that I am outraged they didn't vote Griffey in with 100% of the vote, it's just asinine that some voters feel they have an obligation to not allow someone in with 100% because Ruth didn't get in with 100%. Goes along with the whole "unwritten rules" of baseball thing. Sometimes this sport and its media take themselves WAY too seriously.
  19. A trade a day makes second to last place finishes go away
  20. Looks like the Tigers are taking on all of the $, which explains why the return may not be much.
  21. Back to the Future predicted it, so it has to happen... To me, it is still better than another St. Louis Cardinals win. I agree re: Cardinals. The Cubs winning would definitely be insufferable for a year or so but it would finally shut them up about being cursed a la the Sawx.
  22. They had just as many devastating injuries as the Cardinals. Almost all of the preseason predictions had the Nats as the NL Champs. I am normally of the camp that a Manager has little effect on the outcome of games, but Williams' horrible managing absolutely cost the team a shot at the playoffs. Their GM Rizzo should've been shown the door too. How he thought that bullpen would get them to and through the playoffs is beyond me.
