  1. those retro bobbles are so awesome. i was at a bar watching the badgers - psu game and on another screen they had the bucks game & they had a sneak peek of the lanier on tv. i couldnt believe how cool it was!! jon mcglocklin should be another classic in april.
  2. I'd hate to see the brewers leave AZ, likely bc i'm an arizona resident. I think the Brewers are the only team that owns its facility. Considering its about ten years old & attendance numbers really dont effect the bottom line for the financial success of the year, it would seem the deal would have to be outrageously good. I think it might help AZ that attanasio is a socal resident. He's a 30-minute flight from home during springtime.
  3. I thought it bears mentioning. In the next two weekends, the Brewers are having two SGA days! The catch is, you need to drive to 51st ave & Indian School in Phoenix, Arizona. Not too bad for me as I live 6 miles away. 3/8 Rickie Weeks Bobblehead Day (first 1000) 3/15 Chorizo Bobblehead Day (first 500) - Cerveceros Jerseys will be worn as its a Latin Heritage "celebration" It would be shocking that the giveaways werent 2007 leftovers. Are there going to be the pinstripe alternates passed out? Lets just say I wont be analyzing the boxes for "mixed" as I enter. Also, ushers in the fifth inning seek out children and simply give them bobbleheads. From what I saw it all looked like last years inventory. Even a bunch of 1957 Braves Matroishkas were part of the deal. We got a couple by filling out a 4-page survey proctored by ASU undergrad biz students. Anybody coming to "Scaryvale" this month? I've been there three times already and will be by twice in the next 3 days. Really, I should post a gallery from this year. I remember that SunDevil1 had something of the sort last year. I havent been looking too much in the major leagues board, but hopefully someone has been good sharing content. If any of you might be really curious about my pix (which are totally awesome w/ my new dslr cam), shoot me an email & i'll send you a couple. maxsiker at yahoo ps. Next weekend saturday, I will experience the double SGA extravaganza. 3/15 is Chorizo & Tom Chambers. Since I was back home 07/07, its going to be the second chorizo day for me!
  4. bruxelles!! allez. quand-meme, j'espere que vous allez pour deux semestres.
  5. i suppose i could describe the action to someone who called me at a weekend brewers spring training game. more often than not, my friends & i will call each other to give realtime descriptions of whats happening in games at crucial moments.
  6. i can remember when disney bought the california angels in the 90s and they added cheerleaders. it seemed like such an idiotic idea and lampooned by the media. i remember uecker saying on the radio there was no place in baseball for it. iirc, the angels shelved it and dont currently have a cheer squad. but now it seems that at least half the MLB teams have cheerleaders / dancers / enthusiastic hired teenagers to entertain. in phoenix, the diamondbacks have the "rallybacks". unofficially a side-job for ASU sigma phi sorority. (g-d bless coeds) from what i've observed from a distance, it seems the brewers diamond dancers have evolved a bit from its inception. clearly over the decades, MLB has evolved. on an unrelated note, i can tell you with my arizona cardinals tickets, if they ever take away the booted, big breasted, big haired pom pom girls away from me. good night season tickets.
  7. i like to collect things. i have a bin full of ticket stubs of events i've been to in the 90s / 00s. i'd consider paying more money for a ticket if it means i can have a souvenir. who knows, stubs might be a relic of history soon.
  8. i was at yankees stadium to see history, they lost 22-0 to the cleveland indians. it was a magical night. i was trying to imagine what that mustve felt like for victor martinez to hit a 3-run HR in the top of the ninth to extend the 19-0 to an insurmountable 22-0. i'm looking forward to see what the new stadiums are gonna be like.
  9. i'm all for this. i imagine i'm in the minority. at the phx suns games, we get the dancing dads, golden grannies - to go along with the suns dancers & adio sol patrol. and the t-shirt toss. i do remember the 80s when there were moments in sports events not dominated by sponsors but that was 20 years ago.
  10. both choices are great. study abroad is a life changing experience. i lived a year in lyon, france at an engineering institution. being now ten years detached from it, definitely the most incredible days. i hope you choose study abroad. curious, what country would you be studying abroad?
  11. prince fielder, there will be two more versions after the next SGA. nice with robin yount, there are already six versions of #19
  12. Hey Brian. Just wanted to say thanks again for completing this task for the benefit of all of us who are Brewers Collector Maniacs! I should be back in Wisconsin in the next few months. Looking forward to completing our 6-for-6. -Max
  13. cool. send me an email. pepsimax99@gmail.com
  14. Hi, Anyone in Milwaukee interested in a Ogilvie, we've got 2 extras? We need a Sutton or a Caldwell. PM me.
  15. County Stadium was such a classic. Very biased, its my all-time favorite stadium. I think my favorite moment was the 1992 season, the oakland a's series. There was almost 58k ppl in there on the last home date. I can never get used to MP. Now that I'm in phoenix and the local ballpark is a similar design, i find myself resenting the diamondbacks.
  16. who else is like me and now cannot look at the bf.net board at work? i suppose you cannot answer that question if you are also banned like me. i am writing this msg before i go to work. fortunately, if i bring my laptop w/ wifi (company next door has unprotected netword) - i get to look at all the fun banned websites.
  17. wow. to me thats a great collectible. considering how that dude singlehandedly submarined the team. would you take a scottie podsednik bobblehead? you in milwaukee?
  18. what do you get when you take the T away from rally rabbit.. Rally Rabbi !!! www.chabadsf.org/template...AID=444478
  19. sweet! i'm glad to know that having season tickets to this garbage - how thats money well spent. (no surprise that i also have season tix to the arizona cardinals) i have no idea if donughy blew the whistle on amare, but i'll bet my bottom dollar it was that dude in that game who blew the late whistle 3 seconds after the play when everyone was already on the other side of the court - to give manu ginobli free throws. bill simmons column on this debacle is a good read.
  20. i wouldve loved the suns taking splitter, but hate to correct you man, the suns picked alando tucker & dj strawberry. suns nemisis sa spurs got tiago.
  21. this puts another cloud over the spurs 2007 championship. whether he contributed to point-shaving or not, dude was a ref for game 3 of the spurs suns series, the one where amare stoudemire questionably found himself in early foul trouble & san antonio took it 108-101.
  22. i'm looking for a damian miller bobblehead 2006 (white), anybody have any extras? i've got extras of "hot dog" 2006, scott podsednik 2004, and various 2007 "1982" minis (cecil cooper, ted simmons 7/13, gorman thomas 7/20). also az dbacks "orlando hudson" and "randy johnson" 2007. also have luis gonzalez figurine 2006, phx suns mr potato head 2006. edit: also looking for a robin yount "coach" pose 2006. if youre looking to trade one, msg me.
  23. i wanna play too. this is fun. pedro, that is very generous for you to give tickets to people you dont know!
  24. hi matt. i can attribute to how much kids like bobbleheads. i've given about a dozen to my gf's kid over the last year from games i went to that were SGA. she absolutely loves them, anytime a grown-up comes over, she brings them out for an immediate show-and-tell. i hold my breath everytime she touches them & i've already had to glue randy johnson together. (of course it broke the one time i turned my back)
