back in 3/7 during the first day of the thread, i noted the brewers owner attanasio is a simple 30-minute flight from spring facilities. i suppose we learned today that it is a big deal. a big part of the motivation for jerry reinsdorf to move white sox to glendale from tucson, gets them a hundred miles closer to his paradise valley home.

when the cubs came down the PHX for the NLDS, it was actually cheaper for a chicago fan to buy a plane ticket, hotel room, game ticket (and likely enough for a few beers and a rent-a-car) than to buy scalpers tickets at wrigley. i'd been to a few games at miller park / county stadium when the cubs were in town. they were always better than the brewers so they attracted huge out-of-town fans. i hope now that the brewers have a wave of success, they can keep their mouths shut and take the beating. its nice that the first two away series are over, theyve already suffered 4 home losses.

April HRs? easter sunday 1987. i think ppl were dancing in the bleachers for 30min after the game.

reading thru the last few pages. i'm trying to understand the large incentive to why florida would be a better place than phx. spring training, east or west is pretty small potatoes. but the facilities with fall ball, rookie ball etc, then it is a year long operation / consideration. hey - it doesnt hurt to look & explore. you know these three cities will be trying their darndest to get a team into their localized economies. for those who have been to 51st ave & indian school, its clear there would be a minimal effect on the immediate area of maryvale whether theres a game or not. the walk from walmart across the street to the gate is much closer than general admission parking at miller park to hot corner.

i have been sniped so many times. i stopped bidding early. i've got several of your auctions on my "watch". unfortuunately i cant arrange for local pickup as i'm in phoenix. i likely have one of the best brewers bobblehead collections for az.

i live in the west valley. its definitely not as pretty as scottsdale but as i'm close to cards stadium & hockey arena, they keep improving the neighborhood. its a great time to buy now. you dont need to hurry and worry - the market shouldnt change drastically. everyone fears itll get worse which means itll be even better for buyers. when i bought my house, my realtor sent me to real estate school and i'd learned quite a bit about that. i dont do much w/ my license since i'm an engineer and i'm happy w/ my career. my suggestion, since you both are young. buy a condo in scottsdale. all the young ppl live there and i'm sure you should both be able to find jobs in the close vicinity.

i'm in glendale too. i'm likely to be cheapo and sit in the $5 seats. just a thrill to be in the building. spring training is a blessing to be able to sneak down to interact w/ the players at practice & sneak down to the front row.

i love that the brewers are very creative and prolific with the bobbleheads. they may have been a few years behind the sf giants / mn twins / mn timberwolves, but now the craftsmanship and number of bobblehead SGA is second to none. and how many other teams distrubute "alternate" bobbleheads 1/8. i know some might complain that theyre giving away too many.

since i'm actually planning on attending the st patricks day game versus the chicago white sox, i'm starting to catch the green fever. i'm planning on taking off work so i can photograph it. its a shame we wont be seeing the green brewers stuff at the kohls in phoenix. but at least we have an abundance of 70% off super bowl 42 merchandise.

i have a small collection. i was very ambitious when i'd begun this, trying to get the games that were the most remarkable. i think i ended up getting a nice handful, gb over cowboys 1997, mnf miracle over mpls 2000, GB over pittsburgh 1995 (thank you yancy thigpen). my favorite was a stub from not even a packer game. the minnesota at arizona cardinals game 2003. i picked up a ticketmaster stub from someone on ebay for a couple bucks. i'm kicking myself kindof for missing out on a few attempts on getting some 93 stubs of favre's first win versus bengals & favre's first start versus steelers. $30 seemed steep at the time!!

hey guys. i had a bobblehead moment for the ages last weekend. last sat 3/8 game, i somehow i got into the VIP tailgate and got to have a catered buffet w/ the brew crew. naturally when i crossed rickie weeks, i said "dude, i got your bobblehead." his response was to the effect of "good for you whatever". i'm sure he didnt get the memo they were passing a thousand toys of him outside that day. anyways, i was able to get a pic w/ him, the bobblehead, and me. and after i'd seen a few ppl were having him sign it, i got one too. i had thought about being really greedy and grabbing a dozen(s). but i ended up with a meager deuce. to my great surprise when i got home, i found out i got an alternate. my dumb luck finally. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2006-10/1218907/IMG_0003.jpg like most of my collection, i doubt i'd care to trade or sell anything.
