  1. I like it, but I am looking for something more on the majestic nature of the ballpark itself
  2. I am looking for a good quote about ballparks being like cathedrals I am looking for more of a standalone statement, the Bull Durham line is kind of mixed in with other stuff in a list As always, I expect someone to nail this, and usually by the time I check back, Thanks in advance
  3. http://www.dailytech.com/Temperature+Monitors+Report+Widescale+Global+Cooling/article10866.htm I am not here to argue anything, or have an opinion on anything I am just posting that article
  4. I wish I had size 12, this is how i shoe shop: me: hey you got any 13s? shopkeep: no, those always sell out right away me: so, you think maybe you should order more of them at a time if they keep selling out? shopkeep: *blank stare* but i really came in here to complain about how bad "Black Snake Moan" was
  5. Coco Crisp Zelous Wheeler (if is pronounced the same as 'zealous' anyone know?) Rusty Kunts
  6. Ah, I love Vegas These past threads may prove helpful: http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=10939/t/If-you-only-do-one-thing-in-Vegas.html http://forum.brewerfan.net/viewtopic.php?t=11064 Cirque Du Soliel is worth whatever price - Don't go downtown, it's like West Allis, NV - The only ride worth doing at the Stratosphere is the Big Shot - Don't take the trolley - I find a 3 day monorail pass is one of the best deals going - The Mirage has what could possible be the best buffet in the known universe - The Seafood Buffet at the Rio is not worth it
  7. thats exactly what I love about it, almost looks like animation or something
  8. I was talking to a guy at a party last night, he was asking me what it was worth, but I had never heard of it This is the only description of it I can find on the net He said it was a giveaway, and he got it when he worked at County Stadium in the 90s
  9. somehow i have completely missed this happening, have the Brewers done it in the last 5 years? 3 cities in 3 days is a little more harsh i think
  10. I find this whole idea to be incredibly stupid by MLB http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080615&content_id=2937115&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc I would be especially upset if I were a Cubs fan to go from Toronto, to New York, to Tampa in 3 days. This is as bad as Boston and Oakland playing real games in Japan, and coming home to play more exhibition games
  11. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/viewitem.php3?gameid=19438 What is described in the above link, would love to see it.
  12. I would bet a sizable amount of money this guy does them: http://www.johnmcgivern.com/images/TicketDiscount.jpg I am sick of the German Language Usinger spots on WMLW games, and all the lottery commercials, radio or TV
  13. http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g299/tylerderden69/DSC_0128_29_30copy.jpg This is a HDRI (High Dynamic Range Picture) picture. It's my new desktop and will be gracing my wall in beautiful 24x36 goodness soon.
  14. I was basing my question more on Yost saying he would be available to pinch hit If he was as available as said, I figured you would have seen him in yesterday's game
  15. I don't know if this has been asked elsewhere If JJ can't even PH over Rivera, or for that matter Bush, shouldn't he be on the DL?
  16. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080612/bs_nm/anheuser_inbev_dc_7 I don't really have an opinion I guess, business is business Might help microbrews market themselves as being 100% American vs. none of the macros any more
  17. What is the maximum amount of updates a non-game station can do? X per hour? For example, how often could 1250 WSSP give score updates on a game thats going on? They very well can't watch the game on TV and give play by play, so where is the line? I am certain there is a law on this, curious if anyone knows.
  18. From the Brewers Mail Bag by Adam McCalvy Does Hardy have a health issue where he can't play a day game after a night game? I guess I just don't understand why Yost sits him as often as he does. He is our best defensive player (certainly best defensive shortstop) and yet he seems to get 1-2 days off per week. I understand getting Counsell at-bats but not at the expense of playing time for Hardy. There has to be more reasoning than that. -- Scott J., Neenah, Wis. Hardy is not 100 percent -- I suppose the same goes for 90 percent of the players in the league by this time of year -- but good luck getting him or anyone else with the Brewers to talk about it. Hardy receives lower back treatments nearly every day, and you see him in the clubhouse after games with ice on his non-throwing shoulder, the same one he had surgically repaired in 2004. None of his bumps and bruises prevent him from playing, but it makes sense to the Brewers to rest him once or twice a week to keep him as healthy as possible. I wouldn't be surprised by a Hardy DL stint, I just have that sinking feeling.
  19. Ooooo, I hate the "clearly better" Budweiser ads, I LIKE cloudy merky dark beers you fools I would defiantly call myself an "ad snob" too Patio Daddio was a great jingle, but I am a Usinger's Man, despite there German language commercial that runs during every break of every WMLW game. Do you want to know why? Usinger's pays for their ads in sausage, The Christmas bonus at CBS58 is a box of Usinger sausage, 3 logs of cold sausage and some cheese. Merry Christmas, here's some meat. *EDIT* add on Lazy Mutt Farmhouse Ale It's not too good, a fruit beer if I would call it anything, but it comes in 8 packs with the slogan "This 6 pack comes with 8 beers in it!" and is called "man's best friend" which is brilliant marketing
  20. Pujols will be the 12th person on the St. Louis DL 10 are pitchers Cubs have 3 total: Chad Fox, Angel Guzman, and Daryle Ward
  21. That was pretty freaking awesome. I am still looking for the George Brett and Robin Yount ad from 15(?) years ago. They argue over 1 MVP vs. 2 MVPs and George asks Robin if he's 98% sure of something, or if he's just 78% sure. Pretty sure this was a Miller Lite ad. As bad as the Quiznos ads were, people did talk about them. I didn't have any close to me, so was pretty much unaffected. I very much dislike being tempted by Sonic ads when I would have to go all the way to Illinois to slide that greasy stuff down my throat.
  22. You got it Brian, it's my great uncle Ulrich woooooooo
  23. I respectfully disagree, Lady in the Water and The Village were both advertised heavily with Shyamalan's name and mentions of previous work, his name has been soiled by those films Shyamalan was the "it" director for a while, and his name alone sold the above mentioned films, which I don't think can happen any more, thus the "hey, remember these movies from the late 90s, they were good, right?" campaign It's very similar to Winona Ryder completely disappearing from all advertising of Mr. Deeds after her issues
