  1. Caution: Rant Ahead If he's 19, then why did he play in the hoops summit game in 2004 with 18 year olds and some 19 year olds? The reality is he's 22. He's been carefully handled so they could spread a lot of disinformation. His height has been listed anywhere from 6'11" to 7'1". I don't think his measurements were taken at the pre draft camp, but rather separately. They witheld his standing reach among other things. If the Bucks keep Yi, I might have to throw up. Apparently Larry Harris or Kohl doesn't believe NBA teams genuinely have to play defense. The guy averaged 1.3 blocks in the CBA against 6'6" centers and 5'6" guards. Can't really bang. Who are the Bucks going to stop if they re-sign Mo. The defense is going to be a sieve on the perimeter once again with Mo and Redd playing matador D and Yi and Bogut are going to do nothing to deter them. Bogut gave him a tough time at he worlds as did Jefferson at the aforementioned hoops summit game. I've seen him play a couple of times and he played tiny for a supposed big man. Loves to roam on the perimter, and thinks he's Dirk, but he doesn't have near Dirk's proficiency. So he won't make them step out as much. The athleticism in the NBA and in America period, is on another level from the rest of the world (especially China). If he has to rely on athleticism, he's going to be in for a rude awakening, because 4's in the NBA can stay with him laterally. Rebounding wise, he's not strong enough to get in position, and can't get on the trampoline with multiple jumps. I've been a draft nut since I was about 6, and I'm a die hard Bucks fan. This is about as disgusted as I've been. I would have been perfectly satisfied with about 9 of 11 or so other realistic scenarios...so I wouldn't have been hard to please this year. If the quote from Bucher is true and Harris didn't see him play, that's appalling. How can you not see your first round draft pick play. I hope that's misinfo. This seems like a marketing ploy if we keep him. If we don't trade him today, we'll find out the hard way what he is all about.
  2. I want a wild pitch to set up a Damian Miller sac fly.
  3. That close to another Bill Hall walk off! But we're back in action baby. Back in action!
  4. We need a run NOW. Our bullpen situation is of course very tenuous, and just like against the Royals, I don't think we get thru many more than 1 without a run allowed.
  5. Good thing Yost used Villanueva in those all important innings yesterday when we had a 7 run lead.
  6. Piktchur Toni Grafino rolin in hiz 5 hundy benz!
  7. Yoo kiddin? Palsmo got spid and powir, ands a kitcher. Snot klose.
  8. Villahavanagila is twise thi picher dat Fargas is. Hi shood reely be inn thi rotashin
  9. Can n.e.won poast thee awdio vershin ov woah solvdd thred plees? Dat twas funni!
  10. We've lost a lot more games lately which we should have won than the other way around. 1 or 2 at Texas, @ Minnesota, this game. We should be about 13 or 15 over. At least with the Texas game, what could you do when Coco blew it. I feel like this loss, as well as the loss @ Philly earlier this year; was avoidable. Those are the must frustrating for me personally because of the decisions Yost made.
  11. Melvin should make a deal for a good setup man. He needs to put Yost in a situation where it's almost impossible for him to make an incorrect decision with the pen. If he has one fail in the bullpen, Yost will pitch him in a big spot.
  12. Man, what was Pena thinking? That was ridiculously shallow. At least we still have Hart up with a chance to tie it!
  13. Another terrible decision by Yost. Leaving Capellan in for one inning throwing solely high 80's fastballs was enough. 2 innings is just preposterous. So was not pinch hitting Gross to start that inning for Mench. There was a mountain of evidence warning against those decisions. You've got to play the numbers. It doesn't matter what actually resulted and the hindsight. There are right and wrong decisions. The more incorrect decisions as a manager you make obviously the better chance you have of allowing your team to get stung.
  14. I don't think betting I'll pee my pants is enough of a risk next time Weeks comes up with a chance at a definitive hit. It's too much of a sure thing that he won't.
  15. I'll take a walk of Graffy. Miller is clutch. I'll pee my pants if Weeks actually comes up with the game winner (that's not a walk). That's my promise to you.
  16. Somehow he got thru an entire hitting throwing virtually solely 88-90 MPH fastballs. Let's pick up a run quick so we don't have to sweat thru another inning of him needing to be Houdini.
  17. Yost better pitch Villanueva and not throw some garbage reliever out there like Spurling.
  18. We're not worthy! We're not worthy!
  19. Yeah, that was a really foolish decision by Yost not to pinch hit for Mench. A righty who can't hit righties and has a low OBP to leadoff the inning. I'm sure he's thinking about a what if scenario for the 10th inning. You have to get there first. Ned just makes me shake my head sometimes. Rickie Weeks continues to be clutch! He'd be an all star if it weren't for those pesky pressure situations.
  20. When I said in spite of, I meant it sarcastically.
  21. I agree. But at the time, Gwynn was the best option option to play in the outfield and hit at the top of the order. Hart had an OBP in the .320's. The other two outfielders were Mench and Gross. Hart has since exploded. Hall can always move to corner outfield. He's changed positions about 4 times already to accomodate the team, what's one more?
  22. Doug Jones, I already talked extensively about why I thought Gwynn Jr. was a prospect. If you want to know why, read here: p092.ezboard.com/fbrewers...5225.topic Nobody else expounded on their explanations to be anti Gwynn here, more than I expounded on my explanation to be pro Gwynn. Why the double standard?
  23. Whatever. Let's not sit here and act like Tony Gwynn Jr. is an established backup ala Gabe Gross. He's a prospect. You have to continue to play him beyond 36 at bats to see if he's for real or ready for the big leagues. The same is the case for ANY prospect. You may not consider him much of a prospect, but obviously other people differ. To say that everyone should see him like you do, and treat him like a veteran backup; is ludicrous.
