  1. I don't think I can stomach another extra inning game.. i'd love to see bush be the only guy we need in extras here... the last thing we need against the cubs is a tired pen
  2. i'm feeling good things outta weeks
  3. we are pretty much half way through the season and you think its almost in the bag? A little premature I'd say... lot of baseball left.
  4. The Cubs scare me right now. All that talent and now they have been putting some nice wins together....Zambrano is just untouchable right now.
  5. How can you not love him... the only problem I've ever had is when you just tune in the middle of the game and sometime it takes you a while to figure out whats going on. But the solution is easy... just listen to ueck and powell the entire game. Ueck is a living legend... and his off track stories and humor is what makes him great. Hes been doing it so long, he can't just sit there and not be creative. I'
  6. What problems do people have with Ueck? I can't say I've heard many complaints...what are they?
  7. Soup really needs to get back on the right track...ever since his complete game performance vs. his old team his ERA has gotten progressively worse every start. Maybe he should try some Eddie Harris tricks... - Crisco. Bardol. Vagisil. Any one of them will give you another two to three inches drop on your curve ball. Of course if the umps are watching me real close I'll rub a little jalapeno up my nose, get it runnin, and if I need to load the ball up I just... wipe my nose.
  8. Can anyone find a site that lists some of the rules and regulations for picking the all-star teams. I know in 2003 they took some of the picks away from the managers and put in the player vote, and I know each team gets 32 players with the last one being decided by the internet vote. But is there a rule on how many pitchers they take, is it somewhere around 12 or 13? What about how many starters they take vs. relief pitchers?
  9. What Brewers players better at hitting soft-tossers? and likewise with hard-throwers? Bill always says JJ is a great fastball hitter, but that could be a slow fastball or a 97 mph fastball. Mench to me seems like he'd be a better soft-tosser hitter.
  10. I have heard him on occassion say he had so and so in the lineup because he's hit him well over his career. But you're right it is not normal for him to do that. Those splits typically look good or bad because of one particular game... and really shouldn't have any indication of the upcoming game.
  11. That wasn't the case in the beginning of the year... with the Turnbow/Cordero domination in April. Unfortunately now... you're correct. I'll say it again, the only one I feel comfortable with is Villanueva. Even though Cordero has put together a few solid innings since his problems in Texas...he still doesn't look as solid as he was.
  12. per Brewers site
  13. The only reliever Yost didn't throw into the extra innings mix yesterday was Villanueva. If Sheets doesn't go at least 6, I think they'll be in a little trouble. Personally I'm not comfortable with anyone but Villy out of the pen right now so heres to a Sheets/Villy stellar performance. But I guess of Sheets wants to do it all himself I wouldn't complain.
  14. jj did not look so good running there. glad to see him leave the game and get rest. no way it woulda been a triple tho as shroeder suggested
  15. I wonder how long Weeks' wrist will continue to act up... because they have said they expected "flair ups" throughout the season. I was under the impression this meant a couple days off here and there, not a d.l. stint. I hope they gave him enough healing time where he won't have to see any more issues with it for the rest of the season. We don't even know what a fully healthy rickie weeks looks like..he's been riddled with hand and wrist injuries since he's been in the majors. I'm still salivating at his potential. But I wish I didn't have to use the word potential with him still...
  16. I'd be willing to trade for your charlie moore bobble head... and I do have an extra Sutton if your interested.
  17. Thats exactly what I was thinking... they've been facing a lot of righties so Mench is just a casualty of that i'm guessing. Kinda curious tho he didn't get really any PT when they had the DH.
  18. Weeks has not been activated yet... at least it hasn't been published yet. I'm guessing it will happen in the next few hours with the way Yost was commenting on it. I'd like to see rickie come back at full strength, I got him on my fantasy team, and i'd realllly love to drop jeff kent anyday now. Edit: I'm hoping its Gabe.... TGJ provides great speed that the brewers as a team lack. What is Gross exactly good for besides a walk now and then.
  19. is there anyone that would actually like to see bush come out for the 7th? he's at 90 pitches... Edit: little late on that one... but personally i'd like to see the pen, they should be rested. preferably wise.
  20. anyone know if there is site on mlb.com where you can check the status of the all-star voting? I saw them flash on the fsn broadcast that prince is narrowing the gap on albert...
  21. Bush is at 67 pitches...if he avoids a big 6th inning, he could easily get through 7.
  22. The Brewers plate discipline is really bothering me... after watching the Tigers and now the Twins lay off the majority of balls. Other than Corey Hart right now, they sure seem to swing at lot of pitches outside the strikezone.
