  1. Given that we have a 2 game lead over Philly and 5 games to go, I'd say games still matter. I get the difference between the 1 seed and 2 seed is smaller than the difference between a 2 and a 3 (because of the bye), but I'd still much rather play the Cubs/Padres rather than the red hot Dodgers or Reds
  2. Jordan Love is not Deshaun Watson, but right now it sure looks like his contract is one of the worst 5 in the NFL (with Dak Prescott). We made him the highest player in the league with that contract, based on 1 good month. Nothing wrong with being an average QB (we've been spoiled with B2B HOF QBs), but average QBs shouldn't make $50 million/year on long term deals. They are available every offseason on modest one-year deals. I was really excited this season once we traded for Micah Parsons, but that is fading a bit. The Packers are just not fun to watch.
  3. WTH. Now we put Mona in, after the horse has already left the barn. Murphy, do us a favor and get yourself tossed
  4. Couldn't help myself... stuck around for 1 more inning, just to see us get 2 more runners on base only to have another weak groundout for Ortiz... Why not PH Mona there?
  5. Yeah. Seems pretty likely he'll get through 7 tonight... We've had a couple of good ABs against him, but not enough, and too many 1-2 pitch outs.
  6. I'm not sleeping on the cubs yet. We have spot starters every game this series and then 2 series against potential playoff-bound San Diego and Cinci... We have beat up the Pirates and Angels, but have looked lackluster against about everyone else in the past month
  7. I agree Ed. He either needs more refining, or is gassed and needs to be shut down for the season. I love the potential, but he just isn't helping us right now, and I worry that too much adversity will stunt his development
  8. Yeah. We missed a big opportunity in the 1st inning with 2 on and 1 out. When we don't cash in early, really allows the opposing pitcher to lock in. Gotta keep the woodpecker mentality, but with how Miz is pitching, we're probably going to need atleast 5 to win tonight
  9. good grief... might as well tune out early... this game is not going to go well. He doesn't have it tonight. let's roll with Fedde
  10. Ugly first inning, but I'll definitely take only being down 1 with how that started. We're going to have to get baserunners in tonight though if we want to win.
  11. Actually, just remembered. I think we have Patrick going tomorrow and Gasser on Sunday, Might see a bunch of Fedde tonight
  12. Yeah, not the start we were hoping for... If he doesn't have it... might be nice to get Patrick in there early. A big deficit via Sonny Gray early might be fatal (for our chances to win the game)
  13. SALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great at bat. Back to fun Brewers Baseball!!
  14. Way to Go Perkins!!!!!! Never doubted ya (:P) Seriously though, for how much he's struggled since returning from the bereavement list, that had to feel good to get us on the board. Hopefully it gets him going
  15. Agreed. That was always my biggest fear as a youth pitcher (getting drilled by a comebacker or linedrive) Sometimes you can naturally react, but kids don't hit the ball as hard/fast as grown men
  16. Great analysis. I wonder if Murphy looks at stuff like this. For a guy that sometimes leaves our starters in long enough to start fires...
  17. Alright boys.... bases loaded, 1 out. Let's cash in please and take advantage of opportunities this time. Though Perkins is about the last person we want at the plate
  18. Man, the Cubs and Phillies really aren't giving us any help, each going 7-1 in their last 8 Last night was a clean, comfortable victory. Hopefully we have 2 more easy wins versus the Halos. Looking at the remaining schedules Philly (after tonight) has a cakewalk. I expect them to go 8-1 (or better) in their final 9... with a loss tonight, that gets them to 99-93 Cubs, I could see 3-1, 2-1, 2-1 to finish the season, that would leave the Cubs at 95-67. They've been on a roll lately though, and that 7-3 finish could easily be a 9-1 finish (which would make them 97-65) To keep the 1 seed, feels like the Brewers need to - win the final 2 against the hallos - win 2/3 versus the Cards - get atleast 1 win in SD - win the final series against the Reds 7-4 probably gets us the #1 seed, 6-5 probably get us the #2 seed, 5-6 or worse might get us the wildcard (and deservedly so)
  19. Q made some solid contributions to this effort this season, but I wouldn't want him on the mound in a playoff game that matters. Let's win tonight and keep the pressure on the Cubs and Phillies!
  20. Hard to complain about this one. Let's win a game easily gents. Would sure feel good to pick up a game today on Philly after how close they were last night to climbing within 1 game in the standings
  21. This is how I feel as well. PC/Mac/Fick have ruined Badgers Football. Though maybe it was going to get ruined anyways with this NIL stuff and a complete lack of continuity. In the 1990s, 2000s, and probably the first half of the 2010s, I never missed a big game, Badgers or not. I could tell you most of the Badgers 2 deep in any given season and it would be fun to speculate on who might be the next to take that next step. How things are too focused on style over any substance. Our team is lousy and everything feels "fake" to me. As a whole, I think NCAA football is failing. As older milleneals, and Gen Xers get older and have more interesting options in life, I think the "always bigger" TV contracts are going to go the way of the dinosaur, and the current system will collapse. Outside of the deep south (which sports wise has nothing beyond SEC football), I just see the country viewing CFB is a big "meh". If you take the focus away from building continuity in a program in CFB away, you are left with the NBA G-League, or maybe, at-best, MILB. Nobody pays attention to either of those leagues.
