We could have easily gotten Clay Holmes for the prospects we gave up. Many on this board were asking for him.. I don’t think any of Arnold’s deadline trades have worked. This year looks like a disaster

Really do not like this lineup. Really no excuse to be playing Naylor. have Sanchez catch and put Bauers at DH

Maybe, or he’s successful because of how we use him. as a full-time player through 1st Half 2025 he was nearly washed out of baseball completely. still confused how his Arby number (when he came over to us in the trade) was already so high given his whitesox career was such an unmitigated disaster

I definitely was expecting Pratt’s first year to be similar to Turang’s first year. his offensive contributions (with those baseline contributions) have been very solid. this version of Pratt, 2nd Half Joey, 1st Half Turang, this version of Bauers is a pretty nice infield

I think Bauers is a huge priority resign, either via QO or maybe a 2/$36M type deal (he may get more) if we have to choose Vaughn or Bauers, ai choose Bauers 100 times out of 100. Vaughn is a nice part time player. Right now, Bauers is our best and most consistent every day offensive player.

Tough assignment today with Burns on the mound for the Reds… but hopefully we can match them with another great performance from Gasser. He has been excellent lately. hoping MVP Joey, Mitchell, and Jackson can continue with the hot bats. I’m thinking we will have a pitching duel early and we will take the Reds bullpen out to the woodshed brewer’s win and Dodgers lost today takes the home-field magic number down to nine!

The Dodgers have a pretty soft schedule remaining… but I agree, if we go eight and five to finish, I believe that means the Dodgers would need to go 12 and two to pass us confirmed: magic number for home field is down to 11 after SaturdayMa action.

I don't think he would have been. He was pretty much on the roster because we were desperate for arms early in the year. Henderson was also out for awhile. If I had to rank our SP coming into the season (assuming everyone was healthy) it likely would have been: 1) Woodruff 2) Priester 3) Miz 4) Henderson 5) Patrick - Harrison, Drohan, Gasser, Sproat, Crow The fact that our Top 2 barely pitched this season, #4 was hurt for the first half, and #5 end up primarily in the bullpen, yet we still have the best record in baseball is crazy. Looking ahead to 2027, it would seem that Miz and Henderson are the only locks for the rotation, with Harrison, Priester, Drohan, Gasser, Sproat, and Crow in the mix for the other 3 spots, and maybe Patrick. April/May Harrison would be a lock, but June-September Harrison is JAG. I keep reminding myself how young that group is, so if we have a season, expecting some continued improvement/composure is definitely possible

I would say the trade (as far as impact on 2026) is a failure, with the potential to get better in 2027/2028 if we eventually get positive contributions from Sproat/Williams (negative WAR in 2026) If you're trading a legit #1 starter in Peralta (coming off 2025 season in which he was a contender for Cy Young), you'd hope to get players who aren't negative WAR in value. Granted, if we traded them for younger/less polished prospects, we maybe would still be waiting a couple years. In hindsight, Peralta has been very bad in 2026 as well, so it really ended up (judging by only 2026) as junk for junk. I don't think we "lost" this trade, but we certainly didn't "win it" either. Hoping by 2028 or 2029 we absolutely will have won the trade.

I guess is completely disagree. I think the advantage of having having Game 7 (at home) with Miz on the mound are MASSIVE. Maybe moreso for the Brewers than any team in the league. We've seen that teams are screwing around with the Mound and trying to get in Miz head. Maybe the mound is less of an issue for Henderson, but we absolutely want Game 7 in Milwaukee. Given we will have significant rest in the Wildcard Round, I think there is less value in resting our guys if there are still meaningful games to get that 1 seed.

I’m really pulling for sproat and hope he can be a key contributor next year and in future years. I’m just not sure at this point, though that he’s anything more than AAAA pitcher. He certainly has the physical talent, but I’m not sure that he has the mental composure necessary to be a solid, major league pitcher. Beyond Ms. and Henderson, I think there are some big questions for next year. Ken Harrison regain the elite form He had early in the season? Can Priester be effective and look like the picture he was in 2025? Does Drohan take the next step? does Patrick remain in the bullpen or do we give him another shot at starting? can Gasser build on some of his recent success to find more long-term success in our rotation? The Brewers coach coaching staff for pitch has been outstanding. I’m guessing someone not even on our radar right now could emerge next year as a plus pitcher for us. as you can never have too much pitching, I’m sure we will also target a young arm in the off-season as well edit: initially forgot about Gasser

this is the magic that we caught in 2018 that carried us to within 1 game of the World Series.... hopefully we can crank it up again this October. Good to see Miz have a solid start tonight
