that's about as far as he can hit a ball - too bad we are playing in Detroit, that's probably a HR in at least 1/2 the parks

It's not a good effort between pitcher and catcher when the guy is dusting himself off at 2nd before the throw gets to the base.

Almost 70 pitches for Durbin after 3 innings ----------------------------

At least we're getting baserunners on more often that not - more runners on means more stressful pitches for the starter. If a team is only hitting .200 with runners in scoring position, i'd much rather have them hitting .200 with RISP every inning.

Looking at the NL Central Pitching probables part of the thread makes me laugh - Jeff Weaver has an ERA on the north side of 12! It also makes me happy that the Brewers went after the right free agent Cardinal starting pitcher last offseason. It'll be even more hilarious if he ends up beating the cubs. ---------------------------------------

It's great to see that this team can put together a well pitched game with its bullpen in an emergency situation (although most of the credit goes to Villy - he was as good as you could expect last night). In seasons' past I remember some of those games when a starter was scratched, or left early with an injury - Brewers long relievers were not good (sorry 'bout that, Matt Kinney) -------------------------
