  1. I'll play it straighter: http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slides/photos/000/135/389/RackMultipart.29975.0_display_image.jpg?1262905317 http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51C0FeyY7fL._SL250_.jpg http://www.sportsbuy.com/images/oldordscans/new_thumbs/book/3506071.jpg
  2. 1-0 for Sunday, Brewers. Aaahh, I gotta go (to Milwaukee).
  3. I was thinking as I read NMF's posts above, man, what does his mother NOT have a problem with? We were at a niece's 7th birthday party yesterday, with a gift and no card. I don't think anyone noticed.
  4. Posting this for thablingster. They're even a lefty version: http://www2.fiskars.com/var/fiskars_amer/storage/images/frontpage/products/classroom/classroom-scissors/5in-left-handed-softgrip-scissors-pointed/16381-3-eng-US/5in-Left-Handed-Softgrip-Scissors-Pointed_product_main_large.png Or else he meant a photo of actual Narvdog: http://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/lacrossetribune.com/content/tncms/assets/editorial/0/1a/0b4/01a0b4a0-93e8-11e0-a21b-001cc4c03286-revisions/4df2f6e7dbdff.image.jpg
  5. Rockies 6, Cardinals 1. Time for another reminder of how improved things are for the Brewers nowadays: http://www.hardballtimes.com/images/uploads/astros_brewers000088_thumb.jpg
  6. As I suspected, I saw virtually none of this game - which announcer-wise sounds like good news for me. I did see Casey's bases-loaded backwards K in the 7th, and the 9th inning leadoff triple. So, how did Ax wiggle out of that? Kudos to Marco. Really. I guess thablingster knew what to expect when he posted Estrada's photo in the magic number thread the other day. Don't let up, Brewers!
  7. Today's reminder of how far the Brewers have come: http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/slideshows/873/slideshow_87343/display_image.jpg?x=509721 Here's hoping we can post some #38s later this evening.
  8. Yeah, keep going to games, umphrey. Speaking of the big screen, the Family Section Family of the Game sat right behind us, so when they were on the big screen, we were too. I thought quickly and put up a brief T before they zoomed in on the family and blocked my face with the family name. A camera operator returned to film the same family during the 7th inning stretch, and captured my left ear and left side of my cap in his shot. The junior announcer and his family were a few rows in front of us, and the crazy cap shuffle contestant was across the aisle in the next section. It was like we were at the center of the MP fan experience universe. Even without that component, it was a fun night. My Greinke fan crush has escalated exponentially. For some reason that I can't explain and won't pretend makes sense, the retro uniforms helped. In the 8th, I was just about to say, "Joe Beimel...I remember him," when bomb, bomb, he was gone, with his ERA raised about half a run. I understand why they hoped to go with just one reliever after Zack, but when K-Rod stepped into the batter's box, I immediately thought of Todd Coffey's at-bat last year that didn't turn out well for him. I thought there would be more angst over that move in this IGT, but maybe a lot of you were at the game. It's crazy, but the hawing party has already clinched a 2011 winning record in regular-season games attended. On August 12! Don't let up, Brewers.
  9. I'll be at a niece birthday party for most of this game. The family likes the Brewers, but the little girl not so much. So, try to keep things in check, Marco+; and bats/defense, this would be an extra good day to step up. 1-0 for Saturday.
  10. Actually, he did. Looks like he needs to go back for a Masters.I was going to say, needs to take anger management classes again. I partly wish this had come vs. the Brewers, though I'll be surprised if the "retirement" really takes.
  11. http://cdn.sportsmemorabilia.com/sports-product-image/ben-hendrickson-milwaukee-brewers-signed-8x10-photo-66-t303747-500.jpg Lacks the #40 on the uni, but it's still enough to bring back memories (or horrible flashbacks) for bf.netters who were paying attention then. (Edit: Or on the receiving end of some of Dad Hendrickson's very special PMs.) And here's a second Ben for your magic number pleasure: http://www.bestsportsphotos.com/image.php?productid=23760
  12. For some reason, I really enjoy entering lineups into the IGT when I can add "RHP Zack Greinke." Fan crush, reactivate! 1-0 for Friday, Brewers.
  13. I agree that it's weird to call up a starter and then start the guy who was last stretched out in like April. But since the chances of a "substitute for Narvdog" start becoming a Wholestaff night are probably pretty good anyway, maybe it won't matter in the end whether the starting tandem is Markie Estracruz or Franco De La Da.
  14. Here's hoping an occasional loss keeps the Brewers hungry. I'll still happily welcome them home at MP tomorrow night.
  15. JSOnline says Greinke Friday, Estrada Saturday. FOX was probably already regretting picking up Saturday's game anyway...prove me wrong, Marco!
  16. Getaway days/nights are kind of like Sundays, I guess. Brewers, you know the goal: 1-0 for Thursday.
  17. If things unfold this way, I hope you'll share your observations here. If 2-of-3 is meant to be, OK. But I hope the Brewers don't look owned ("owned", Nottso) on MLB Network tonight. (and of course, it would be heartening to have a reason to just point to my signature line tonight)
  18. Even as early as the 2008-2009 off-season, it occurred to me that to any fan for whom 2008 was the "first time" seeing the Brewers in the playoffs, it just won't be the same again. That's not to say it wouldn't be satisfying whenever and however it happens, but I think there is something to the 'first time.' (Disclaimer: 1982 was the first season I followed from beginning to end, but I was unable to attend any games. Thus 2008 in many ways felt like the first-time for me.) The insane degree of drama in the final two weeks of the 2008 season made it even more special. I titled my Facebook album of last-homestand photos "Brewers Dream Sequence Week." So I'm expecting the 'next time' to be a little less remarkable. Also, I wouldn't mind NOT having to count on just the right kind of swing in the bottom of the 8th inning of game 162. But ultimately, the clinching is the thing, no matter how it happens.
  19. I keep forgetting to look at our postseason mailings from the past. Chances are whenever they were mailed in 2007 and 2008 will indicate about when to expect them in 2011. Indeed, this brewers.com item indicates that season ticket customers will be invoiced in "mid-August." The Brewers are already willing to have other fans commit to a 2012 season ticket package (20 games or more) to be eligible for 2011 postseason tickets. Robin19, that "game 163" ticket is something I would never have thought of (and would never have received, as a partial season ticket customer). I guess you'll be our man in the field (bleachers) if MP hosts such a game. Edit: Our 2007 postseason invoice was dated August 16, and the 2008 invoice was dated August 15. So it shouldn't be long. Also, I could be reading too much into this, but the "My Brewers Tickets" system was "unavailable for scheduled maintenance" this afternoon and still is this evening. I would expect postseason ticket information to appear online before the mail arrives.
  20. That was their kind-of-sad attempt to save face, yes.
  21. Your friends with Brian Westbrook?!?! I do not know Brian Westbrook. I know someone whose mother's maiden name is Westbrook, and who told him he's distantly related to Jake. Probably too distant for them to have ever met. And my friend is a Brewers fan, so he's not going to let a little thing like blood send him to the dark side.
  22. A friend of mine is a distant relative of Jake Westbrook, so I have maybe .01% sympathy for Jake. But that's all. Keep going, Brewers.
  23. Though skipping 42 in this thread is probably ultimately for the best, I am slightly disappointed to not have an opportunity to post a swell photo I found of Tom Trebelhorn.
  24. A reminder of how far the starting rotation has come: http://theghostofmoonlightgraham.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/braden-looper.jpg Edit: I should say, "another" reminder. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  25. If Rzepczynski were a Brewer, I'd totally call him Scrabble. I'd also make a point of getting his shirt. Terrific surname.
