  1. I know it's a small sample for tonight, but Chris might be reducing the degree of zim-zam involved when Doug Davis returns next week. Yeesh.
  2. Maybe the message is that WSSP says a whole lot of nothing.
  3. Every pair of tickets we've sold from our season packages this year to date has resulted in a Brewers loss. My coworker is using our tickets tonight, and we are going tomorrow night. She favors the Twins and her husband the Brewers. Last year the Brewers won the game she attended and the Twins won the game I attended. One of these two microtrends will be stopped tonight. I hope it's the first one. Go Narv-dog - I challenge you to make the upcoming pitching decisions even more of a zim-zam.
  4. I think it caught the Madison media off guard too. Both Bob Lindmeier and Gary Cannalte were called in for the prime time severe weather coverage.
  5. Reminder of why not to friend your boss. In the Post-Gazette story, the former racing pierogi also admits " the races are not, in fact, always fixed."
  6. Oh, man, I hated that song before some of you guys were born. I agree that Jump Around is ideal for pumping up a crowd. It's been used a few times at MP in extra innings, but then the Brewers seemed to favor that "more cowbell" clip. Valpo, your post above might be my favorite post of yours ever.
  7. I think at least some of these cells blew up right over south central Wisconsin, which might be why at least some of the timing is off. Edit: Be careful if you're driving around Madison. Several Beltline exits are closed (Park St, Rimrock at least) due to high water.
  8. Every system they try seems to turn out to be a mess.
  9. Jody Gerut is still on the 15-day DL (retroactive to May 23) with the left heel injury. I saw him on the field after the Brewers won on June 11 and it looked like he had a walking boot on his left foot. So until Edmonds' shoulder is improved, the Brewers had better hope nothing happens to Ryan, GoGo or Corey.
  10. Riding the bus in to work this morning, the bus driver used his intercom to give an update on the Portugal-North Korea score, adding "how North Korea got in I'll never know."
  11. I think Cam had like 10 songs last year (thinking back to that at-bat music page the Brewers put up mid-season), so you've still got some work to do, thablingster. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif For myself, I've considered the opening to "Swingtown" by Steve Miller Band, which would get the fans involved (since you can't not sing along with the "Woah-OHHHHH") and thus make me as fondly remembered by the casual fan as Frank Catalanotto was in 2009. I'd need the fan love because when it comes to baseball or softball, I have only spectator skills.
  12. If you were a MLB player or pitcher, what would you choose for your walkup or warmup music?
  13. We are going to Sunday's (6/27) game but sitting with a group, which frees up our season tickets for the day. Section 217, aisle seats for easy entrance and exit. Note that 217 is a family section, so you cannot have alcohol in these seats. You can go elsewhere to drink and then return to the seats. Ask jflick1215 - he thinks these are great seats. Face value for these tickets is $38 each. We paid $32 each and are looking only to recoup our costs. Please PM me if you are interested. Thanks.
  14. I'm in the same camp as craigharmann, and while I have enjoyed the small degree of bf.net bonding that developed over the Diego nickname, I wouldn't miss Edmonds if he were gone. Unfortunately, he's banged up again, which might make trading him a bit more of a challenge. On a slightly related note, fans who are attending next Sunday's game can wish him a happy 40th birthday.
  15. Please hang on, Brewers. And happy birthday Davey Nelson! You guys can't ruin Davey's big day.
  16. Yeah, please stick around. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Rockiesfan.net (if it existed) would surely be burning a hole in the internets at this point. Bring Manny Corpas out again!
  17. Well, Yo...don't give it back. And the rest of you, don't make it easy for COL. (typed as Esco misses that first ball http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif )
  18. Well, young players for the tie, at least - which means no shutout! (I guess my expectations are lower lately.)
  19. So a week or so ago, my sister emailed to ask if we are going to the June 23 game, because she was planning to go with some of her coworkers. We have tickets to the game, so I said yeah. Tonight she calls (knowing that we have a season ticket account and can order by phone without service charges) and asks if I can get her four tickets to the 6/23 game. She'll reimburse us, of course, and the website shows that there are groups of 4 available...but I'm a little surprised her group waited this long.
  20. We've got some of our own already...but I'm curious: where would you have sat?
  21. Is there any STL pitcher - current, former, or both - who hasn't spelled trouble for the Brewers? This game's a relative bummer, but like others here I wasn't feeling good about the series as a whole.
  22. Team SoCal Brew Crew Fan has its work cut out tonight.
  23. This just made me realize that like our old "Counsellino" platoon at 3rd, we could call the CF platoon "Go Diego Go!"That's an outstanding observation, dlk9s. I miss our creative platoon names, like Counselnino and Grapler, so let's absolutely add to the lexicon. As for catcher's interference, I'd never heard of it until Craig's multiple instances in 2004. By then, it seemed like every time we went to a weekday game and got a Baseball Bingo card, my card would ALWAYS have CI on it. OMG Bush is out of the 6th! Please keep up the good work.
