    They played kinda fast with the timeline (which they can do, it's a movie) but we enjoyed it too. I thought Kate Hudson brought a decent southeast Wisconsin accent to her role.

    Super cold weather like Wisconsin is experiencing this month kind of bugs me, but what bugs me more is when an administrator at my work sends out an agencywide email with reminders of how to stay safe in extreme weather. Especially the parts of these emails (which also arrive during heat waves) that say "If you must go out..." when you know the admin composing this can work from home as much as they want.

    That's my initial take. I kind of feel like Daniel Vogelbach as a hitting coach will be either the best or worst decision. Maybe like the difference between a walkoff grand slam and a high-leverage strikeout.

    It's bugging me slightly that I didn't get this thread started earlier in the day, but in my defense I've been sick all week. In related news (because it also bugs me), I don't know anymore how to get through my SO's family Christmas without catching a dang bug. I even masked during part of the party. 🤧 🥺

    Five transfers plus the four players whose eligibility just ended represents just over half the 2025 roster. Eight players are expected to continue with UW. A Florida MB has already committed to transfer in to Wisconsin, and the incoming 2026 first-year class is highly ranked, but the Badgers still need more setting and back-row help. College coaching is turning increasingly like my attempts to keep my library operation staffed with college students: maybe once in a while I find an employee willing/able to work for me their whole student period, but most switch jobs after a year or year and a half. Managing that turnover occupies so much of my time, and I struggle to imagine how coaches will do the same in a much higher-profile situation.

    It sure is to me. 2025 may have been Kelly Sheffield's best single-season coaching effort. The sheer amount of roster turnover had many people across fanbases wondering whether Wisconsin would have a rebuilding year, and instead they reached the final four and did not roll over even in their season ending match.

    You had Christmas music into February?! 😧 The radio stations around here that go "all Christmas" cut off that spigot at midnight on December 26. For me that feels a little early - I would run it through New Year's Eve - but past January 1 is just nonsensical. You have earned your curmudgeon status.

    Oof! I've read that the tinsel can slice up a cat's intestines, so that cat you cited dodged a bullet. We haven't had a tree in our house for 20 years, for a few reasons: (1) space, as in what furniture do we have to store in order to have floor space for a tree; (2) cats, who also like to chew on needles and drink tree water; and (3) we're never home on the 24th/25th, so why not enjoy the trees at our holiday destinations. When we did have a tree, it was always real. We didn't want to contend with the storage space for a fake.

    Oh my goodness, that was just sad to see. Also the $1 rivalry baseballs filling multiple laundry carts. Time to take the L on some of that merch, Brewers. I still enjoy having a reason for a Milwaukee day trip, but the selection this year was underwhelming. Most of what I liked was not in my size. And of course, most of the half-off postseason merch was NLCS related. I really want to relive that, guys.

    Since these are being characterized as alternate road jerseys, I'd think the odd jersey out, so to speak, is the navy with the gold script Milwaukee. I'll miss that style if it is in fact phased out. I also can't fathom why they'd pair the new jersey with gray pants, unless that's somehow a MLB or Nike issue.

    This tweet has screenshots of the McIntosh message to fans. On first read*, I thought the message was "It's your problem too, season ticket holders. Pony up!" I know football is the load-bearing component of the athletic department, but I don't think the message is going to change anyone's mind. *For those of you wondering why hawing is weighing in on football, we got the email because we have season tickets for UW volleyball.

    At the risk of sending this well off track, I think an all-Pacific Time WS would be a logistics nightmare *for fans of those teams* (along with a general dream come true; I'm sure they can coexist). MLB will get its prime time ratings regardless of how much fans have to contort their lives to attend those games. I also had the knee-jerk reaction "OH NO WAY would MLB ever prefer the Brewers over the Dodgers in a WS." There are Faces of Baseball to promote.

    Based on our NLDS Game 1 experience, when it took us almost 90 minutes to travel the last 12 blocks to the stadium grounds, I would buy in advance. We were routed around to the American Family lot (I was that many days old when I learned that lot existed) and I think we were placed where buses usually park. Having said that, there may not be as many visiting fans driving to the games this series. But Team Canada is right that paying when you arrive costs more.

    Bud is 91 now (born about 6 months after Uecker) and is probably slowing down physically. As mentioned by Outlander, he did appear at the Uecker tribute day in August.

    I don't know how many of the NLDS 5 attendees read this forum, but compared to games 1 and 2, I noticed some more chc fans, but not an out of whack ratio as tends to happen during the regular season. Ideally, more Brewers fans would realize that showing up against this opponent makes a difference, and would continue to do so in future regular seasons. Not saying we live in an ideal world, though.

    Our season-seat postseason tickets are 217 and the price per ticket cited for any NLCS games is $155, WS $305. ($95 for the Division Series) In case that helps you gauge other prices.
