  1. Halfway through the season; hitting .313. Two for Four in game one last night with a double. Game two was suspended after 3 innings and he was 1 for 1 with a triple.... just say'in :) Oh by the way... 33 SB (8 caught); OBP .429. Lets keep sleeping on this guy!
  2. Wagoner should be on there. I think he'll be in Nashville shortly. Also Dubanewicz and Ibarguen.
  3. When you talk about "hate" and sports, I really don't think its meant in the conventional sense. Strongly root against?? ;)
  4. I don't believe either contract has a no-trade clause (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that). So, if someone were to offer something crazy, a trade is always a possibility. Especially for Pratt, given the infield depth in the minors. If you were to extend Turang, and Made, trading Pratt might make a lot of sense. I wouldn't like it, but its certainly on the table.
  5. It used to be the Cards. Two things have changed for me, however.... First, when CC went to to Chicago, I saw that as a betrayal. Yes, its a business...and yes, he got paid a boat load of money. But he could have gone anywhere else and the whole Brewer fan base would have wished him well and even rooted for him. He chose to go to our biggest/closest rival. He showed a complete disregard for the support and even affection he'd received over the years. That might sound a little soppy, but those fans are what keeps clubs going during the bad times. I really dislike that the local boy valued us not at all. So...while I used to enjoy the rivalry and thought it was kind of fun, now I root against the Cubs every day. (the whole "Wrigley North" thing also factors in ;) ) Second, we recently went to St. Louis for the series back in May. Fabulous experience. Really. Great people, good stadium tour, and we really enjoyed the baseball museum. The Arch is less than a 10 min walk from the stadium. The Amtrak/ Metro station is right there too. Baseball Village is really cool. So...while I'm NOT over '82, I do have an appreciation for their fans and the entire "baseball experience" in St. Louis.
  6. Add Pena and Dinges....not to mention they just sent a couple of pitchers to Biloxi, I believe. Heck of a roster.
  7. We were at the 'Rattlers game yesterday and it was a topic of conversation. The running joke was that 1/3 of that team will be in Biloxi by the end of the year.
  8. She certainly does. And I support that. But she's where she is and dressed as she for attention and a certain quasi-celebrity status. If she wants to do that, then fine, but don't complain when the club/county try to upgrade the stadium and it interferes with your Schtick. Edit...Maybe I'm being harsh...I shouldn't do that. But this is an important project and it seems to me she's using her "status" to turn public opinion against the project and/or possibly get herself grandfathered into the new seats. The club and county are working hard (and investing $$) to keep the facility (and the club) competitive. Lets not make their job harder.
  9. everyone else has this, it seems. We were at the St Louis series (in St. Louis) and took the stadium tour. Similar arrangement...difference was the lounge is behind the seat and under the grandstand...very short walk from the actual seats.
  10. Maybe its time she grew up and got a life. As a guy I certainly don't mind her, but at another level its a little tacky. I think the act has run its course.
  11. If this is the game where we look back and say "here's where Sproat figured it out", then this game was important, regardless of the outcome. Tough (make that weird) environment and a great performance. Murph, I think, knew to get him out while everything was very positive.
  12. Regarding Vaughn, I didn't look it up, but I seem to remember that the Sox had him play a little 3B...I'd guess he also played it in the minors. Its not like its completely foreign to him. They also had him in the outfield a little. I'd kind of wondered whether the Brewers would ever try this. At 1st, you need to handle line drives and hot grounders down the line. I don't know anything about his arm and surely range is a problem, but I wouldn't be against them playing with it a little bit. Playing he and Bauers together more often could be huge. The guy's hitting .360...how do you sit him down?? (these things don't last forever!)
  13. Nice! I'd bet the "incentives/escalators" are what took so long to hammer out.
  14. The way Lara is playing right now, I don't think there's much more up side (contract-wise), this year, anyway. I'd bet he and his agent realize that now is probably the time. He can't play much better, and any regression hurts his position.
  15. I'd love to listen to a deep-dive on one of the Pods regarding the decision the Brewers will have to make. Made is getting close enough to the bigs that if he's eventually moving to 3rd, they need to move him. Maybe its just a question of seeing how Pratt develops this year and dealing with a position change in spring training...but I'd look forward to hearing the guys pick that one apart.
