  1. I got through Christmas Eve with the SO's family without getting sick a few days later! (though I did mask for part of it) This is a legit win for me. Last year it was covid; in 2022 I masked for a terminally ill family member (and didn't get sick); in 2021 I caught something that was not covid. The pattern goes back much farther (including the mid-2010s year when one relative made a point of hugging everyone as they arrived and then told us all how sick she'd been).
  2. If there's ever going to be a mid-offseason fan event again, the Brewers will start promoting it during the preceding season. And to Bikeage's point, the 2024 clubhouse sale authentics area was trying to sell an Andrew Chafin gamer for $350. That's just asking for bad mojo.
  3. On time this time! Keep on keeping it random in 2025.
  4. Happy New Year! What's bugging you? This is my Brewerfan(atic) niche and I'm continuing it! (Before y'all chime in, I know that spiders are arachnids)
  5. Full season customers had a window to go on Wednesday and partial season customers could go Thursday. We opted for Thursday and it was okay. This is the second year they streamlined the discounts (like $15 for any short sleeved T-shirt, $8 for any player shirsey, $25 for a long sleeved t-shirt, $35 for fleece) and while I recognize it makes pricing go a lot faster for staff, I don't feel like the deals are as great as in the past. Still, I found items for myself and everyone for whom I was shopping (rest easy, Kalle!). The authentics section underwhelmed me. Not that I was in the market for much, but the jerseys were just about all 2023 people, and a lot of them coaches. The game used started at $350 (for Andrew Chafin? I don't want to rep him even ironically). A rack of game issued was $50 each and I opted for the obscure Bennett Sousa and Payton Henry (because one of our cats is named Henry, though not for Payton). A thing I don't usually see at the sale was some framed photographs for $100. They must have hung in a suite or office area in the park. I noticed one from the 2008 Postseason and thought, aw, nice - and then I realized it was from Game 4, infamous for both thundersticks and Jeff freaking Suppan - so it was easy to pass on that. Mostly I enjoyed just being at the ballpark. We had a bit of a time crunch and so did not visit the main store. A miscellaneous thing I noticed was signage indicating to not take the elevator to the terrace level, as the floor up there is being resurfaced.
  6. On that site we'll be BrewSky. 😉
  7. I saw a tweet last Friday announcing that the change would take place Monday. It wasn't much of a heads up.
  8. Ohhhh, this this this. I always hate the end of the season, whether it's in late September, early October, or well into October. The ushers in our section are used to seeing me try not to ugly cry on my way out of the park for the last time in a calendar year, and it's largely because I have to go 5-6 months between games. It might be different if the "last game" the Brewers play in a season is ever a late October/early November win, but they might be different tears too. I really try not to enter any series or season with specific expectations** beyond "woooo, a Brewers game!" That probably makes me un-American, but it also keeps me from sports making me overly sad or mad, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I truly prefer to just see what happens. Though it's obviously more fun when the Brewers win. **This applies less to chc and stl games. I do bring (typically low) seating-bowl expectations into those, but I still try not to bring on-field expectations.
  9. Oof. I was mildly annoyed that the Brewers had so few of those in stock. To get one at the team store you pretty much had to be present the night they clinched or maybe the next morning. I imagine they didn't want a ton left over, but their approach this time was almost the opposite extreme. At least it won't stop being true that the Brewers owned the NL Central in 2024. 🤷‍♀️
  10. Hoo boy, is this apt. 😐 I value the bf community, in part for things just like this.
  11. Thinking about this more, Underachiever, I think your biggest challenge will be simply getting out of the Kee. Some of my family lives there, but I would not call myself an expert on the best ways in and out of the village. It's likely the motorcade will go just from MSN to the event site on Division St and then back, and those will be the disrupted roads. Maybe if you head south to Middleton and then head east. Out of the way somewhat, but being out of the way of a secret service motorcade is probably good. Best wishes! ETA: it's the caravan that'll be using the interstate, per my mom who is watching local news live from Waunakee (where she is staying in her house).
  12. We are in the same boat, Underachiever. We're planning to leave Madison by 1:00 since the event in Waunakee is scheduled to happen at 1:30 (and based on my extremely small sample of attending political events over time, the candidates tend to be late more often than early). I think our fallback option will be to take 18 if 94 is badly disrupted. Having said all this, I've also wondered why someone in that position would be in a motorcade when they could fly. Waunakee is not insanely far from the MSN airport.
  13. I'm going to guess that LaprilOne got these because he's a season ticket customer, and not specifically through a presale.
  14. Maybe it's time for you to make a return visit to Wisconsin. 🤷‍♀️
  15. Oh my goodness, did this clip ever make the room dusty for me. I still think they should show Just A Bit Outside to the whole team. They're off Monday; that could be good timing.
  16. The GIF no one expected from hawing. 😉
  17. Haha. If the magic number is still 2 on Wednesday, we're going then.
  18. We have cats who are not fans of the carrier. Our vet provided us with a prescription for gabapentin, which we give them a few hours in advance to take the edge off. I mix it with wet food, which for them is a treat. I can see why that's bugging you, though.
  19. Spoiler alert: And Ozzie Smith telling Robin to get over it. Get out of my life, Ozzie. In non-spoiler news, Just A Bit Outside's stay at the Wisconsin Marcus theaters is extended another week, and it'll now also be shown in Gurnee, IL.
  20. If we were able to attend tonight's game, I would 100% wear my 2010 "Voodoo" Joe Inglett gamer. ✌️
  21. This'll bring back a memory if you're an OG poster around here. 🥰 https://yost.ytmnd.com/ (The volume's UP so adjust accordingly if you're at work)
  22. I predict you will as well. And I agree that the current team should be made to sit down and watch it as soon as they return to Milwaukee. I brought a handkerchief and was smart to do so. It was cathartic. 1982 was the first season I followed from beginning to end, and I really had no perspective then on what a big deal it was. I remember watching parade/rally footage, probably on the Madison news, and literally thinking to myself, "they'll get it next year." I've spoken/posted many times, including around here, on how I hate STL with the fire of a billion suns. This movie added a new and unprecedented layer of heat and hate.
  23. That has already begun. Rob Picciolo, Don Sutton, Pete Ladd. Even Doug Jones (though he's better known for his late 1990s Brewers tenure).
