  1. Part of the problem on the way in is the extreme amount of time that it takes some people to handle the ticket transaction. Maybe they need to have more signs up with the cost, and reminders to "Get your money ready". Sounds stupid, but I have no idea what takes some people so long. The Mcgehee 3 home run game was mentioned earlier - that was a day game. Nothing screws up traffic in the entire Milwaukee area like a weekday home brewer day game. It dumps an additional 20,000 cars on the roads at peak rush hour time. There really is no way around it - it will be slow no matter which road you take. My ride home alomst doubles on days that the brewer play a day game at home - I am hoping that this 3:10 start works out tomorrow and they schedule more of their day games at that time in future years...
  2. i am all for gamel coming up to dh. maybe it will light a fire under mcgehee...
  3. I am concerned. Too bad his "backups", Saito and Hawkins arent ready to go because I think he needs to find his control in non save situations for a while. Why do we ever have bobblehead days for closers?
  4. My answer is NO! I cant believe this is even a topic...
  5. How about sitting Prince and letting Gamel play some 1b. Prince has shown no desire to be here long term, time to give Gamel an opportunity to learn to play 1b as it is very likely that could be his spot next April. (To be honest, I am not even sure that I am on board with this - just an idea I wanted to throw out there...)
  6. I was expecting to see Yo transition into an elite pitcher this year. He has shown flashes, but even earlier in the season when he was pitching better, high pitch counts prevented him from going late into games (which I believe an elite pitcher should do). I do wonder if the pressure of needing to be the "ace" of the staff has gotten to him over the course of the year. He is still a young guy, and having everybody counting on you to go 7-8 strong innings everytime out to save the bullpen could have an effect on a guy. with that said, if he is truly healthy, I see no point in shutting him down this year. Every pitcher/player goes through slumps during the season and needs to learn to work through it.
  7. anybody hear a distance on his hr last night? edmunds too?
  8. You guys that are complaining about Uecker must not have Xm and thus dont get a chance to listen to what some of these other annoucers sound like out there. Uecker is one of the best out there in my opinion. There are a lot of slow innings over the course of a 162 game schedule. There is a LOT of air time to fill (especially when Doug Davis is pitching) - so if Bob rambles on once is a while in the early innings and isnt fully enganged in every pitch, that is fine with me. And I know that when something important is happening, he will be focused and letting me know everything I need to know...
  9. last year there were many black holes in the lineup with hardy, kendall, hart, cameron (yes, cameron - after his fast start he was a "black hole" for much of the season). At least Escobar and Gomez bring a speed factor to the lineup. A soft gound ball turns into a hit - beats waiting for a home run...
  10. so the big changes to the rotation are signing a a free agent to replace the starter that won the most games on the team last year? I realize that Looper had his shortcomings, but he kept the crew in enough games to win 14 starts. thats more than what many of the others could do. Count me as very disapointed if this is the end of the moves...
  11. What do you do with Salome if Lucroy is at AAA? Doesnt make much sense for those guys to be playing every other day in AAA. I would rather have one of them playing 2 out of every 5 games with the brewers and the other guy playing 75%+ of the time in AAA. Plus they are cheap and better players than Rivera!
  12. I dont like this at all. This is like the packers keeping 3 fb's on their roster all year, it doenst make any sense. it would handcuff moves late in the game because you are using a bench spot on a guy that can only pitch hit. if we strictly want a rh bat off the bench, I would like to think that we can come up with something better than rivera for $1+. I would prefer to see Zaun and a rookie (let Lucroy and Salome battle it out in ST) on the big league team. Let Zaun catch 100 games, the rookie 62. The rookie that loses out and Kottaras catch in AAA.
  13. why hasnt rivera been able to earn any playing time for 2 different managers now? they must know something that we dont. I think he would get exposed if he played much more than he does now. him being the answer for next year is scary - i hope they find something better than kendall and rivera for next year...
  14. i think that escobar is exactly the kind of offensive player that the brewers have been lacking. a guy who is most concerned about getting on base and causing havoc with his speed. look at how much nyjer morgan was a pain in the butt for the brewers in that nationals series a few weeks back. we have enough guys that are supposed to hit 20+ hr - lets get someone in the lineup that can actually get on base so they are not all solo shots!
  15. they are just barley in it at this point. What they need is for Dave Bush to come back soon and pitch like he did early this season. And, Hardy and Cameron have to get it figured out and fast. Those 2 guys have looked lost at the plate lately. Not to mention the Hall/Cattalanotto combo providing some production as well...
