  1. Ya it stalled for pretty much the whold top of the 6th. Seems to be back now again.
  2. I'd wait personally. I don't see any point in getting the first Xbox. As for Xbox Live, I think its like $50/year. PS2 doesn't have any real online support like MS does, its on a game by game basis. The online for PS3 is free too, but again, not as extensive at this time as Xbox Live is.
  3. I'm with jjgott, the Giants have just looked horrible in Chicago this week. That trend better continue through the weekend.
  4. Personally I think the bigger factor for JJ right now is not getting the breaks. Sure they're learning how to pitch to him, and he's swinging at pitches he shouldn't, but when he is hitting, he has been hitting it pretty well lately I think. Its right on a line, but right at someone unfortunately. Hall was doing the same thing before his little surge in numbers too.
  5. One thought on the long term winning, is I don't think that last forever. Take someone like the Braves, who won the division 14 years in a row. They have had attendance issues for years now, even in the playoffs, and I'd have to guess getting accustomed to winning has something to do with that. Of course, it may be getting accustomed to winning the division and losing in the playoffs.
  6. Again, I don't blame them for using the system, but this is just funny. Even Lee is upset about Young working his way around it, while he talks about how he's working around it; Emphasis mine.
  7. If the loop hole is there, you can't fault them for using it. I'd feel pretty fortunate if the shoe was on the other foot. However, it should be noted that over on the Cubs MLB forum, their upset that Young wrangled around his suspension, but not complaining about Lee getting around his.
  8. Last time I actually just rented a car for about $40 and drove it between the airports. I was traveling with more than one person, so it was not only cheaper that way, but with much less hassle.
  9. Well as far as how severe a penalty he might get, you have to remember guys like Pacman got those penalties after several run-ins mostly. And also, this isn't a guilty verdict, this is a grand jury, there's a difference. This will obviously stay with Vick for a long time, but personally, if after how much they tried, they couldn't actually charge Vick with anything, I think it'll be interesting to see how a trial plays out.
  10. I'm pretty sure you can use a card if its not confirmed. Its been awhile though, so I'm not 100% on that.
  11. Graduated from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2000 with a BFA in Illustration. I'm going to guess I'm about the only MIAD alum on here. Sports fans where few and far between there. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif I worked several jobs throughout college. My freshman year I worked in the library. My sophomore year I started working in the student union and I worked there for 3 years. I also worked for PJ Subs on the Eastside starting in my junior year and for awhile after college.
  12. No worries, that's understandable. Thanks for the update.
  13. If Jenksfan can't get it from you, my friend would love one. I'm not far from the Eastside and would gladly run down to get it. I tried to buy one from people on Sunday but nobody would do it.
  14. I saw a post on the Cubs main site today that said his hearing was initially set for July 2, but MLB decided to wait until after that ASG, and no new hearing date has yet been set.
  15. I don't think I've found one single person who doesn't hate that Who's Now segment.
  16. Kruk was also ripping on CoCo's little sign of the cross thing he does before he pitches last night. ESPN really seems more excited to see the Cubs take the division lately. They even had a story on espn.com the other day titled "Something Brewin'" and it was about the Cubs. Seems like if the Yanks can't turn it around, they're going to jump on the Cubs boat.
  17. Its been a long week with no Brewers games. I'm excited to get back to the park on Sunday.
  18. For after the game, it depends on where you're staying and what kind of atmosphere you want. For my money, Brady Street offers the best variety. Some bars that are loungish, some holes in the wall, a blues bar, some "younger" crowd hangouts. And if that doesn't suit you, you can grab a quick ride up to North Ave and there's a decent variety of bar types there, including more sports orientated bars like BBC and Hooligan's. www.bradyst.com/ Bastille Days is a good call too.
  19. Man, remember when people actually stole over 100 bases a season? With the addition of Rickey, maybe Reyes will do it this year. He already has something like 46 doesn't he?
  20. Ya, I'm going Sunday as well. Have fun man, and I hope the city treats you both well.
  21. How the heck do you leave Pujols on the bench at that point?
  22. And they do it for a lot of milestones. I know they did it for Biggio's 3,000 as well. I believe it was the final 10 hits there as well.
  23. Hawing was super enough to actually track down the quote I was mentioning earlier, so here it is; "A baseball is a sphere with a diameter of 2 7/8 inches. The batter stands at home plate and grips a tapering wood cylinder that has a maximum diameter of 2 3/4 inches; he tries to defend a strike zone that is approximately seven baseballs wide and eleven high. The pitcher, from 60 1/2 feet away, throws the ball at a speed of about 90 miles per hour. As it spins toward the plate - hopping, sinking, or curving - the hitter has four-tenths of one second to decide whether he should let it pass by, jump away to avoid being maimed, or swing. To get "good wood" on it, he must connect squarely with a 3/4-inch portion of the ball's round surface - and then hope that none of the nine defensive players catches it." I don't know, that's always stuck with me. I read it to my wife and she said, "That makes you like baseball?" Anyway, thank you so much to hawing for doing that, that's really amazing. I've looked for that again for years. Thank you hawing!
  24. I have MLB 2K7 on the 360 as well, and ya, I've had to up the difficulty level a couple of times now. The difficulty levels aren't impossible leaps like they are a lot of the time in EA games. I do like to make sports games oddly challenging as well. A lot of times in football games I'll intentionally get down big in the first half, and see if I can come back. What I've done recently in 2K7 is simmed out the season to near the end a couple of times, until I had the Crew to the last week of the season, trailing the Cards by 2.5 games and I'm working on taking the division then. I think its more fun that way. By the way, did anyone notice in MLB 2K7, there's a Hall of Fame and they have Yount as a Cubbie?! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif
  25. I agree that Suppan has looked pretty good in at least 2 of his last 3 starts, he just hasn't been getting the breaks. Hopefully it all comes together today.
