  1. Just so you know, Gameday says; "John Axford is having trouble locating his four-seam fastball, missing the strike zone with his last three." Oh.

  4. I was just telling my nephew on Saturday night that sometimes teams come back from large deficits like these in the 9th inning. I don't really want to be proven right this way.
  5. Is this a Gobias Industries sockpuppet? It's a little early to say Weeks is awful now. He had a bad base running blunder in the opening series, but he hit well against the Rockies.
  6. It's funny to argue that a pitching staff that has been hammered and is already taxed after one week of baseball, the problem is having that 13th pitcher.

  13. I admit to be surprised last night that Front Row Andy was back again. My sister-in-law even called me to ask what the deal was with him. I would agree that Amy doesn't do anything at the games to draw attention, but Andy obviously is. I think his shtick is funny, but it tires quickly. Other fans waving at the camera has existed forever, and will continue to do so. How many people go crazy at every game from being on the scoreboard? The excitement of television is even more.

  16. Correct, the Dixon brothers have never been in the comic. I think they're about the only main characters that aren't.
  17. I know this thread is about streaming, but I felt the need to point out, Netflix just shipped me an extra dvd because the one on the top of my queue has to come from a different distribution center and will take longer to arrive. I've used Netflix for well over 5 years and I've never had that happen. Well done Netflix!
  18. As a word of caution, having prepaid parking doesn't necessarily get you a spot if you get there to late; as I learned the year my friend decided to go to work for a few hours before going out to the park and we, very very slowly, got bounced from lot to lot until we finally had to leave the stadium area and go park illegally on in the neighborhood streets north of the stadium. Good times, good times.
  19. Depends on what kind of experience you want. In my experience, the general lots on the south side of the stadium are far more of a party atmosphere. The lots on the north side, especially the preferred lot, are still active with tailgate parties, but less rowdiness. There is also a smaller preferred lot sort of in-between, by the buses. The bus groups are normally pretty party heavy and that lot is a pain to get out of after a game.
  20. Ken Rosenthal had recently reported that Lohse wanted to top the deal Dempster got in Boston, which was 2yrs/27m I believe. I'm pretty mixed about this signing. It makes us a better team this year, but I sure wish it was a 2 year contract.
  21. Blockbuster doesn't offer a subscription for its streaming, it's still pay-per-view. Redbox started a streaming service, but I've read the selection is even worse. I tried Prime on a trial last year and was even less impressed. Netflix streaming was better about releases early on, but they've had a lot of push back from the movie studios to get those rights. If the kids didn't use the streaming so much for kid stuff, I'd probably drop it at this point. I've actually been going back to a physical Blockbuster store to rent DVDs, but just last week they jacked up their prices on all of their services, so I doubt I'll keep going there. The movie industry seems to have learned nothing from the mp3 battles of the past and is doing what they can to keep people buying DVDs and doing PPV. They've developed Ultraviolet, which still forces you to buy each individual dvd/blue-ray disc and then you can stream it with a code. Woohoo!
  22. In past years I've seen people puking, fighting, making out and flat out passed out, but it has seemed much better the past two seasons, and not as full of wild crazy drunk people. Those people still exist no doubt, but I don't think it's as crazy as it has been in the past. To some degree that's because I park in preferred parking and it's not the same party atmosphere in that lot as the general lot, but even inside the stadium is better. As for inside the stadium, I don't think Milwaukee fans are great about not getting up between innings in the first place, so I don't know that I consider that any better or any worse really. The bathroom lines for the men are ridiculous on opening day though, although a lot of times if you just walk down to the next bathroom there's basically no line. Also, while you need to get to the lots earlier than you would any other game, you don't have to be there when the gates open just to get in. I would be sure to be out there by 10am though.
  23. Not to get anyone's hopes up, but I finally got my tickets today. It came in a big USPS box which it doesn't normally come in. All of my tickets are in wire bound books. I've done Fan's Choice for almost my whole time as a ticket holder, so I don't know if they just did it different this year, or it's just new to me.
