  1. gesh like some people stated here....brewer tickets are some of the cheapest in baseball... then paired with the fact that ( we hope ) is getting re invested into the team so we can enjoy ( for once ) winning seasons I see no issue. Now i would be upset if the money was not put back into the team ....so as long as that payroll goes up and the team has a decent competitive team thats enjoyable to watch...then I think its all fair.
  2. he only does good when it dont matter. Gald to see him go to be honest with you
  3. Im to mad right now to type a full answer but I have to say this team has done nothing to show improvement at all
  4. Now I am flat out mad about Feilders comments about fans booing as turnbow walking in a run the other night. I guess next time I cheer turnbow as he walks in a batter.... but that might cause me get beat down by other fans for cheering
  5. "shrugs" But math is still on our side.... just stay the course and dont panic
  6. name one closer that has not done that? .... ill wait for your answer so if coco stinks then why even keep him next season and just let turnbow close then hu? Give it a rest, if a closer out there never loses games or gives up run I can promise you they will never be in a brewers uni There are bigger issues like that lack of scoring with RISP that is more of an issue then cocos one run HR
  7. come on guys to blame coco is a little bit of a reach here.... the guys been good all season and every pitcher is gonna have thier off days and they dont really pick when that is going to happen wanna put blame, do yost, councell , weeks, just not coco
  8. Welp that was the Final nail for the season. What a Joke councell is hes my hero of the game...I mean 1 out and a guy on third...cant get that guy home and then strike out trying to BUNT??!!! I saw the game being lost right there when that happend "wait till next year" Whatever.... Why should I wait till next year when thats the SAME bs ive been hearing year after year. I hope the cubs do make it to the playoffs so they can CHOKE! in the first round
  9. I said that from the start of the season...this had to be the year. Only because teams will only improve and get better over the offseason. You can bet on next year or any year being "the year" you have to take what is givin to you and you run with it. I too will not be happy with a 500 record or a few games over. Thats just crazy thinking. I look at Ari and see the young guys there too and wonder how that team can be doing so much better then the brewers yet they were supposed to be a year or 2 behind the crew. Mind you that division is out right nasty with the Pads and Dodgers... I just can only sit and wonder "what if"
  10. That has always been my biggest fear as far as Ned was concerned. The past few years, injuries and lack of talent have been the main reasons for the Brewers struggles. However, even amongst that, it was still quite clear to me (and some others) that he made far too many poor decisions. Illogical choices and bad baseball philosophy seemed to appear very often. He seemed to be putting the team in positions to lose. For example, he refused to use Cordero for 10 straight days (a 10 game losing streak, I believe), when many of the games were close. Stuff like that was a huge red flag in my eyes, and lo and behold, he hasn't changed his approach at all and that very issue has become a real problem again this year. The team stunk last year anyway, but he never helped. He was given a free pass last year due to all the injuries. I wanted Yost to be replaced in the worst way this last offseason. I felt like the team was getting talented enough that Ned's tactical blunders could become very meaningful. I was probably one of the most outspoken critics of Ned's, but was repeatedly told that I just had an irrational hatred for him, and was reminded incessantly that injuries were the reason for the collapse last year (even though I never blamed Ned for the really poor overall 2006 record). This year, we seem to have by far the most talented team in the division. I feel that my worst Brewer fear is coming true, that Ned will hold them back from being a playoff team. I really, really hope Ned Yost is not our manager in 2008. Ehh things happen I guess. Talent alone can only carry a team so far in the season. I do admit ned has come around a bit...not a whole lot over the course of the season , but he still has that stubbornness about him. I recall Jenkins last year where he refused to sit him ect.... Bush at the start of the season was left out to hang himself. I think ned is also worried about hurting feelings much more then he about winning games. Its amazing how flaws loom even larger when the team is competing. Brewers need a manager that can get it done. I also have a few issues with the batting coach too. As far as I am concend he can follow ned too...theres no reason to swing for the fences all the time. I also think...not sure what people think about dillion... that dillion has been a good present to the lineup on a daily basis.... I am glad ned uses him now.... We get a new batting coach, new manager, this team is gonna be very good. I dont understand why the team does so bad on the road...it reminds me of last season when they were on the road, you just prayed that they would win at least one game in a series. The real kicker is, new faces but yet why the same problem? I dont blame ned for tonight ...but last night in Houston I do. Bad bad management with pitching...turnbow with men on is like holding a live light firecracker in your hand. This is just one example. OOOO and another thing before i finish my babble here.... The thing that irks me is when for the longest time he was saying " Dont panic" ... I wonder if he understands now why there was a panic. Blah...just hope a split is still possible
  11. ive always said that its the managers job to knwo when i guy is not preforming....usually the pitchers. Tonights loss wasnt not in any means neds fault though, but there have been many this season that have been. remember Bush being left in the game to long to hang himself at the start of the season? wish you could have a few of those starts back? I do ...thats just to name a few
  12. Please, find me one single post that claims the Brewers struggles are all Ned's fault. You won't, because it's never been said. Even the most aggressive Yost bashers simply feel that he doesn't put the team in the best position to win often enough. It sounds minor, but in pennant races that come to to 1 or 2 games, it is extremely important. The manager can be the difference between making a missing the playoffs. I agree there are a few games I know that bad thinking from ned has costed the brewers games...before it was no big deal cuz the brewers were never here at this stage.....and now that they are it makes a huge difference
  13. yes I am so sick of it. I was jumping around when the brewers fought back at the start of the game to tie it again only for AS last year cappy to come out and give up to more runs.... OOO AND THEN WHERE DID THE OFFENSE GO ONCE AGAIN AFTER THE 3RD INNING????? does this team not realize its a 9 inning game and not 4?
  14. I almost beleive it was just a roust from doug and the FO to say..."well we tried" so when the crew slide and finish at best 500 if not below we will still believe in the team saying THIS WILL BE THE YEAR!
  15. how about a bat for jenkins and weeks? those are the 2 huge holes I see right now!
  16. But for how long? how big of a hole will the brewers dig themselves next time they are on the road?
  17. well every part of me hopes you are right cuz like many other fans ...have been waiting for so long...and always hear "next year we ll get em!" and yet never do..
  18. its been said and ill repeat it...win now is an attitude you need to have....cards and cubs both now will spend freely and even if the brewers improve.... what makes any of us think that next year will be any better if not worse....you gotta take what is withen reach and the playoffs are withen reach right now...and yet might not even have a chance next year
  19. ive always liked bush....just thought that ned left him in a bit to long but that is for another day... Like you said bush has been one of our better pitchers as of late and I have to agree....with sheets out hes almost looking like and ace besides gallie...I am almost happy with the SP staff to be honest when sheets get back Rather just trade soup if that was at all possible...but you can always dream right?
  20. does the draft look any good this year?
  21. any more news on it I went to sleep hoping this would be a done deal when I woke....
  22. needless to say I hope I wake up in the morning and become a very happy fan
  23. thats good stuff and when they say doug usually shoots it down if its not true then they are right on in that thinking ... GOOO DOUG!
  24. well after a wise man guided me to the fact the game was on ESPN I took the time to cheer for the phillies! Cubs always seem to lose when I watch and guess what they lost again! I am to the point I should just watch cubs games so the lose more and say to heck with the brewers games hahaha. SO when are they gonna fix that pit they call wrigley field? I never got the point of the BP mounds being in play like that and one day someone is gonna get hurt bad... came close today already
