  1. With the Helena Brewers struggling a little bit in the second half, I was a little concerned how they might fair in the playoffs. I must say, it will be interesting to see how they finish out. Time to step up and FINISH STRONG! Gindl is hanging in there and I don't care if he is only 19 now, GO WIN THE BATTING TITLE! It's real easy to be average, just show up! To be GREAT, one must do what others don't or won't. Go Brewers!
  2. Where can I get this complete write up at? The "Goldstein Report".
  3. I have been listening to Helena quite a bit because of Gindl, adding Laporta tonight will be sweet! This team has got some sticks. Here's to a great 2nd half!
  4. isn't this the guy that scored on a tough play last night, showing unbelievable speed and then taken out the catcher? I heard he BLEW the catcher up! I love this guy!
  5. Igor, you're not raining on Gindl's parade. Let's not forget that no matter how we nit pick on his game, let's remember he is still the steal of the draft, period. The kid can play! The organization has quite a bit of talent in the OF and remember he was clocked throwing the ball in from the OF at 97 MPH. Refine the defense, let the speed of the game slow down a little bit on the base paths and all will be fine. Ah, to be 18 again!
  6. I believe you are talking about Wilson. I agree, he has been on fire. Great Stuff.
  7. Helena is playing some great ball. Garcia is throwing well. Gindl is back and 3-3 3 rBI 2 runs scored, Wheeler hit a 2 run dong. Just gotta love it!
  8. based on what is available on the net, aren't these $$$ right about the slot $$$ throughout? These players might of demanded more, however, it seems to me that the Brewers gave out honest $$$.
  9. Rumor has it that Gindl is playing today for Helena. Any truth to that?
  10. ahhhh, the steroid generation! I am an old time baseball guy that has loved the game for the smell of the grass, the smell of hot dogs, the smile on kids faces and yes, the crack of the bat. We now almost always think of enhancers when we see players do things that normally aren't done. It is a shame, but..... My hope is that we can get back to the old days where what separates average players from great players is hard work, the love of the game, and pure "Pete Rose" hustle. Of course without the gambling http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif "God Given Talent" doesn't hurt either. Do you think we'll ever get there again?
  11. Thanks for the welcome, Jeenius! biedergh, no worries! I don't know if Caleb will grow anymore or not. What I do know is that he seems to be having quite a bit of fun at Helena and the team seems like it is starting to come together a little bit! Pitching coming around, getting clutch hitting. Should be a fun year! The Brewers have been very good to me as of late, I have Hardy and Hart on my fantasy team and the way the big club is playing, this small market team could be around for awhile based on the Farm! Getting back to Gindl, let's not forget, he does run a 6.8 60. I have heard that the average speed is 7.0.
  12. I have watched this kid play baseball for quite a few years here in Florida and it is exciting to see how he has started off in Helena. But you know, he has done this at every level he has played at. There has always been talk of his size, however, he always bats third in the line up whether it be in high school, all star games, showcases, whatever.... What I notice about this kid is that he just "loves" the game, period. He is a humble young man that comes from a great family. You never know what the future holds, but it is a lot of fun to watch and listen to. Continued success to Caleb and the Helena Brewers. The Capt!
