  1. As much as we like Davis, he doesn't get more playing time with Gindl going to AAA, they are going to platoon Schaffer and Davis now. This gives moe playing time to Schaffer
  2. I don't think it's about the money, I don't think he wants to play for the Brewers, just saying
  3. Great point JohnBriggs, the Brewers have to score 6 runs to win when their ace is on the mound. I think Greinke never was right from his injury last year and if he can't get his ERA down, this team will struggle w/o Prince and Braun. There is no one they can get to replace those numbers. Melvin has two choices, go with the "G" men, or trade them to get experience.
  4. Not only that, we got boys playing in PR and VZ. It is awful fun watching the playoffs and seeing the Brew Crew doing so well.
  5. Thanks Mass, I'm just getting old. He looked good yesterday though.
  6. I am watching the Florida/TN game and is Brewer playing DB for TN?
  7. Everyone on here knows I'm a huge Gindl fan, love the kid. I think what's interesting about Money's interview and article is that he is old school and the school of thought is "you don't air dirty laundry". With that said, player's win 1 run games and managers lose them. The opinion he shared on his players (whether we agree or not) is his perception, which guess what? Perception is reality. Nashville had more 1 run games this year than any other team and lost most of them. There is enough culpability to pass around, however, the big club is on a roll, has a chance to win it all and that should be the focus. These kids are gonna be fine because what life teaches us is to work hard everyday and good things will happen. There are no shortcuts to success.
  8. Congrats Taylor, you deserve this. Know we're all pulling for you. Imagine how this kid feels. So great!
  9. Way to go Prince, just had to go there http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. Great point, just looked up rf on MLB.com. There is only 24 players at 10 hr or better as of today. Only 13 3b over 10. 30 hr guys today, is like 50 hr 20 years ago. Ironically enough, there is 24 1b over 10 as well. There is only 136 players in all of MLB that are at 10 hr or better.
  11. Rams, haven't seen you on the board much but your comment about Gindl's arm is comical. The only thing you got right is he's 5'9". You should probably know that he was actually scouted out of high school as a pitcher. Made a living at 92 and hit 95. Yoshi was referring to a play in spring where he caught a ball at the fence in right field and threw out a giant tagging from third. As far as Green, he's not Brooks Robinson, but he's raking like you read about. Both have great attitudes and are team players, chemistry guys. So if you don't think they deserve a shot, who does?
  12. I have a quick question... When do the Sept call ups happen and hpw many players can go?
  13. My goodness, that was a BOMB! The Sounds are just crushing the ball right now. Nice to see, I was at the game in Nashville that Gamel hit two and his were line drives that were climbing as they went out. BOOM!
  14. The outfielder situation will work itself out on it's own. Injuries typically is the biggest reason why movement happens. Remember, hot streaks don't last long, a great year comes from how short the slumps are. The big club love Gindl and Schafer, they'll get a shot. The others will get theirs in due time.
  15. i got a chance to watch the stars this weekend. Just so happened to see Salome in a Huntsville uniform on Sunday in the dugout, add him to Lawrie, Cain, Gindl, Gamel (even for the short time left), Wheeler, Green, Haydel and that's a potential killer lineup. Unfortuately, pitching is a little thin there. I saw Rivas pitch Saturday and although he didn't have his best stuff, he's the real deal. His slider is A+.
  16. He is fine, maybe out a game or two. Nothing to worry about! Cheers, GO STARS!
  17. I saw he got a hit in his first at bat and there was an injury delay and he waas replaced. Anybody know?
  18. Too funny, all this stuff about Gindl's arm, REALLY? Do you all remember after his year at Helena, the next spring he played with the bigboys against the cubs. Fly ball to the fence in right and the kid threw out Derosa tagging up from third. The kid just throws rockets. I'm excited about him coming to Huntsville as well as the rest he came up with. That group has made the playoffs every year. Should be a great year and guess what? He still only 5"10 and 21 yrs old http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. two brewers: yeah, I know him. I was fortunate to watch him play high school ball. Pensacola had a group of baseball players the year he graduated that were pretty special and fun to watch. Two other from that class, Adron Chambers (Cards, FSL) and Drew Cumberland (Padres, High A) all were drafted out of high school and have done quite well to date. I now live in Nashville so you can imagine how excited I am that Gindl is with the Brewers as I am 2 hours from Huntsville and of course the Sounds are right here. I think when I comment on this young man, I reference the coaches and managers he has had since being drafted. The group the brewers drafted that were together in Helena, WV and then Brevard have done quite well. My hope is Farris, Wilson, Wheeler, and now Schafer all land in Huntsville next year and I get to watch this group all year. So here's to a great off season and I look forward to next year! Cheers, CK16
  20. I absolutely love this kid. He has a plus arm, decent range and the ball flys off his bat like no one his age. Every year he has gotten better. I think he will hit for average and power (20-30 dingers) the higher he goes up because of his plate discipline. The strike zone gets smaller the higher you go and the fact that he is of high character, this kid will continue to impress. He seems to go out and prove everybody wrong every year, seems like he is humble and hungry! Can't wait till next year, love to see the crew in the playoffs!
  21. I noticed Gindl went on the DL, anyone know how he is doing and when he is expected back?
  22. It doesn't matter what sport we talk about. If they can't score, they can't win. If you look at the top baseball teams year in and year out, the ones that make the run at the end are the ones that have three top studs. Look at the Giants this year. Couldn't play with the Brewers last year, this year with Linecum, Cain, and whomever (Johnson?) they are blowing away the Brewers with less sticks. By the way, Linecum and Cain came up through the farm.
  23. I have no idea what the Manatee's field looks like, however, the write up says his HR went over the batting cages. How far is that.
  24. He must be hurt, didn't play in the All Star game, didn't participate in the home run derby. Hope it's not bad. Team is on a roll.
  25. This kid has to prove himself everytime out. I loved his moment with the big boys the last spring training game against the Cubs. 1-3, threw out DeRosa from the track. He'll be back in the top ten before long!
