Silver lining: the Cubs have a greater chance of making the playoffs and summarily being escorted from them yet again. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
I just hope the rest of the staff doesn't use this injury as a chance to suck like they did when Sheets went down last year. I hope this doesn't mess with the team's heads, at least when they are on the field.
I tuned out after the first with only intermittent glances at the CBS Sportsline scoreboard to see if anything interesting was going down. Nothing could have happened that I couldn't have found out about via a check of the box score or MLB Gameday tracker. I'm pretty close to a die-hard fan, but a 95%+ loss is what it is, the only thing relevant to the next game is who got used from the bullpen and how hot the hitters are.
I'm more worried that the Cubs are scoring 8 runs a game and we're scoring 3-4. Echoing the common sentiment re: Turnbow. He has no more worth to this team. We can't afford to play russian roulette in this pennant race. At least with Riske/Mota/anyone else out there they actually make the hitters work for the run.
She's not very articulate and her body language is awkward. She will improve a little bit, but she reminds me a lot of Ann Carroll (the pregame show host from earlier in 2007).
We are in a playoff race. In a playoff race, you use your best players to get in a position to win. Parra, so far, has been better than at least 3 of our starters. Therefore, he should start, now.
Haven't we vowed that every year? Yet, it still happens. Yup. Hopefully this is the bottom, otherwise things will be pretty grim the rest of the year. Optimism and thinly-veiled denial from here on out.
