My question was when do the 2015 terms stop and when do the 2016 terms kick in.
  2. 1992casey
Does anyone know exactly when Ryan's no trade clause kicks in? Is it the last day of the season, after the World Series, or maybe as late as Opening Day?

Yeah I don't understand the service time concerns for these guys. For a player who's never seen the Major Leagues, 20 days in the minors will gain an extra year of team control. That's huge. Avoiding super-two is a much lesser concern; all that does is cost the team more money in a player's third year.

I've found that Cubs fans are frequently a pain at the ballpark while Cards fans are fine. On the other side of the coin, Cubs fans have been great here on Brewerfan. We've had a lot of issues with Cards fans, though.

It's time to take a permanent break from this topic.
  9. 1992casey
It disappoints me the Brewers didn't acquire some AAA player and give him his shot for the remainder of the year. That can still happen. However, if Logan is given a shot for the rest of the year, maybe the team will learn once and for all that he isn't an option moving forward.

Do catchers move very often at the deadline? I would think it'd be a tall order to come in and start working with a new pitching staff in the midst of a pennant race.
  12. 1992casey
Addison Russell singled off Jungmann with two out. Had he scored, the run should be unearned.
  13. 1992casey
Brett Maverick Phillips. His parents must have been western fans.
  14. 1992casey
We had the "Braun to 1B" discussion last winter, and someone came up with a really convincing reason not to move him. Danged if I remember what it was.
  15. 1992casey
From the updated link in the lead post:
  16. 1992casey
The pickup is being discussed in this topic: Schafer & Thornburg recalled; Herrera's contract purchased; Preston Guilmet claimed from Dodgers and added to roster Feel free to add your comments there.
  17. 1992casey
We're still awaiting tonight's potentially amusing lineup.
  18. 1992casey
I'm going to close this because the Thornburg recall has been included in an existing thread: Schafer & Thornburg recalled; Herrera's contract purchased He's also mentioned in the roster thread.
  19. 1992casey
Better question is why the Cards even want him? Unless they know their magic potion can fix him immediately? Broxton's 3.07 2015 xFIP would suggest that he's pitching better than his ERA indicates. That would seem to make him a reasonable acquisition depending on what the return turns out to be.

…Sometimes condescending leads to clarity. … I'm standing by stupid Condescending conflicts with Fan Forum Etiquette. You need to find another way to seek out clarity.
  22. 1992casey
I respect your love for Gomez, I'm just saying that it's stupid. Totally unnecessary condescension.
  23. 1992casey
I was impressed by how hard Carlos worked to learn English. He didn't know any when he became a pro.
  24. 1992casey
An impact driver is probably a good idea, although I rarely use a drill to drive screws. I don't see it helping me see the slots in the screws any better though.
  25. 1992casey
"Favorite" is subjective, and "since Molitor" indicates a preference for Paul. I don't think there's anything to dispute.
