  1. Did you continue on to read the rest of my post before you quoted me on the "lifeless team?" Just asking.
  2. Well, you have successfully defended his honor. I hope that you and he aren't too upset with the booing he is sure to receive if the Brewers roll into town on the same note they rolled out on.
  3. I don't see how what I said is unnecessary, given that we're discussing his comment. I think it was a stupid thing to say, and I don't think Corey is a genius, thus, I'm not surprised he said it. You act like I kicked his mom's dog.
  4. Corey doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed based on the things I have heard him say in the past. What does he expect with the way the team has played? Not to mention the collapse last season. It's time for the Brewers to put up or shut-up. Everyday, blowing the WC seems more likely, and I for one think that if they blow it again, heads should roll. And not just Ned's. I was at three losses last week, including CH's bobble day, which might have been the most pitiful of them all. The team seemed to be sleep-walking through the games. Now, I don't think that they weren't trying, nor am I trying to throw out some anecdotal evidence. My point is that I'm a pretty die-hard fan, and more knowledgeable than some, but it looked bad, and I can see how fans would feel the way they do.
  5. It has been decided that the Brewers' play is just too horrific for HD. I can't agree more.
  6. Does anyone NOT think the food was better at County? That's not nostalgia talking. At least as far as sausages go...I don't go to the park to eat Chinese or a pizza or whatever.
  7. And two brewers makes the best point so far. Oh, but the one usher that patrols the upper deck per year may catch me...
  8. Now, instead of carrying in great food from outside, like Fred's custard stand on Vliet, I will have to pay more, and will wind up with glorified cafeteria food. It's not just all about price. Nothing out at the park is all that outstanding. I certainly wouldn't make a special trip to eat any of their offerings. Crap served in a plastic hat is still crap, and can we get someone in there that knows how to cook a hot dog? I like mine to have some grill flavor to downplay the fact that I'm eating testicles and snouts.
  9. This would anger me about as much as anything the Brewers could do. I won't pay $10 for a hot dog and bottle of water. As someone who goes to a lot of games, I can't afford to do that, and time doesn't always allow for eating beforehand. This move would alienate me and my family and cause us to attend fewer games, I'm afraid. The Brewers may not have a problem with this now, but who will be out there when they suck again? The people who are going to be most affected by this are the ones who kept the park warm for everyone else.
  10. As per ESPN, Carlos left with arm trouble and rarely hit 90mph tonight. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=280902116
  11. Who wrote that? Seems like they have a little axe to grind with the Brewers. "Good for him?" SHouldn't his reversal or lackthereof be based on whether it was a good call, especially as a major milestone is on the line. Oh, and as far as whining and crying goes, I'm not a Ned backer, but this was a major call and should have been treated as such at the time and now. Objectivity should win out here, and most everyone not directly involved agrees that the play should have been an error. We sure are petty for wanting the first no-hitter in the last 21 years. This same no-talent clown writer will surely come up with some story of post-season magic should the Brewers finally taste October success.
  12. I say yes. A list of his accomplishments would be a reminder of an excellent season, playoff push and one of the finest stretches by a Brewer pitcher ever. What does everyone think?
  13. Frank Robinson. If you ask me to explain, I fear I may use one of my three strikes. Suffice it to say that he has treated various generations of my family shabbily over the years. And how has Julian Tavarez not made this thread? Pete Rose: 'cuz he was such a swell guy. Curt Flood: for ushering baseball into the modern era. Jose Canseco: see Pete Rose. Jeffrey Leonard: for playing up to his number. Franklin Stubbs:see above Brewer players on the '93-2004 teams (too numerous to mention): for sucking Gary Sheffield/Barry Bonds: for crimes against baseball/humanity Daryl Strawberry/Doc Gooden: for flushing it (both literally and figuratively) and finally, Ken Griffey Jr: for missing company softball game due to gigantism (most likely caused by consuming too much nerve tonic)
  14. I'm surprised that everyone is in such a twist about the seeds. This is a BASEBALL game right? Eating sunflower seeds at a game is hardly unorthodox. Some of these ushers seem to get off on getting in people's face. He didn't commit a capital crime, and could've been asked politely to stop, which would still be a little absurd, imho. Again, we are talking baseball here, not the opera. The players spit loads of them in the dugout, but dude in the bleachers has to bring a receptacle? What's good enough for the millionaires we're there to watch should be enough for us.
  15. We are one hitting coach away from a dynasty.
  16. The Brewers looked bad before this series, though. They played lousy vs. the Stros and really were fortunate to win as many in STL as they did. Lots of guys stranded. Without the late heroics, we are really sinking fast. We don't belong in the same park with the Cubs right now. That could change, of course, but there is reason to be very concerned beyond getting swept at home by the Cubs. We mortgaged some of our future for this year, and are likely facing some major off-season losses. Gotta make hay while the sun shines.
  17. Yeah, I am also glad to see him out of the division.
  18. Yeah, I am also glad to see him out of the division.
  19. The season is over? No, but this week sort of has me wishing that it was. Yay for synchronized swimming from Beijing!
  20. I like the Braunie thing and Brew Crew. For some reason, I love to call Rickie, Rick. As in, "Come on, Rick. Let's go." Maybe I've sensed that he's not long for a Brewer uni and don't wanna get too attached http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  21. Rluzzy is absolutely right.
