  1. I think that some sort of a "posting for dummies" item should be available. I'm starting to get the hang of it now, but I would have caught on a lot quicker if there were some simple instructions as to how to register on EZ board and here, put together a good post, adjust preferances, personalize a post, find good sites for info and stats, etiquate, explaination of the Jargon used here (link report, power 50, etc...) etc... you get the drift.
  2. The Bucketheads bring a fun atmosphere to the game, and could be a really fun tradition getting started here. At the same time I want the Buckethead leaders to go. There was no legit baseball talk in the entire broadcast. Granted the Crew didn't give them much to work with. Maybe if they were allowed to tell the truth about how bad the team is without sugar coating everything over. They spent almost the entire night laughing at their own dumb jokes about people in the stands. At one point, they were so busy circling people and laughing at the crowd that I missed the first 2 strikes of a count and only caught the last second of the pop fly off of the first pitch. Isn't it possible to get a September call up for announcers?
  3. down 3-1 in the 2nd. Sheets having some trouble keeping it in the park. He'll need to keep the curve balls lower in the zone if we're going to even have a chance tonight.
  4. A nice day for Billy Hall (3-4, 2 doubles and a HR). Congrats to Wes for finally getting the win, hopefully they will come easier for him next season.
  5. It kind of seems like an insult to Wes to bring in Rusch at this point. They'll probably bring in Viz to bail him out of whatever kind of trouble he gets into. Hope that they can hang onto it for Wes's sake. 6-3 crew top of the seventh Clayton continues his dominance in "clutch" situations...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  6. Just looked at the box score online. Doesn't look pretty. I realize that he got shelled, but how did Wes look? Did he look terrible, or did he just have an unlucky night?
  7. An interesting ending... but the stars go down. Thanks for the great season guys.
  8. I was at a party the other night and a friend started ripping on the crew, so naturaly I got a bit defensive and stuck up for my team. I mentioned "the streak" and how much harder the team was playing this year, and the minors, and new management, etc... After a lengthy but effective rant, I realized the game was still on, and flipped on a TV To my horror I saw Cubs fans DOMINATING the crowd, and making a mockery of the brewers and miller park. I was really embarrassed and ashamed for the first time in a long time. My buddies aren't going to let me hear the end of that one for a long time.
  9. As of the Bottom of the third today does not look like our day... Going to have to step up the level of play. Stupid mistakes will kill the streak fast!
  10. "That Mavs boxscore has got to be the craziest I've ever seen. What was the point of doing that anyway?" There is nothing else going on in High Desert... so why not.
  11. I am not going to get too stressed out about the pitch counts of elderly 5th starters. If this was a young pitcher such as Sheets, or one of the prospects, heads would be rolling. I'm glad that Ned is making distinctions between pieces of the future and pieces off of the scrap heap.
  12. Franklin pitching well... Pods for ROY! 4 in a row?
  13. I have never been able to watch a game in which Obermuller pitched. He obviously got lit up tonight, but does he have good enough stuff to start in the majors? Is it a confidence thing, stupid mistakes, or does he just not have the talent?
  14. Did I just read something POSITIVE from David?!?!?!? Awesome time at the Snapper game tonight. Weeks showed that he has a cannon, he just might need to aim it slightly better (one throwing error tonight.) He also got hit in the head with a pitch to load the bases in the 8th. Gwynn continues to look good in the field. 14,000 for minor league baseball? Who says Mil. isn't a baseball town?
  15. The "Bucketheads" kept commenting that he looked sick. I didn't get to see all of the game, but there were times when he looked as if he wasn't feeling 100%. He did look pretty good for about 3 innings. His curve ball was working well and he was attacking hitters. I didn't see the rest of the game, but obviously something went wrong. I don't think that he looked injured so much as just under the weather.
  16. No way do I bunt in that situation. With that caliber of a lineup coming to the plate, I would take my chances on a big inning. It would be a good situation for some of those kids to learn that they need to lift the ball at all costs, and avoid hitting anything on the ground.
  17. Watching the Bucket Head Brigade last night was fun. Probably not the fans most intent on watching the intricasies of the game, but a group that was having a lot of fun. That sort of atmosphere is what puts butts in the seats. I think back to all of the years that the Badgers were awful, but it didn't matter the fans went nuts the whole time anyways. When I was little we took some friends of the family from out of state to a game. The Badgers got creamed, but nobody left. The 5th quarter was as wild as ever. Our guests were looking around in disbelief. The wife looked over to her husband and said "didn't they lose hunny?". The Bucket Brigade could grow into a very fun tradition. I think that next season they should have it WAY more often. Anyways, here's to a great Brewer WIN!!!!!!!!
  18. Listening to the game: Parra not sounding like he is pitching too well. I have been in and out listening to the audio, but the announcers have not been too flattering. Already given up 2 solo shots after four innings. Tied 2-2 (Hinton with a solo shot and SAC fly)
  19. Perhaps a Prince or Tony Jr. promotion? Parra would certainly be an addition to the awful staff in High Desert. But then again I think that Parra will be on the "Jone's track" of skipping the hitters haven in the desert. They need to give them someone who could be the teams star with Belcher out now and Nelson no longer around. This team would be PATHETIC without someone who can hit the ball! Edit: Never mind. I forgot about the organizations intentions of sending two or three of the teams to the playoffs. At this point I will completly disregard any box scores or game summaries involving High Desert, unless something miraculous happens there.
  20. I like the idea of sending Raburn to H-ville, he certainly hasn't been spectacular at A+ , but he is old enough that if he can't cut it as a back up utility / second basemen in AA then he will probably be overlooked by the organization. He should certainly be able to compete for a job with Barnwell Taking Belcher from High Desert would be disastrous to the players, fans, and partnership in High Desert. Belcher and Nelson need to spend most of the season there. Ramirez would be an ok addition to High Desert... it would at least show them that we haven't forgot about them. Or have we? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  21. I thought that Hinton's blast in the Beloit Game was a home run for sure. I think everyone in the stadium did too. I was surprised to read in the game summary that it was only a single! Oh well, still won the game for them. Gwynn looked good. Pretty good plate presence and pitch selection. He also went back on a couple of balls very well, and ran down won that looked to be a hit for sure. He hit a ball fairly deep (warning track) and everyone thought that it was gone... myself and a guy behind me who knew his college stats just laughed.
