Was Jenkins at the Beach building another sand castle-- Nice hustle. I guess you get in the habit of walking back to the bench. Nice effort in backing up Clark.
One other factor seems to be into play tonight-- It is Saturday night and there seems to be a nice size crowd. So the Brewers seem to put on their worse showings to large Home crowds.
Wise must not have been good enough in Neds eyes once the game got close. Time to give up a couple more then Wise is good enough. Wise was up when the thought of a big inning was possible before buddy Chad put an end to that fun. Now back in the same old hole.
Everything on this board is a small sample. Well here is a big sample for everybody-- the Brewers have stunk for years and will continue to stink over and over. There. I am happy someone else also pointed out that the "stars" in the minors that should be playing in the majors according to some seem to be having trouble with minor pitching. General rule is that you don't get better by seeing major league pitching if you can't hit minor pitching. ? Will your small sample of this year actually be a sample when May 12th rolls around and the Brewers will again be trolling the basement of the NL Central and one of the 3 worst teams in the NL. Enough of your Brewers fantasyland. Time to smell the coffee and see what the Brewers for what they are really worth.
Too bad Bud couldn't have scheduled a few more games against the Pirates. It is nice to see the real Brewers take shape as they play some real teams in the NL. Look out basement, there comes the Brewers. vs. Pirates 4-1 vs. non Pirates 1-4.
Schroeder-- I thought the rule was that you could not take first on a wild pitch or passed ball 3rd strike unless there was 2 outs and first base is occupied. I didn't think it had anything to do with a player on 1st stealing.
Welcome to the reality of the Brewers. To others teams their lineup doesn't strike fear into the bodies. There just is not enough in the Brewer lineup to make a dent against real teams. The only thing that makes this year any different than other years is that the Brewers got lucky and opened up with 5 of their first 8 games against the lowly Pirates. And they were able to win 4 of 5 against those Pirates. I would already guess Yost will be wondering about his job on May 12th after they play a number of series against teams that will do nothing but beat up on the Brewers and put them back in the basement with the Pirates.
I knew the Brewers would be in trouble tonight when Belling thought the Brewers were going against a not so good pitcher in Suppan. The mighty Brewers always make the lesser pitchers look like Cy Young winners.
Just a couple days ago I was being ripped for not being Mr. Positive on the Brewers and all their great success against the Mighty Pirates. Now reality is setting in against a real team and All the Positive World Series types are feeling a little down. Face the facts-- the Brewers are just a poor team that will dwell with other 2 or 3 bad teams in the NL again.
I would guess almost all Jenkins HR's have been solo and mostly meaningless. When ever someone is on base you can usually count on the roller to second baseman.
