  1. ...but how do you put something in your signature?
  2. Brewers letting out a lot of frustration from their loss last night. I like that. Hopefully they will get into these rages more often.
  3. I work third shift and I feel like it is 10:48 PM even though its in the AM. Whitewater has made alcohol my worst enemy now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  4. Well, since I work third shift... my Brewer knowledge is a bit rusted since I rarely get a chance to see a game. I have been so busy with work in Whitewater that I haven't even had a chance to attend a Brewer game this season http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif I could write an article about Rickie Weeks and Prince Fielder as being the "Bash Brothers" of the future. I am not much on stats, but I do make historical comparisons very well. Maybe I can do an article on Carlos Lee and how he could be one of the best power hitters in Brewers history. When was the last time we had a true everyday man who has proven himself elsewhere explode with the Brewers?
  5. I am one of the biggest diehard Brewer fans around. Heck I was born the same month the Brewers went to the World Series, I was exactly nine days old when the Brewers won the American League pennant against the Angels in 1982. I am so loyal, I almost know every player who played every position in a given year. I am a total name guy for the Brewers organization and even was named "The Brewers and Baseball brain" of my high school class when I graduated in 2001. I have writing experience. I used to cover Beloit Snappers' games a couple years ago for the Beloit Daily News and have done some sports reporting for Kenosha, Whitewater, Oconomoc, Palmyra and the aformentioned Beloit. I also am aspiring to use my degree in journalism to become a minor league baseball reporter for a city that has a team. I wanna become more hardcore. I got clips. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  6. Well, I just got home from the bars of Whitewater. I am a bit "buzzed" but since I live with a cute girl I decided to go home with a somewhat pleasant demeanor. Last thing she wants is a puking male roommate. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif So I am home just chillin now. I also just realized I misplaced my toothbrush, so now I gotta either a) use my index finger, b) walk my butt to the nearest gas station and buy a travel pack for the 75 cents I got left, c) Do the forbidden and use her toothbrush, which is forbidden in my moral standard. Since I moved into a smaller apartment, my whole car has turned into a virtual storage closet. The parents won't be impressed when I go back home for an unprecedented 5 day visit this Sunday. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  7. If I were Doug Melvin I'd fly to Tampa to be as visible as possible to make the players paranoid and psyche them out. There is nothing worse than players seeing their GM lurking in their hotel lobby as they check in. Either that, or maybe they should have a team meeting to address all of these problems. Honestly, I covered college sports at UW-Whitewater and I remember sitting through a volleyball team meeting where every player had a chance to speak out with their feelings. Something needs to be done to light a fire under their (expletive). The offense is just plain sad. My thinking is they should maybe try and acquire a veteran 4th or 5th outfielder because what happens if Jenks' gets worse and worse? Who do we got? Chris Magruder? And having Dave Krynzel is counterproductive because he needs consistent at bats and he won't get them in Milwaukee.
  8. Here is the game thread of the game today sports.espn.go.com/mlb/pr...=250612122
  9. Sorry about the Jenkins. I just wish he would bat at least .280 and hit in the clutch whenever possible.
  10. What is the deal with all of the wrist protection Weeks has? Another thing, we could really use a good winning streak. We are now 5 games under .500. I guess its easier said than done.
  11. Weeks has a good eye, wish we could say the same for the hack Jenkins.
  12. I just looked at Jenks stats and ever since he was a rookie, his batting average has diminished. I have never ever seen Jenks hit a three-run shot in my entire life.
  13. It is pretty sad that Geoff Jenkins, the veteran offensive Brewer can't get anything done on offense when needed and then our two kids Billy Hall and Rickie Weeks get it done. Something tells me the previous organization never taught sensible hitting in the minors because honestly, they should have taught Jenks better hitting mechanics in the minors before he made it to the majors.
  14. Ricky Blowtalico gives up a three-run jack. This is starting to hurt. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  15. .... to Tampa Bay. Greg Reinhard was a hard throwing junior for the Warhawks and went undefeated last season and helped the team win the National Title. I wish the Brewers would have drafted him. He is a good guy. I had a drink with him a couple times at the bar in Whitewater.
  16. Don't worry about Montalbo. The reason he left after four batters is there was an hour and a half rain delay in Beloit and it took forever to put the tarp on. He was iced.
  17. Went to the Snappers game tonight as a fan. Luis Pena had a nice outing, 1 ER through 6 innings. He did a good job. My fellow homeboy Vinnie Rottino hit a two-run jack. But Gilberto Acosta needs to raise his atrocious batting average. He is well below the Mendoza Line. Palmisano has a good eye at the plate, drew a couple walks. But you'd think Palmisano would knock some out of the yard because he looks really strong and built.
  18. This is the punishment I get for being a college student. I spend a ton of time studying and started watching the game in the 11th. Dang, I shoulda tuned in earlier... but I went to the Snappers game instead tonight. Not a bad game there either. I'll save that for the minor league thread. By the way, two more posts to go to reach 100 for me. I rarely post here but have been a lurker for the last 3 years.
  19. Oh My God! Wes Helms with the jack. How often do these things happen to the Brewers? Hopefully this can boost Helms up and set the tone for awhile.
  20. Thanks MassBrew. Much appreicated. It was weird last night because I was right outside the Snappers locker room and then went in and I saw a pro baseball clubhouse for the first time. It was cool being in there. Since my hometown is in Racine, I had a chance to chat it up with Vinnie Rottino after the game. Turns out he knows some people I know.
  21. Maybe the reason Bill Hall has been struggling as of late is that they are batting him eighth. That is just not good for the guy. It seemed like he hit better in the two-hole than at the bottom of the order. Hall saw better pitches when he was batting after Podsednik because Scott put pressure on the pitchers with his stolen bases and Hall had Clark and Sexson due up to protect him more. Hall isn't getting any pitches to hit when he is between Perez/Osik and the pitcher spot. They need to shuffle the lineup because we need to get Hall better pitches to hit. How about this? CF Podsednik SS Hall RF Clark 1B Sexson 3B Helms 2B Ginter LF Smith/Vanderwal/Conti C Perez
  22. Excuse me, but wasn't it me who first complained about the amount of Cub fans this series and how we are being intimidated? I was the first that posted it in the game thread yesterday. Well anyway, as I said before... the Cubs got away with a ton this series. The Brewers got spanked by the Cubs, and we got spanked by the Cub fans. There should be no excuse why we couldn't have drawn more Brewer fans. The state of Wisconsin fan base is a total joke. Here we draw more interest in a Packer pre-season game than a Brewer regular season game. The media should also be to blame for completely ignoring this whole matter. They have not once reported the amount of Cub fans in any reports on TV. Maybe if the media would have taken the Brewers 10 game win streak more seriously instead of "Packers Blitz" or "Packers Extra" we wouldn't be in this mess. In Chicago, they don't have most of their newscasts dedicated to the Bears or even the Cubs for that matter. Wisconsin is a total joke, if the media wants to be taken seriously they need to stop with the insane Packer coverage, broadcast and print wise. If the Brewers wanted to be taken seriously, they should have done more to retaliate after Sexson getting hit by Juan Cruz. They only hit Alex Gonzalez, big deal... Gonzo retaliated himself... and nothing happened after that. It is sickening right now, my friend is an usher at Miller Park and said this was the worst series he has worked in his five years with the Brewers. Ulice Payne needs to wake up and smell the coffee, we got embarrassed in our home turf. And we did nothing to defend ourselves. Pathetic and pitiful.
  23. This is utterly embarrassing. If Milwaukee wants to gain some respect as a baseball town, maybe we should start outnumbering Cub fans in our home stadium. Every time the Cubs visit Miller Park, Brewer fans just don't go to the games. It is no one's fault but the Brewer fans for not buying a ticket to these games. How hard is it to order tickets and go to games. Also, the Cub pitchers showed the Brewers up big time in last night's (Friday) game and the Brewers didn't even bother fighting about it. Come on now, we need to start beaning people. Sexson, our most stable player and only proven player, was hit by a Juan Cruz pitch last night. Then the next inning, Sheets hits Gonzalez and then Gonzalez attempts to take out Bill Hall. Why can't we just go after these Cub players? Us and the Brewers need to make a statement that we will not be messed with. Hit Sosa for all we care. At least it would send the message that we won't be pushed around. When was the last time we ever did something like that? The Cubs have pushed around a lot of teams this year, the Reds and then the Cards in the previous series. Alfonseca bumped an ump and then Alou could suspended. Sosa was suspended for his own incident, so we need to send a message to Chicago and the Cubs that this is Milwaukee, a baseball town, and we will put up a fight in every angle. We can lose all we want, and lose the right way... but when it comes to pride, the team has shown no defense this series and the people of Milwaukee have shown no pride. If Milwaukee is such a baseball town, then why are we being outnumbered by Cub fans? These are supposed to be our rivals, but we are getting beat right now.
  24. Mike DeJean has blown way too many saves this season. How many saves has he converted this season? I don't think his ratio is not that good. The Brewers need to give Leo Estrella a chance to close games and have Danny Kolb set him up. But DeJean really gets on my nerves. He gives everyone heart attacks when he is on the mound. Too many runners on base.
