  2. Darn it. I had some time on my hands and decided to draw a Brewer hat on Griffey's headshot with bitmap and I can't even get it to work. Griffey as a Brewer? The above link should work.
  3. I will always remember his short-lived stint with the Brewers back in 1998, I believe. I think the reason he came to the Brewers was to attempt to get revenge on the Indians for releasing him earlier and the Brewers were challenging the Indians for a possible playoff spot at the time.
  4. Everyone believes the beginning of the end was when Herb Kohl bought the team. But the Bucks have the worst revenue deal in all of basketball. None of the stadium revenue from concessions goes to the Bucks and the Bradley Center is now considered obsolete. But where can we build a new Bucks stadium in an already tough to fit downtown area? And the taxpayers are still upset over Miller Park, so the building of a new Bucks' arena is waaaaay out of a question unless Kohl is willing to fork over a substantial amount of money. Once Kohl sells the team, can we say "St. Louis Bucks...Cincinnati Bucks....?"
  5. Revised offer: PHI: P Dave Bush PTBNL MIL: P JC Romero OF Michael Bourn
  6. Rickey and Julio won't be together on the same team. Franco DFAd and Milledge up.
  7. The Phils interested in Bush? Hmmmm.... To Philadelphia: P Dave Bush IF Tony Graffanino To Milwaukee: IF Abraham Nunez P Ryan Madson
  8. When or IF Yi Jianlian comes to the Bucks, I wonder if he will be abused more inside than an alligator wrangler? And why do the Bucks insist on signing nothing but "shooters" who can't even shoot? And I seriously wonder if defense is in their vocabulary.
  9. Rickey Henderson's teaching techniques to Jose Reyes: Rickey: Rickey believes you should time your pitches when on the on-deck circle. Rickey did a lot of that when Rickey was playing ball, Rickey was great. You gotta believe in Rickey because Rickey knows how to hit the ball. Now Jose, what was your last name again? Reyes: You know I do more than just get on base. I also steal bases. Rickey: No one will ever be as good as Rickey stealing bases, Rickey was greatness. Rickey bets he can steal more bases than you even though Rickey is the hitting coach. Rickey teaching Julio Franco: Franco: You wan't me to do what while hitting? You know I am older than you. Rickey: Rickey doesn't care. Rickey believes you should crowd the plate more, it makes you get on base. Rickey says you should crowd the plate more to intimidate the pitcher. Franco: Yeah, ok. (Rolls eyes)
  10. Yi Jianlian is the latest of basketball players who are not keen on being a Buck player. Agent or not, should this even be considered "news" or put in the "no, duh" file? The Bucks have not gotten any respect since they lost the Conference finals against the 76ers 6 years ago. First they traded Ray Allen, Kevin Olle and Ron Murray for Gary Payton, a guy who never even wanted to play in Milwaukee to begin with, and Desmond Mason. Then they subsequently traded Mason AND a first round pick to New Orleans/Okla City for Jamaal Magloire who in turn was traded to Portland for a bunch of spare parts. Then they lost Payton to free agency (big surprise there) and when the Bucks picked Andy Bogut No. 1 in the draft two years ago, Payton made a mockery out of Milwaukee when he was on the Best Damn Sports Show and had an opportunity to poke fun of Milwaukee while interviewing Bogut himself. Then they traded an oft-injured point guard for an oft-injured swingman who was thrusted into the power forward position. It seems like Larry Harris has changed his rebuilding plans every year, or doesn't even have a rebuilding plan at all. Where is the team identity right now? We got Michael Redd, who takes himself out of the game when he isn't having his best of shooting nights. We also have a guy in Yi "E" that doesn't even want to play and his dumb agent is trying to force a trade from the Bucks and then we have an injure-prone Charlie Villanueva. We have an injure-prone "Ron Artest-light" in Bobby Simmons and a child molestor in Ruben Patterson, who for some odd reason, forgot to register as a sex offender in Cincinnati in the offseason. Doesn't Patterson "have guys" that can remind him to do something as simple as that? On top of all of this, we can't even get guys to come to Milwaukee even if we sent them to Silk Exotic every night to satisfy their "taste buds." We have more logjams in the frontcourt than a Chicago traffic jam. No one in the frontcourt even knows their role anymore. Bogut is supposedly the "rebounder" while Villanueva sometimes walked around in circles last season wondering what he was supposed to be doing out there. We can't even begin to trade Simmons and his salary for even a basket of balls and when was the last time we actually had a perennial all-star draft pick with exception to Redd? Bogut isn't there yet and who knows what Yi's next move will be.
  11. ESPN and all sports media have always exploited female athletes at the fringe of their jailbait/legal statuses. Maria Sharapova and Anna Kournikova come to mind and I am pretty sure Amanda Beard was exploited. Only difference between Stokke and the above mentioned three was that they were already established and had an entourage to protect them in case they do become targeted by predators. Only difference for Stokke is that she hasn't done anything in the college or olympic level, so she may be more vulnerable to predators who want her. For the legal crowd, what did ESPN do when Brandy Chastain won the Soccer World Cup? Her and her sports bra were put on photo display for the whole world to display. Most female athletes who are deemed beautiful tend to do things outside the realm of what a professional should do. Do a google search on Seattle Storm's Lauren Jackson and you would find pictures of her almost nude in an Australian magazine and she was also featured on the SI Swimsuit issue. Even Steffi Graf, a conservative sports figure, was in the SI Swimsuit issue. Also do google searches on Jennie Finch, Lisa Harrison (WNBA player who posed for Playboy), and other semi-hot female athletes. Another difference is that these more prolific athletes CHOSE to be pictured in these elements, whereas Stokke may not have chosen to be exploited the way she has. By the way, who is this Amanda Wenk and what does she do?
  12. Does anyone know of a web site where you can just plug in the general numbers and get a full calculation of OBP, SLG and OPS?
  13. Can we even trade Jeffress yet? Don't we gotta wait a certain amount of time before a recent draft pick can be traded? And why would we trade Salome?
  14. LaRussa's decisions bothered me. As mentioned in the IGT, I wonder if Reyes had dirt on LaRussa. Why in the world did Reyes play so dang long when they could have used Hardy earlier. Hardy does lead all league SSs in homers... and then LaRussa sits Pujols.
  15. Can someone tell me why Ichiro would be thrilled to get an American made SUV when he could get an imported car with better gas mileage?
  16. At my work, a group home, they have cable TV and one time I got lambasted by my boss for watching Full House when nothing else was on and it wasn't busy at all at work. He said to me, "Number one reason you don't have a girlfriend, you WATCH FULL HOUSE!"
  17. Well, at least we can't blame La Russa for being biased against his own guys. If La Russa had withheld Hardy from the game, we would be outraged.
  18. I did not know her, but I came to the realization that we likely had the same professors in the UW-Whitewater College of Arts and Communication. She majored in public relations, which was my minor and she was a couple years younger than me so as she was starting her degree process I was just ending mine. UW-Whitewater has lost a handful of students the last few years to car accidents, natural deaths and now this. Two female classmates of mine at Whitewater died on campus. One was a popular news anchor for the student TV station, who died outside the library and the other was a freshman when I was a freshman who died of cancer. Sad day for the Nolan family and the UW-Whitewater community who lost a student and one of their own.
  19. Joe Buck and Tim McCarver are the worst announcers when it comes to biases. I would rather have Joe Morgan and Johnny Miller than these two clowns.
  20. Boo Bonds! Cheer Hardy, Fielder, Sheets and CoCo!
  21. Way to walk it Prince. Nice words from the broadcast crew on him.
  22. Prince made a freakin error. Aw man.... good thing it was in the first inning. Maybe it will be forgotten at the end of the game.
  23. Here is the flood of web sites dedicated to her already: Allison Stokke search results
  24. Why do I get the feeling that ESPN will jump on the bandwagon and tout her as the "Maria Sharapova of pole vaulting?" Evidently, I did a google search on her just now and she is being exploited more than anyone believes. By the way, she looks a bit like Jennifer Esposito.
  25. Why is Eugene Kane bashing the Brewers for prior "race discrimination" when the Brewers were the so-called poster organization for minority hiring in the top management positions (see: Ulice Payne)?
