I think Bottalico must really love it in Milwaukee...he is sabotaging his trade value today. Our highest paid reliever is the one everyone is least comfortable with.
The best parts about these game threads is that after a loss like this, and I think I might be taking the loss a little too seriously, I check on this, and suddenly I think I'm handling it quite well.
You just beat me to it Cyanogen...I think even those that are skeptical about Hart has to admit that he's done quite enough to warrant a call up. It's time to bring up the fourth horseman!
Oh well...can't really say I'm too upset about the loss today...had an unexpected win yesterday against Santana. Hopefully D. Lee will cool off some for the upcoming series so we can get that one too.
Wow...that's awesome that the fanfest folks got to see Rickie's first homer. As for Ohka, I think everyone assumed that he would give up more homers in Miller Park seeing as how he's a flyball pitcher. Hopefully he'll pitch well throughout the rest of the game like he did against the Cubs.
I don't want the games fun for everyone Yost...just us. I hope Lee kills Williams like he did last time. I know he hit 2 homeruns off him. We need this series to keep my sanity.
I agree...there are so many things to look at in one run decisions. That double play that Miller hit into was definitely disheartening though...Cubs got very lucky on that one...oh well. Anyways, I have to say I was impressed that Ohka settled down and pitched well after the first inning. He's going to be a great pick up.
Sheesh...way to keep blowing your trade value you bum. He can be replaced easily, but I was hoping we could get something for him at the deadline. Why don't they make any documentaries about Brewer fans...we suffer a hell of a lot more than Cubs fans.
Neither Nelson or Hart would solve the problem with Jenkins. We actually need a good mlb outfielder for that hole. Maybe they can get one for Overbay. Anyways...I guess you can't really expect too much from this lineup. I think Weeks and Hardy will be very exciting to watch next year though.
I think Branyan will probably be adequate at third when he returns, but he's no long term solution. Of course, I'm hoping that Braun can fly through the system and be a long term solution. Hall I see as more of a Chone Figgins type guy...a super sub.
Yeah...an Overbay trade could be looming pretty soon. The only thing is that Overbay isn't good enough to net a quality third baseman. He is good enough to get a good outfielder that could replace Jenkins...but I don't think they would ever just flat out bench Jenkins bloated salary. I like Hart, but I don't think he has enough pop in his bat to be a quality outfielder. I've liked Melvin's trades so far...so I'm hoping he'll figure something out.
Fielders hit 2 homeruns in todays game. He now has 15 on the season. This guy is going to end up with some really impressive numbers at the end of the year.
