  1. Freaking Lebron James came to root on Davidson! But those ratings would go down guranteed! Hogwash.
  2. Danzig, he clearly traveled. I don't care what the score was. The end result was "another magnificent play by Curry." It happened more than once tonight, when the score wasn't lopsided. Curry is the best player in the country. But he was treated like Michael Jordan tonight. Who also got the benefit of the doubt throughout his NBA career, making him better than what he as, even if he was the best. That's all I'm saying. The Badgers lost the game, but the tone was set early in the second half. Davidson just made their shots to capitalize off the refs generosity.
  3. Yeah, the ratings would suck. Guaranteed. Then every single medium in the United States is dumb for the coverage this week. And they'll be even more dumb if they happen to beat Kansas. This is college basketball, the NCAA tournament. Ratings don't go down when Cinderellas advance. But Krabbenhoft is a chump and a bust too, right?
  4. The ratings would be lower with the darlings of America advancing? Get real. This isn't the NBA brettac. This is what the NCAA tournament is all about. And again, before anyone else piles on me, the Badgers played awful and deserved to lose either way. But it didn't help at the beginning of the second half to be playing Davidson AND the refs.
  5. So Curry didn't travel there danzig? That's all I'm asking. Save the other crap please.
  6. I honestly have no idea what you're talking about in regards to this. Well Davidson was in the bonus with 16 minutes to play. Meanwhile Curry blatantly reached in and knocked a Badger off the ball and nothing called. That's just one example. Ticky tack calls on Wisconsin from the get go. Nothing called on Davidson. That's what I'm talking about. Look guys, the Badgers didn't deserve to win, but if you can't see that the refs at least were calling it real tight on one end, and not on the other, I guess I don't know what game you were watching.
  7. Wow! Great pass by Curry to Lovedale. Of course after Curry travelled five seconds beforehand, not called. Badgers played awful tonight, but the men in stripes wanted Davidson to win...tough to win when that's the case.
  8. Well if they have the same refs, the Davidson-Kansas game will be close.
  9. Curry is unbelievable. He shouldn't be getting help from the refs too. And he is. BS.
  10. Yeah, I think it has a lot to do with actually 'seeing what they got' in Gwynn. I'm not too optimistic on his ceiling at all, but you never know, with an everyday job, he might blossom? I won't hold my breath, but this really could have a lot to do in showcasing him as far as a future trade.
  11. Well sure Davidson is a good team. And I know they've played a pretty tough non conference schedule even. But you said it yourself they were 20-0 in their conference. That means they were 8-6 outside their conference, even with playing North Carolina, Duke, and UCLA. Even the other teams they lost to were decent in North Carolina State, Western Michigan, and Charlotte. But besides Georgetown (in a game let's face it, they should have lost) who have they beat? They play good teams tough, but the feel good story is coming to an end. Running through Elon, Georgia Southern, and the likes has nothing on the Badgers who went 16-2 in the Big 10, beat Texas, beat Georgia, and have been improving all year long. This Badger team is for real, and I would be shocked if Davidson beat them. Wisconsin is a legit title contender right now. I'm not saying they will even make it to the Final 4, but they are good enough to, and Kansas isn't going to have a cakewalk with us either if both teams win. This isn't Tennesse we're talking about relying solely on athletic ability, this is the well oiled machine that is Bo Ryan's Wisconsin Badgers.
  12. Let Curry score 25, who cares, if they have to work too hard to get him 25, that's not good for America's Cinderella Davidsion. If I've ever seen a one man team, this is it. Put Flowers on him and forget about it. It's not like the rest of the team sucks at defense, quite the opposite actually. Speaking of Cinderellas, the real Cinderella when taking the whole season in to consideration is the Badgers seeing that they won the Big 10 outright, the Big 10 tournament and finished at 31-4. Sure they were underestimated big time. But I took a look at a college basketball magazine that I got before the season started and you'd be surprised the teams that they had ranked in the top 15 that are still left. North Carolina, Memphis, Kansas, UCLA, Tennessee, Louisville, Michigan State, Villanova, Washington State, Texas, and Stanford. Wisconsin was ranked 40.
  13. The Davidson love fest ends tonight! Adjusted prediction: Wisconsin 77 Davidson 68
  14. Teams want and need starting pitching depth, sure, but not at that price TLB. I'm not sure what leg you really have to stand on in your argument. The Brewers just released that valuable depth that they supposedly wanted and needed. Why? One reason is they couldn't trade him to another team who supposedly wants and needs him. Why? Because he makes too much money for what he is. If he had any trade value he would have been traded. Simple as that.
  15. Other teams wanted to do what the Brewers wanted with Vargas - have him spend a portion of the year at AAA. Since he has no options left, there weren't any takers. With all due respect, what are you talking about? How do you know that teams wanted to have Vargas at AAA? And quite frankly, if they did, why would they even want to acquire him? Can't we finally end the debate and just say that teams weren't interested in Claudio Vargas at that price...I mean it's pretty damn obvious.
  16. Well obviously Vargas was at best the #7 starter, so I don't know how you can figure that he is worth $3 million. What's that you say? He'd be worth $3 million for someone that needs a starter? Apparently not. I'll say it again....Claudio Vargas at $3.6 million and whatever you have to give up is not worth it for good teams, who will get someone better when they need to. And he's not worth it to bad teams even if he's better than 3 of those teams starters, because he wouldn't get your team closer to the playoffs, and is not a building block.
  17. First, I find it amazing that the attitude around here goes from 'the Brewers have so many starting pitching candidates which makes the team stronger because no other team has that resource' to 'the Brewers have no starting pitching depth.' Wasn't it thought that the Brewers had a trading chip with one or more of these excess starters anyway? Like Briggs, I never bought that guys like Vargas held much trade value, and I'm just thrilled that the best possible team is going to be on the field. One question I have though, is that the Brewers aren't on the hook for Vargas' salary? I though once they tendered him, it was guaranteed? If they don't have to pay him anything, then I take back my all my negative feedback on tendering him to begin with.
  18. Don Nelson was all over Nowitzki, and no one else was except Rick Pitino and the Celtics. Sure I guess the Bucks could have reneged, but the people that are saying that the Mavs would have just drafted Nowitzki are correct. Yes the Bucks did want Tractor, but I too get a tad annoyed when people say that the Bucks could have just kept Nowitzki...that's not how it went down. The Kings and the Sixers could have foiled the Mavs-Bucks trade at picks 7 and 8 if they chose to, but they didn't, as I said Nelson and Pitino were the only two execs who saw Nowitzki as special. If Dallas really wanted Nowitzke, then why didn't they pick him? Because they knew all they had to do was stay ahead of pick 10. So they got another player out of the deal and still got their man. If they had a feeling that Milwaukee, Sacramento, or Philadelphia wanted Nowitzki, they would hav just picked him.
  19. Why is it that hardcore Marquette fans knock the Badgers whenever they get a chance? 31-4.
  20. They weren't going to beat Stanford, Texas, and Memphis.
  21. I expected them to win. I really thought they had a shot to make the final 4. Wow. I can't see why really. And that's not a knock on Marquette, I was rooting for them...they're just not that good.
  22. Stiemsma just keeps doing what he does. don's obvious bias against Wisconsin's "slow" bigs again proved wrong. 31-4
  23. Badgers by double digits: Wisconsin 80 Kansas St. 68
  24. Well if Kansas State is a very good team from the Big 12 (which they are, no argument), then what is Baylor?
  25. Janesville reminds me of Racine Yeah, probably not.
