  1. JJ Hardy and his agent I guarantee you don't like the pitcher batting 8th.
  2. Nope. We don't know, no one knows. That is correct. But he sure did give us reasons to speculate. And again, if this continues, we'll see how his moral/ethical issues change. Whether or not it's got any effect whatsosever. My guess is his morals/ethics in this decision go about as far as how much money he's got coming to him in the future.
  3. Does he not know where the covers of baseballs come from or what his mitt is made of? Or where the millions of dollars he covets comes from for that matter. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. Maybe Prince stopped wearing his lucky socks. THAT must be it! Prince, get those smelly things back on quick, we got the Mets coming up!!! Yeah, pretty comparable to totally cutting out meat in your diet! Look, I really don't know if it's affected him as a baseball player, but neither do you people who are calling the possibility ridiculous. He doesn't look slimmer. He's not hitting with power, he stopped eating meat because of reading "Skinny Bitch" so it's hardly an ethical or moral issue. He had one last meal of salmon, why would you need one last meal if meat totally grossed you out? I say all this, because I wouldn't be surprised to see him start eating meat again soon. But again, I don't really care just yet, but the fact that he made this public is his own fault.
  5. Healthier? Sure. Stronger? No way. It's not that hard of a concept. We'll see...but I think it was extremely dumb for him to make this public in the first place.
  6. If it makes you feel any better, I always thought Crean was a bit of a dirtbag. But leaving for Indiana isn't one of the reasons why I feel that way.
  7. I really don't think there's a rule that says that one college must ask permission from another college. Proper ettiquette? Sure. But I think you're reaching if you think that they'll lose a scholarship over it. And Crean leaving for Indiana and Ryan leaving for Villanova isn't really comparable, because Villanova isn't one of the top college basketball jobs (tradition wise) in the country. And I know you probably used Villanova as an example because of Ryan's Pennsylvania ties. But that's why I used Kansas as an example. Would Badger fans be pissed? Sure. But you wouldn't hear people talking about how Ryan was a dirtbag for the last three years and totally did an about face from when he first got to Wisconsin.
  8. I understand it to a point. But just from the discussions on this site regarding Marquette/UW basketball, it seemed to me that Marquette fans were ecstatic with the state of their program and/or Tom Crean. Bashing him for the way he left is understandable. It just looks to me like Marquette fans are now bashing him and criticizing the same things they were defending him on just a few short months ago on any subject regarding the program. If Bo Ryan left for say Kansas (yes I know it won't happen), you wouldn't see the venomous outpouring from Badger fans as I've read from Marquette fans.
  9. My parents' marriage is still going strong, but they did move away from where I grew up about 10 years ago, so I understand about your family home angle. What I don't understand is the dog situation. Why isn't one of them taking the dog with them?
  10. I don't think I've gone on the record as saying Crean was a "great" coach. Great, good, beloved...whatever. My point is that no Marquette fans had anything real bad to say about him until after he left for Indiana, and then he gets slammed. It's funny. I never liked Crean much to begin with, and was never too impressed with his coaching. But I'm not really a Marquette fan.
  11. I agree with AndThat and colbyjack. I'm not sure how Giamatti as an actor could be a negative on the series. My main beef is with the LONG personal scenes with John and Abigail. It gets to the point where the story isn't being enhanced whatsoever...we already get the fact that she had a great influence on him, supported him etc. Definitely not a great mini series, but one that I will watch every episode.
  12. we're talking the overtanned, smug, almost used car salesman-esque, post 2003 Crean, right...? Just out of curiosity, why haven't you made your feelings known about Crean for the last four or five years before he left for Indiana? Not saying you're wrong, jut find it interesting that he was a great coach until he decided to leave Marquette. And why the 18 year old primadona talk? Have you met these kids? Just because Marquette wanted to promote a guy from within to possibly get these recruits to still come to Marquette makes the kids the bad guys? I guess I don't get it.
  13. This thread is funny. Jamil Wilson to the Badgers likely now?
  14. Did Hickory have Jimmy Chitwood bring the ball up for the last shot in the game? Heck no, he got the ball coming off a screen to hit the shot that he was great at. I'm not so convinced Davidson themselves thought they were more than a one man team after watching that last attempt. Dude's man FELL DOWN! And Curry didn't pass to him.
  15. Yeah Briggs, he wouldn't have even made it to the big leagues if his name was John Smith. So, yes, there wouldn't be a lot of venom because he would be a Mel Stocker type...insignificant. That said, I hope he blossoms in to at least a trading chip.
  16. What's even more hilarious is how a guy like Curry only get offered from Davidson, Winthrop, and Virginia Commonwealth. Virginia Tech didn't have a scholly for the son of Dell Curry? That's funny.
  17. By the way, the Badgers played terrible tonight and deserved to lose, just so no one thinks I have a little man thing going on with Wisconsin. Although picking on Krabbenhoft is funny.
  18. Flowers drew a charge on Curry....I think early in the second half. So you're wrong there. Yeah, I'm wrong. You bring up an instance where A foul called on him, so I'm wrong? He had four fouls for what it's worth dude. What if Curry had fouled out with 10 minutes to play if they would have called fouls when fouls occurred the whole way?
  19. I'm not even saying it was a conscious decision brettac. Florida and UCLA non compelling? I can't even name one guy off the top of my head of that George Mason team. They weren't exciting. Stephen Curry brought Lebron James up to sit behind his bench...he was plastered all over every newspaper, every website, all week long. I'm just not sure where you were all week in regards to the Davidson hype.
  20. And who said that the refs wanted Davidson because of ratings anyway? What happened in the Florida-UCLA title game, that had nothing to do with a Cinderella.
  21. But interesting to see the following photo on the front page of JSOnline. I don't remember a foul being called on Curry while Hughes was on the floor..if that's the case, how was this not a foul? http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/badger/img/mar08/thughes328.jpg Exactly. And there was another blatant reach and almost tackle Curry wasn't called on. I'm not hallucinating.
  22. George Mason didn't have the best player in the country. I said before how Davidson was the epitome of a one man team, and I still pretty much think so. I just underestimated how good that one player was. And the refs helped him out even more...BUT AGAIN, I'm not blaming the refs for the loss, just pointing out that the tone was set early in that second half. I said a long time ago that the one thing I didn't like about the Badgers was when time was of the essence and they were down, they seemed to be lost offensively, and that was no more apparent than tonight.
  23. Lost in all this is the fact that Trevon Hughes didn't play virtually the entire game. That's a huge loss.
  24. I guess I didn't see this over the top coverage you're referencing. I think you have this major little man thing with anything involving Badger sports, so that anytime someone doesn't go out of their way to praise them, they are somehow slapping them in the face, and that gets old. They won't beat Kansas, and I don't think the ratings will be very good in that game. And yeah, Krabbenhoft is a disappointment, as far as I'm concerned. He played like garbage tonight, and his lack of aggressiveness is maddening. Just so you know, I had the Badgers in the Elite 8, so it's not like I hate them or something. I'm a fan, I'm not Don, here. Brett, I never said the Badgers didn't get beat tonight. You didn't see the over the top coverage on Davidson this week? I don't know what to say to that. Really, don't know what to say, how much time do you spend away from this website? Little man thing? Give me a break, that's nice. I didn't care that the Badgers get no respect, you're confusing me with someone else. This was a disappointing game the way the Badgers played. I guess the little things I saw were in my imagination.
