  1. He won the MVP, but had two teammates who would have beaten him had they not slumped in August. Now how exactly is that a mark against Hart?
  2. 1-0 Brewers thru 4 1/2. Sheets has thrown 5 shutout innings.
  3. Let's talk baseball and not about losers can we?!? Well that rules out talking about the Brewers then. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif
  4. Dumbest post ever on brewerfan? No way. There have been way dumber posts. As someone who owns 7 of the top 10 dumbest posts on Brewerfan, I heartily agree with filthy.
  5. That's a long standing theory, that 420 is code for pot bust, but is in fact not true.
  6. 420 is just an underground term for smoking pot. No one really knows how it started, although their are plenty of rumors. So anything having to do with 420, 4:20, or 4/20 is just considered a veiled drug reference. And now you know.
  7. Robert's pimp hand is strong.
  8. What idiot said Huntsville would win 100 games this year?
  9. Unfortunately, they're HTML tables and not plain text and so it would take a whole lot of time to copy them over to the threads. I think I speak for all the selfish jerks on this board when I say, "So?" http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. but the rule stands: people who throw 95+ are far more likely to become "great" pitchers than those who don't. You mean like Brien Taylor and Todd Van Poppel? Or any number of other flamethrowers who blew out their arms? And how many hard throwers can you name that had horrible control and learned to harness it later? Ryan and Johnson are easy, but after that it's a pretty slim lot. And defining those great pitchers solely on their fastball is doing them a serious disservice. All of them have pitches as good as, or better in most cases, then their fastball. That's what makes them great. And they all know how to pitch. You act like it's just a simple case of rearing back and letting it fly. If it was that simple, Bobby Witt would have been in the Hall of Fame years ago. And Paul Wilson threw 95+ before he tore his labrum in 1996. He actualy went on the DL in June of 96 with shoulder tendinitis, and it was only found out at the end of the season that he had torn the labrum and required surgery. That might have something to do with he mediocre numbers. He pitched 26 innings in 97 due to injury, 57 in 98 due to injury, and 99 he was out of baseball. Now instead of having a 95+ mph fastball and a plus slider, he's a finese pitcher that can barely hit 90 mph. Velocity certainly helps, but it's not the end all be all when it comes to dominating pitchers. I wouldn't even be suprised if players who top 95 mph have a greater chance of injury, thus reducing their chances of greatness even further. Their is just far to many things to judge to put so much weight on one solitary number.
  11. He sure looked tight while striking out Counsell and Spivey.
  12. Really, the big inning is Kinney's fault.
  13. Two words, Christy Mathewson.
  14. Isn't it a banable offense if you quote Britney Spears on this site? And if it isn't, shouldn't it be?
  15. I'm sure Harold will find a way to pin this on Kinney and shift all blame away from Hernandez.
  16. You need to take some chances on players with high upsides or you'll never have "superstars". Drafting on potential also can net you Sam Bowie instead of Michael Jordan.
  17. Whichever pitcher does drop to us, I'm sure we'll be quite happy with.
  18. Sigs are HTML aren't they? In that case a link would be pub5.ezboard.com/blegionstudios Just make sure for that last < a > you use a back slash "/" before the a. If it is ezCodes, it would be this. [ link=pub5.ezboard.com/blegionstudios]pub5.ezboard.com/blegionstudios[ link] And once again, a "/" before that last [ link]
  19. Maybe then you'll finally open the vault and purchase an astromech droid.
  20. You all seem to be forgeting a certain poster's infatuation with Foster. Brian has nothing on him.
  21. I hear MassBrew is still trying to fillibuster the poll idea. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. It's only a few thousand people. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  23. He was also fabulous in the underrated comedy Heartbreakers.
  24. I think what pogo is trying to say if you could only visit Brewerfan, he would like it to include as much relevant information on the homepage and as up to date as possible. Their are plenty of people that don't or can't use the message boards at all and just use the main page to get information. Their are still plenty of people that use dialup connection and would like to limit the number of sites they need to visit to crave their hunger for Brewers info. A "ticker" would potentially cover a lot of info and save a lot of people a lot of time. During the off-season I know I rarely check the homepage. It just tends to lag behind current news. I'd be interested in knowing if their is a big drop off in unique hits to the homepage during the offseason. It wouldn't suprise me if their was, and anythign that could help maintain a steadier flow of visitors would be a bonus in my mind. Heck, I'd love a scoreboard watch as well during the season. I have no idea how hard that would be to implement. Anything that would limit the amount of time I need to spend on MLB.com or ESPN.com would be a huge bonus.
  25. Are you talking about the Brewerfan.net login, or the EZboard login? They are entirely two seperate entities. The Brewerfan.net login does a whole lot of nothing at this point, while the EZboard login controls the message board.
