  1. I think that same article said they'd be revising that model up a few notches.
  2. You are describing windows of opportunity
  3. That would be so delightful if he spurned the Cubs.
  4. Interesting Fangraphs analysis on the Albers signing and Brewer front office in general: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-brewers-and-the-breakout-pitching-staff/ (As an aside, I love how Jeff Sullivan always tries to use scouting/observation to explain the advanced metrics)
  5. Agreed that thread title is a bit misleading. Topic is fine.
  6. If you can't see the difference between this thread and that one then I don't know what to tell ya. One was discussing the validity of a Brewers theme day on a morally divisive topic, planned for the first time this year at Miller Park. The other is discussing beloved Brewers hot dogs and sausages. There's the difference. If both are considered non-baseball topics, then the negativity and petty back and forth should be treated equally- lock down the topic like the other was. If both are considered topics related to the Brewers, again lock it down like the last was for the negativity and needless combative words. If the topic of morality is the difference between the two and you don't want that kind of stuff discussed here, you should take a hard stance against the Brewers themselves promoting these type of days, whatever side of the issue you're on. If it's not ok in your view here, then why there? Instead, silence reigns. Don't discuss it. Don't write abou it. Yet the Brewers can hold a themed day publically celebrated to the masses on it? Respectfully, If you can't see the hypocracy, then I don't know what to tell ya. From the Fan Forum Etiquette: "Please keep politics, religion, and sex out of the forum. Fairly or not, these topics have regularly resulted in threads going out of control. Also, please avoid contentious topics such as racial and ethnic issues. If you're into discussing these topics, we recommend the separate forum Brewerfan Political Scene." The sausage race does not fall into any of these categories. Discussing the morality of sexual preference does and that type of discussion is not allowed here.
  7. Which is about what they were a few years ago.
  8. Those no-trade clauses are a pain.
  9. All about blockchain. The coins are a crapshoot.
  10. Not sure if this has been mentioned but Yelich has a pretty big home/road split. For his career he's an 839 OPS away from home and 759 at home. He's 128 wRC+ away and 113 at home.
  11. I am more impressed with the improved OBP and the potentially light years improved defense.
  12. If you are looking to get banned we can accommodate.
  13. This was you yesterday on a different forum. Have you had gotten your fill yet? Which forum?
  14. As a reminder, you can put users on ignore. Click on their username and then select "add foe".
  15. No they don't. Can someone please elaborate? That would help.
  16. A lot can happen between now and five years from now. The key for me is that these moves make the Brewers contenders pending the acquisition of another pitcher. Not only this year but the next year or two as well.
  17. "Recall the Jayson Werth deal. Werth hit free agency after his age-31 season, with a small handful of very good seasons under his belt. Like Cain, injuries and foolishness on the part of the team trying to develop him delayed Werth’s establishment as an everyday player, but he was a guy with a broad base of skills and tremendous overall athleticism. He signed a seven-year, $126 million deal with the Nationals, to the shock and chagrin of many observers. Over the life of that deal, however, Werth was worth 16.9 WARP, meaning that the Nationals paid about $7.4 million per win—hardly a bust, especially considering that much of that value was concentrated in the first four seasons of the term. Cain is unlikely to even approximate Werth’s payday. It would be no surprise, now, if he were forced to settle for, say, a four-year deal worth $80 million. At that price, he would be an outlandish bargain, and if he comes in even lower, he’s going to give some organization a huge boost." https://www.baseballprospectus.com/news/article/37070/rubbing-mud-lorenzo-cain-still-available/
  18. It's an overpay in the current market but not from what guys have been getting the last few years. To wit: https://www.baseballprospectus.com/news/article/37070/rubbing-mud-lorenzo-cain-still-available/
  19. That outfield D is gonna be pretty darn good.
  20. See ya Santana. Must be close on whatever trade they are working with him.
  21. TOO MANY TRANSACTIONS!!!! CANNOT PROCESS!!!!
  22. If you go by wRC+ he was 59th this year, 23rd last year, 46th in 2015 and and 48th in 2014. If you go by wOBA he was 45th in 2014, 50th in 2015, 29th in 2016 and 58th in 2017. One year out of four in the top 30 and all of a sudden he's a top 30 offensive player? Sorry, top 30 player....if you go by total WAR. He's good at defense.
  23. I'd don't know how Rule 5/40 man plays into this....any chance the Brewers would have cut ties with one of these guys in the next year or two anyway?
  24. Right now Yelich is a top 30 offensive player with potential upside. I think people are really underrating him.
