  1. can you tell me where you found this? I find it hard to get splits on team stats.
  2. And the Cubs get draft compensation for losing Arrieta. What a joke of a system that turned out to be.
  3. Per multiple people on twitter (Heyman, Nightengale etc.)
  4. There are a bunch of veteran CB's on the market: Rodgers-Cromartie joins a slew of top-to-mid tier cornerbacks in the free agency pool. Former Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman spent just one day on the market before signing an incentive-laden deal with the San Francisco 49ers. Sans Sherman, Malcolm Butler, Trumaine Johnson, Bashaud Breeland, E.J. Gaines, Brent Grimes, Morris Claiborne and Prince Amukamara lead this season's free-agent cornerback class. Of those top talents, the 31-year-old DRC is older than all of them but Grimes.
  5. I get what you are saying, but believe me when I tell you, there ARE sports message boards out there(that I post on/read) where people DO have legit inside info and DO share it quite regularly. Now granted, those are pay boards, and maybe that's why they can do it(and their sources know they do it), but it's not unprecedented for people to have inside info and share it with others. I get lots of inside info from some people on different things that I know is 100% legit, but they also trust I won't post it other places, and/or let it get out. I think a lot of it depends on how it's presented to the masses..there are ways of letting info get out there to the people without actually telling them the info..you give them bits in pieces in a creative way that they can connect the dots from there, or sometimes they will tell you in a PM as well. I realize blatantly posting info can cost someone their job, and no one wants that, BUT it can be done without costing people their jobs. True. I mean I've gotten inside info before but it's not a steady stream of trade rumors on every available player out there with contract numbers, dates, and odds that it will or won't happen.
  6. Literally the same three or four people that we mods get complaints about on a weekly basis are the same ones snarkily adding their opinions in this thread. Stop it. Forever. If you can't let stuff go and feel the need to get in the last word in every thread then this is not the board for you...plain and simple.
  7. Had nothing to do with site traffic. None of us profits from having more posters (none of us profit period) although the additional ideas that new people bring is interesting and adds fresh perspective. Obviously in retrospect we should have been more proactive, but the fact that mods heard he had no sources came just about the time he had told everyone he was done posting here and had deleted his twitter account. We figured that was the end of it. Should we have banned him then? Probably, but he technically wasn't breaking any rules and he was contributing non rumor posts. But when he came back and started up again we figured we had to do something. It takes a while to get consensus from the moderators since we aren't all on here every day and in particular we needed consent from the folks with the sources. Please use this thread to help us do better in the future. We look forward to your feedback.
  8. Then you won't be posting here. To everyone: There are two mods here with connections to the Brewers. Legit connections. Both of their sources have told us that HH has no insider info. You are welcome to do with that news what you want but we have kept it under wraps for a while because posting rumors isn't really against board rules. But this has become a circus and a lot of time and effort is made cleaning up the board after an HH rumor is posted. And given what we have heard we asked him to stop doing so. He is free to post here about baseball but we asked him to stop posting rumors. Obviously based on the post above he has chosen not to listen. Now if Cobb signs for 3/42 we will look pretty foolish but that's ok. Edit: but based on what will end up being HH's final post here, it looks like we don't have to worry about looking foolish
  9. I'm still ticked he turned down the Cleveland trade. Mejia could have been ours!
  10. I think it's hard to judge Kizer. They had no skill people whatsoever on that team. Hard enough to start at QB as a rookie but it helps to at least have people that can run and catch.
  11. Also swapped picks in 4th and 5th rounds which is a pretty big jump for GB. They go from 114 to 101 in the 4th and 150 to 138 in the 5th.
  12. Not sure what the return is yet. Probably mid round pick. EDIT: Whoa...for DeShone Kizer
  13. Opening Day cannot get here soon enough.
  14. I'd settle for getting back to Princess Bride Quotes. EVERYBODY MOVE!!!!
  15. Let's get back to Alex Cobb, please.
  16. That Biloxi rotation looks awesome.
  17. Hey guys, lets all tone down the condescension. Take a breath, do a sudoku, then post...don't come in with guns blazing.
  18. There will be starters available at the deadline. And this feels like a weird year...might be trades in April/May
  19. That is a poorly researched sentence on their part.
  20. Iverson's last three games he's averaged almost a double double. And he plays good defense.
  21. Even if you thought Villar's offensive numbers in 2016 were a fluke, there is no way you could have predicted a drop-off like he had with the bat. He went from a 19.0 WAR offensive player to a -13.9 WAR offensive player.
  22. This is what we keep coming back to. Great, the offense is better. Is it better than the top five or six teams in the league? Because the pitching isn't so if the offense isn't either then this is a marginal playoff team at best. It doesn't take much improvement to get in the top 5 - 6 in offense. Dodgers averaged 4.75 runs which ranked 6th in NL and Brewers averaged 4.52. So a quarter of a run per game improvement is all they need which is like 40 runs per year. I'll leave it to the stat heads to figure if Yelich and Cain alone can garner an extra 40 runs over the course of a season but I'd wager they probably could.
  23. I don't really want to think about the amount of money she spent traveling internationally in order to qualify for the games...but I give her a modicum of credit for figuring out a way to have the Olympic experience without being particularly good at her chosen sport. I love how she is an American and skied for Venezuela before switching to Hungary. Makes me wonder if I could participate in something as one of the 39 countries my ancestors are from.
  24. I'd be very surprised if we could maintain our ranking from last year.
  25. Ha! That old guy might be me...except I don't use the treadmill.
