  1. Mr. Pot, I'd like to introduce you to Mr. Kettle.
  2. No, you let J.J. swing away. He's been one of the teams hottest hitters over the past week, and so far they are getting to Marquis. If J.J. gets a clean single there, you stand a chance of blowing this game wide open. If it's 0-0 in the 7th or 8th, then you bunt. But it's 2-0 Crew in the 2nd. You don't play for one run yet.
  3. wow... Ned bunts too much one day, than not enough the next. *Sigh*
  4. Now that helps MY fantasy team, MadBrewerBlue
  5. Poo-Holes is almost entering Bonds territory, where you're better off walking him.
  6. Booo! Brewer fandom should always trump fantasy numbers. I hope Poo-Holes strikes out five times today.
  7. While having the starting pitcher pitch batting practice may be frowned upon in baseball circles, you may be on to something here rluzinski. Screw pitch counts!
  8. Nice work B.J. Evidently, it's easier to bash every decision your manager makes than to actually think about them.
  9. For about 21 hours thereabouts http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. It's games like this that make me incredibly glad that Tommy Phelps is in Nashville. There is NO WAY he holds a lead in a game like this. Eveland will have his bumps in the road, but his stuff is SO much better than Phelps' puss. Letting JDLR pitch in a pressure situation? Very cool. He pitched well, too. Hopefully Ned doesn't put him back in hibernation. Besides Bottalico, I really like how this staff is looking. I think Ricky and Santana are probably gone at the deadline, and we'll see Adams and Bennett back here, followed by Capellan. Justin Lehr comes up if a starter is jettisoned.
  11. That's the idea...Brady is probably the best bunter on the team. Yes, there is a chance he gets a clean single, but who knows? Personally, I like the situation of having a guy at 3rd with Weeks and Overbay coming up. More often than not, they will get him in. It failed this time, but the bunt was still a good move. A two-run lead would have looked so much better there.
  12. I understand. I'm just sick of the armchair managers who think that every move Ned makes is moronic. The guy isn't the best stratigist by any means, but he sure as heck isn't Grady Little either. He lets the players play, as opposed to LaRussa, who micromanages everything.
  13. Holy cynical board, Batman Ned can't do anything right. When something works out, he's lucky...when it doesn't, he's a moron. I sure am glad you guys aren't major league GMs...I thought Steinbrenner was bad, sheesh! Once, just ONCE I'd like to see teh majority of this board give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I agree with bunting there. Brady is a good bunter, and one run there was huge. Get the guy to third. A good team can score a guy from 3rd with one out. Newsflash...this isn't a good hitting team. If Brady strikes out, you guys are mad, too...wondering why he didn't sacrifice.
  14. Ned Yost = astute managerial genius (I know, pretty far fetched....but if those moves had backfired, there would be posters here all over him--He should get credit when something goes right, too)
  15. not smart.....I'd rather JDLR face Taguchi than Santana or Bow face Walker or Edmonds. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  16. If you click on "go brewcrew's" name, you see a listing of his most current posts (which were obviously deleted). Judging by the subject lines, they looked rather.....well.....colorful. So much potential....wasted. go brewcrew will go down in history as one of the most revered posters ever.
  17. Jaime Moyer clone with a rubber arm...I trust him more out there than any reliever we have (including Wise)
  18. Cristian Guzman is the Nat's Royce Clayton (without Royce's power or dreadlocks)
  19. Carlos with the big sombrero on the day so far Like John Patterson he does not. Maybe he needs a cup of coffee....I know just where to get it, too.
  20. Lyle Overbay: King of the "Warning Track Power Hitters"
  21. Rickie....not the way to be! Riddle me this... If Brady Clark gets on base, but never gets driven home, was he ever really there?
  22. They're rare...like leap years, good Pauly Shore movies, and Wes Helms' triples.
  23. The reports of Mr. Clark's demise were greatly exaggerated. Who is it here that hates Brady? xis? Geno?
  24. Davis at 57 pitches through 3 innings...it may be a JDLR day.
  25. Why can't Davis hang out with Cappy and learn his pick-off move? Davis has one of the worst pick-off moves I've ever seen out of a lefty.
