  1. I am just happy to be excited to watch Brewer baseball on Sept. 9th. It has been too long since we have had weekends with meaningful Brewer, Badger, and Packer (at least for the moment) games. If we sweep Houston we are back in the wildcard race with still much work and luck required, but at least it is a chance. 2 out of 3, well pretty good and would not eliminate us from our wildcard pipe dreams. 1 out of 3, makes .500 the goal for the season with a good win streak required. Sweep, ouch, I don't want to think about how this would make me feel. Probably not too bad if they could bounce right back against AZ. All things considered, it is GREAT to be having these thoughts and dreams about Brewer baseball in Sept.
  2. Excellent article bball, I very much appreciate you putting the link to this.
  3. This probably has been discussed somewhere else, and I even heard it discussed by Maddux on the radio once, but it seems like every time our pitchers have a 1-2 or 0-2 count, they throw a high fastball out of the zone. The problem is, I rarely see anyone take the bait. I am curious as to how many times we walk batters or allow a hit after getting 2 strikes on them. Can anyone help me here? Or at least could someone discuss the merits of continuing with the high heat on 1-2 or 0-2 counts. I think we should mix it up just a bit.
  4. Good, I hope your optimism is correct.
  5. Is this optimistic or pessimistic? I have a feeling we could be blown apart next inning.
  6. How about another poem edit: passed ball, I sigh http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/ohwell.gif error, my oh my http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif error, why oh why http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif passed ball, at least he try http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif intentional walk, i fry http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif 3-Run HR by the pitcher, bye bye http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/devil.gif
  7. Is it still a quality start if the pitcher gets shelled in the 8th inning? EDIT: Just ignore me, I am dumb
  8. I see your point HOFFY. Following a bad game online is far easier than watching one on tv.
  9. 3 pitch K, just what you like to see from the number 2 spot. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif
  10. Even a split in this series would be turning the corner in my opinion, compared to years past. Don't fret TOO much even if they lose tonight guys, this team will end up OK.
  11. Brewers are now losing 3-0 to the Blu Jas on teletext. Take it easy on Sutton guys, he's entertaining enough to have gotten my wife to watch some Brewer games all the way through. I owe him a lot for that.
  12. I think I saw the future earlier tonight. I am sitting here in Bologna, Italy at 3:30 AM and following the game online. A bit earlier (1 hour or so ago), I had this thing called "Teletext" on. It is like a simple website for each tv station. Anyways, it had the Crew losing 3-0 to the Giants, and this was when the game was in the 1st inning. Darned if they weren't correct... Currently, according to teletext, the Brewers are losing 9-0 in the 7th. Let's just hope that isn't true. Should I just go to bed?
  13. Too bad the Brewers aren't up to bat in this situation. Ohka would for sure get out of it.
  14. Even their crowd is getting into it now. Everyone is going to credit Piniella's pissiness for their performance tonight, except for hardcore Brewer fans who know the truth.
  15. Does anyone know what was up with that shouting guy in the background? I "almost" had to change the channel, even with Prince coming up.
  16. Anyone notice how most of the future Brewer players look cool too?
  17. I agree with Anders about Prince's handling of the "constant" questions about Cecil. He did fine, although he is not the most entertaining interview. Let's face it, it will not be the last time he gets those types of questions or even more difficult pointed ones about the situation he is facing with his dad. As for Schroeder, he should be embarrassed. Know your stuff man, especially when interviewing one of the hottest Brewer prospects to come up in years. Nothing that cannot be fixed with a sincere apology though. All of this said, GO BREWERS!!! Doh, error...
  18. Good lord, I'd be suprised if Glover makes it past the 3rd inning with this control he is displaying.
  19. Maybe AM 1000 has this game on, anyone know?
