  1. I can decide if that's impressive, sad, or both....
  2. Exactly. I found it interesting that Counsell shared the vaccination status for Yelich, Strickland, and Cousins but not Hader. Yelich, Strickland, and Cousins are all vaccinated. I even read that Yelich had the J&J single shot. I just hope they all get mild cases without long term repercussions. And maybe those that are unvaccinated wise up.... https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2021/08/02/closer-josh-hader-tests-positive-and-goes-covid-19-injured-list/5461879001/
  3. This thread seems to have languished with all the trade deadline transactions. So, how about Rowdy's performance now that he's getting some playing time? Obviously a small sample set.... .357/.440/.690/4 HR/12 RBI/194 wRC+ https://reviewingthebrew.com/2021/07/31/brewers-rowdy-tellez-giving-needed-production-first/
  4. Gustave stays in the bigs as Milner is optioned back to AAA.
  5. "Likely IL," for Mr. Anderson per Craig Counsel.
  6. Looks like they are preparing Ashby to come up and bolster the pen! https://reviewingthebrew.com/2021/06/08/brewers-moving-aaron-ashby-bullpen-right-call/
  7. Yes, I like this idea. Would Stearns do it? Are the Brewers "too good" to make a move like this anymore?
  8. Interesting stat: Dodgers defense: 47 Defensive Runs Saved (5th in NL) Brewers defense: 116 Runs Saved (2nd in NL)
  9. Don't forget my alma mater, Platteville. I often remember seeing the ball field with puddles in the spring -- it didn't have good drainage and was very flat. Wisconsin spring baseball is hard for H.S. too. My brother's teams always ended up playing double headers the second half of the season to make up all the cancelled games.
  10. The Brewers have lost Rule 5 draft pick Eduardo Morlan, who was re-claimed this morning by Tampa Bay. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/41496022.html
  11. Added him to my fantasy team!
  12. I doubt they'll take Vargas since they waived him in 2005.
  13. I was there on Mother's Day last year -- take note of the wind direction -- it was cold. Take the "John Rocker" 7 train, preferably the express, if available. Pre-pay for your return trip before you go into the stadium. Enjoy -- this is the last season in Shea and Yankee stadium!
  14. Is Fernando Cabrera, 25yo reliever, just released by the Indians, someone that Melvin might consider nugget worthy?
  15. Michael Garciaparra? The Mariners have used his option for the year already. So couldn't we pick him up and option him to AA or AAA?
  16. For some reason, I love the wheeling and dealing that goes on in any sport. So with that in mind, teams are finalizing their 25 and 40 man rosters and have gotten me thinking about the 'ol Nugget Miner. A quick glance at the Brewers' 40 man shows them with only 35 players on it. So if Spurling makes the roster that's 36, if not 35. The 25 man roster is set and let's assume that Doug keeps one spot open on the 40 for flexibility. That gives him 3-4 spots for nuggets. Albeit, nuggets with options remaining so that we could option them to the minors. Do guys like that get waived? Any ideas? Am I way off base or making a fatal assumption?
  17. Best of all, he was born without an ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching arm.... msn.foxsports.com/mlb/pla...atsId=6708 Perhaps because of the lack of a ligament, Dickey has never had a great fastball, but he does approach 90 MPH. His best pitch, though, is a splitter called "The Thing." At times he falls in love with it and uses it too much. When he mixes the two pitches, he's good for a turn through the lineup. A groundball pitcher, he will help himself with his fielding. He's unafraid to risk injury to make a play. He got screwed when drafted by the Rangers because of it: www.athomeplate.com/dickey.shtml
  18. JDLR gets the win. Glad to see this thread. Eerie with all those ex-Brewers in the box score....
  19. Nice new feature, but it has a sort issue. For example in HRs, 9 is listed before 20 when sorting in descending order....
  20. Still down at 6:49AM Eastern Standard Time.
  21. Anyone else having trouble with the mlb.com feed? I had it stop several times with IE and Netscape using Windows Media Player....
  22. Just players drafted by the Brewers? Or players drafted from the Brewers too?
  23. SAVE - DERRICK TURNBOW (1) Are they going to jack up his save total in ST games, then trade him off Kolb-style? Read this article: Most teams in spring don't bother with having their ace closer work the latter innings of games. www.sportsline.com/mlb/fa...ry/8242765
