  1. Don't look now but Steve Sollman is heating up...has his average up to almost .280. I am finding it difficult to get overly excited about the Manatee pitching staff. I know they have been lights out, but that is just the problem, everyone has been (except, of course, the lone 40-man roster rep Luis Pena). I want to see them perform at a different place before I believe their stats are for real. I am hoping that they will get a taste of Huntsville this year...just to see if their A+ numbers were influenced environmentally...like a reverse High Desert.
  2. Sweet, Mega in West Virginia! Does anyone know if he will be a starter or reliever? I have been waiting to see his lines int he box score...he did well in his short stint in Helena. Hopefully he can also do well with the Power. Nice to see Braun and Hammond promoted as well. Maybe the Power can do a little better in this half season than they did the last.
  3. 7:05 PM ET - Miller Park Pittsburgh (34-44) Duke (0-0, 0.00 ERA) Milwaukee (37-42) Santos (2-8, 3.27 ERA) Pirates' Duke makes major league debut against Brewers Stat Pack: Printable Program, Scorecard and More, customized for this game Carlos Lee should be in the line-up tonight, so lets hope he goes off and helps score Santos some runs. I will be gone for the weekend, so lets hope the winning streak doesn't depend on my ability to start game threads!!! Let's put some distance between us and the Pirates!
  4. The StatPack is there for everyone, and is customized for that days game. I used to print them out all of the time and would sometimes keep score at home. I don't do it as often anymore, but it is fun to do sometimes when you don't have anything else going on. It is one of the nice things ESPN has added over the last couple of years that, surprisingly, isn't a pay feature.
  5. Sorry, I am a chemist...we do thing differently in the pharmaceutical business. Normally I write the date as: 1-July-2005...so I translated that into 1/7/2005 I will fix it!
  6. Well, I started off the game thread yesterday and we won, so here it goes again. 8:05 PM ET - Miller Park Pittsburgh (34-43) Redman (4-6, 3.42 ERA) Milwaukee (36-42) Ohka (5-4, 3.50 ERA) Stat Pack: Printable Program, Scorecard and More, customized for this game Lets hope Ohka shows us the stuff that he showed against the Devil Rays in his first Brewers start. Edit: Fixed date in header
  7. Thu, Jun. 30, 2005 2:20 PM ET - Wrigley Field Milwaukee (35-42) Capuano (7-6, 3.22 ERA) Chicago (40-36) Maddux (7-4, 4.56 ERA) Maddux tries to push Cubs' winning streak to five games Stat Pack: Printable Program, Scorecard and More, customized for this game Hopefully Capuano can help us salvage one of these games
  8. Corey Hart with a double and a solo HR, is this guy hot or what...get him to Milwaukee FAST!
  9. I am very happy to see Eric Thomas on the roster. I have been wanting to see what this kid can do since we drafted him...maybe I will finally get my chance!
  10. I can't speak for Mass, but my comment about Carlos' homerun was directly the result of Toby's Power 50 comment...kind of poking fun at it. When I read Mass's comment, I took it that way as well. Right after the latest Power 50 came out, many people chimed in with the "who cares if he gives up a few too many homeruns" comment, so that is what I was referencing when I said he gives up the pesky homerun. If guy strikes out 8 with no walks in 6, 1 homerun shouldn't beat him...color me very impressed with Carlos this year...here is to him continueing it in Huntsville very soon!
  11. Holy Villanueva...7 K's through 5...and maybe more importantly, no walks. Like Mass said, just the pesky solo homer.
  12. At that point I was sitting right behind the foul pole in the left field stands...in the corner section. I was wearing my yellow 1982 brewers hat, with an old school blue ball and glove logo t-shirt. Tonights game sucked too...Why do we have to get swept in Philly every time? Work is really going to suck tomorrow.
  13. I also just got back from the game. I agree with pretty much everything LouisEly said, so I can't really add too much. Hardy's homerun was a bomb, and he was crushing the ball in batting practice too...for what that means. Davis was very wild, consistently going to three ball counts. I was surprised that he lasted as long as he did. Philly fans gave me a pretty hard time at the end of the game, but in the top of the 9th when Overbay came up, I put my arms up in the O and yelled "Oooooooo"...and they inadvertantly helped me!! I guess they thought I was doing something for the Phillies (they didn't realize it was me)...too bad Overbay struck out. Weeks came over and signed a few autographs...I got a ball signed. He wasn't much for conversation, but he was nice enough. I got a BP ball from the Brewers dugout from one of the Philly ushers who I talked to for about a half an hour...I had never gotten a ball from a game before. Not sure this counts since I didn't catch it, and a player didn't give it to me, but I am happy nonetheless. I will be there tomorrow with my Sheets stuff on...I hope he pitches great, and all of those Philly fans can SHUT UP!!
  14. A high school pitcher int he second round...maybe he will be another Yo
  15. Teagarden is a Boras client...will the Brewers go there?
  16. As much as I want Gordon, I think it will be Maybin or Braun...I will say Braun, just to be different.
  17. I ahve noticed that too roto...I am really pulling for the guy. In a perfect world I would like to see Jenkins traded at some point (Ha, Ha), and Hart given the shot in RF. Doubt it happens, but Hart can play, regardless of what some think. He has hit at every level, and I think he will at the MLB level as well. As for his defense...he is too athletic to not be able to handle the position. I think he just needs time and reps.
  18. It doesn't do any good to call Cirillo out for his mistake...he is a veteran not a rookie...he knows he messed up and he is professional enough to make sure he doesn't do it again. If it was Hardy out there, then maybe let him know how bad he messed up...Cirillo already knows. Bashing him for it again is overkill IMO.
  19. I just don't know what to make of Hendrickson right now. It seems that last year he had much better control...then he got called up tot he Majors and lost it. It seems he still hasn't found it. I am very encouraged by all of the groundballs he is getting, and Major league defense can only help that (well, maybe not ours, but...). However, if he is walking 5 AAA batters, how many MLB batters will he walk? I guess the good thing is that the MLB pitching staff is doing well enough that we don't have to rush him again, but what I want to know is...What happened?
  20. Thanks Kraft, I didn't read the game notes (my bad), but I did hear it later during the game...I was relieved to say the least!
  21. All right, where is Weeks? He has been out for (I believe) 3 games now. Did I miss something?
  22. Why are the name fields so long? Or is it just my computer?
  23. Wow...maybe Jenkins should sit a bit longer. I thought his right side was his power side?
