Man, all I want to do is watch the game today, but I live in Houston and FOX has decided that we want to watch the Cubs and Cardinals game instead of the Brewers and Mets. If only we were playing that other New York team...I might actually get to watch them. And because of blackout restrictions I wont be able watch the game on MLB.tv either. Don't get me wrong, I will be listening to Uecker, but I just want to scream right now!!!!!

I live in Houston and also watch the games through MLB.tv. I am able to pick which broadcast I get (most of the time). I know it hasn't always been this way, but it is a nice new feature. I think I buy the highest level of MLB.tv though, so maybe that is why you are stuck with away feeds. I highly suggest upping the package next year.

Fair enough...but the Counsell bobblehead isn't because he is a key cog in the team, it is because he is/was a fan favorite.

How about that Jeffrey Hammonds bobblehead doll as a reminder of how far the lineup has come!!

Anyone notice the MiLB.com First Year Player Draft page? I can't help but think that the issue is with my computer and not with the actual site. Is it really still showing last years draft results, and last years signings? All I wanted to see is when the signing deadline was, and what first rounders still hadn't signed. So, as usual, I turn to you guys. I thought the deadline was today...but I know it is soon. When do we have to have our guys signed by? Aside from the top two (which we better sign), are there any others that you will be upset that we didn't sign? Edit... I found the issue. If you go to MiLB.com...hover over Events, and click on First Year Player Draft, it sends you tot he 2010 page...you can manually change the 2010 in your browser line to 2011 and the 2011 page loads. Funny broken link though http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Edit again... I see the signing deadline is...and always has been August 15th. Not sure how I changed it to August 8th in my head. Anyway, still interested in who you think we NEED to get signed.

Yeah, I saw that Everett was released. I personally would rather have him than BatterNineYouSucky or Wilson...but he certainly isn't great. I see him as a short term upgrade (addition by subtraction?) or something to bluff other GMs into thinking that we aren't totally desperate for a shortstop.

Best line ever! Thank you Bernman23 for making me laugh out loud!!

Chapman threw 3 pitches yesterday, bit different than Axford. Baker is also known for killing his pitchers so I wouldn't use him as my role model. Fair enough, and I did think about Dusty's track record before I posted, but I still don't see why Either Loe or Axford or both couldn't have pitched another inning. I understand that doing so doesn't guarantee a victory, and it very well could have turned out poorly as well, but I still don't understand the "only one inning" mentality.

Baker didn't have a problem leaving Chapman in for another inning...now he has Cordero left to close tithe game out. There is no reason why Loe or Axford couldn't have pitched a second inning. Hawkins gets a pass since he just came off of the DL.

    Welcome back Corey Hart!!!
  14. Cyanogen5
I love Weeks, but would it kill him to cut down on the strikeouts? It is so frustrating to watch!

I hear J J Hardy may be available!

Why play the infield in there...I understand you don't want to give up a run on an infield grounder, but by pulling the infield in it makes it much more likely that that infield grounder sneakes through and becomes a two run single. I say get the out...we were already down by four.

This doesn't say that they can't eat them...it just says that they won't be provided by the team. It also says that they can't store the stuff in team containers. I would hope that the team does purchase "healthy" snack foods and keep them in those team refrigerators, etc. Does anyone know if this is true?
  18. Cyanogen5
Now we are at 41%...good luck the rest of the way!!!

As the giants have been relatively inept with the bat this post season and have advanced to the World Series based on their pitching, do you think they would be interested in a Fielder for Bumgarner trade? Bumgarner looks to be a pretty good lefty starter and may be a good piece of a package to get for Fielder. I am not sure what else SF has to offer.
  20. Cyanogen5
    Bump!! 2 teams remaining!!!!

Please send me a message if you are interested. There are four teams available.

I heard on XM radio this morning that the Brewers would probably have to go to a sixth year in order to get CC to sign. I am not sure if I believe that would get it done, but I think I would be OK with it.

Hello all, I am attempting to design a database for work, and I need to be able to import data. I want to use a command button to be able to browse for a file, and then add that data to the table. As a bonus, it would be great if I could choose to import specific ranges of data, but that can be gotten around in other ways. If anyone can help me out, I would appreciate it. I am not a programmer, just a novice guy who volunteered for this project!! Thanks in advance!

Thanks zzzman, funny how I missed the ESPN link...I almost never go there anymore, so I didn't even think to check there.
