I wouldn't say he looked "lost" at the plate. In fact, for a young hitter looking to make an impression (i assume), Gamel put together a high number of quality at-bats. Certainly more than the "seasoned veteran" that is Corey Hart. I don't have the numbers on hand, but I would think he is in the high 3's, if not low 4's, as far as average pitches seen per at-bat.

My new favorite is also my tag. BA from last year against St. Louis: "And Braun, deep into left field, he loves it!"

We need to get off the ledge a little. Remember, this was Mark A's first taste of the postseason as an owner. I don't think he wants to switch to the poorly-spiked Kool-Aid. Doug has always found the light at the end and Mark has shown the propensity to allow him to do what needs to be done. It's still early in the offseason. Much can happen.

Word from MLBTradeRumors is the deal is "remote", word from Joel Sherman. On an aside, the Peavy talks are dead, per Kevin Towers. small paragraph from the story suggests Melvin is astute to this also: "And since the Brewers are already furious at how much money the Yankees guaranteed to take CC Sabathia away from them, Milwaukee officials find it laughable that they would pay the Yankees anything to send the ace lefty's pal, Cameron, to New York."

I know it's a long shot for a couple reasons: 1. It's his first year in the OF 2. In an absolute case of outmoded ideas, it usually goes to CF's But, according to what I've read he led MLB OF's with a 1.000 FP, led NL OF's with 275 putouts, was 2nd in Range Factor (1.95), 4th is assists (9), all in 1310.1 innings. I remember a few times Cirillo was overlooked due to inferior offensive numbers (regardless of the name of the award, we all know that factors in), but that shouldn't be a problem for Braunie. Obviously, with more experience he'll start getting to balls better and will become more comfortable with dives and angles. Biased opinion, but I think he absolutely deserves to be recognized for switching positions and excelling at that new position.

If this keeps up I'm going to get seriously emotional. I can't wait to take the wife to the final two home games against the ScRubs. Braun is a man-child. BTW no web gem for the sliding catch in the bottom of 8...
