  1. Agreed, much rather have Weeks hit #2
  2. The thought crossed my mind as well to hold Greinke for Sunday. However pitching Marcum on 3 days rest doesn't make me feel very comfortable. I'd much rather have Narvy pitch than Marcum.
  3. Lucroy, Hart, and Weeks have really hurt us in the playoffs with their lack of production.
  4. When you have a chance to get a runner in scoring position, you take it even if it means Fielder gets walked. You just need someone besides Braun and Fielder to come through.
  5. We are reactionary because we know this is short series and every play is magnified. Difficult to be positive when you get down 4-0 with your ace on the mound knowing that we are throwing a lefty who got lit up his last game, followed by a pitcher in game 5 that has a social anxiety disorder and may not react well to needing to win a game down 3-1,
  6. How is it misleading? The thread title has a question mark at the end basically saying "I wonder if this is really true?" After all the article starts out, "Jose Reyes has said Ryan Braun gave him a recruiting pitch for the Milwaukee Brewers at the All-Star Game. And Milwaukee's interest apparently is sincere. " How do you know the comments were taken out of context? They may have been but you can't be sure of that.
  7. Interesting comments by Braun. I guess I'd rather throw a few extra dollars at Prince. http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/35828/reyes-more-likely-a-brewer-in-12-than-fielder
  8. A few stand out for me: -1992-Yount's 3000th hit -1990-Nolan Ryan's 300th win against the Brewers. Ryan was one of my favorite players growing up. -1979- Brewers vs. Yankees. Mike Caldwell came in high and tight against Reggie Jackson. The next pitch Jackson popped up and headed straight to the mound to attack Caldwell. Bench clearing brawl followed. Cecil Cooper hit a walk off HR in the bottom of the 9th (his 3rd HR of the game) to win it. -1975 saw Hank Aaron's 740th HR
  9. Printed tickets have always worked in the past I don't know why they wouldn't work for a playoff game.
  10. I won as well but it doesn't appear that we are guaranteed tix, only that we made it through step one. Any idea how much the tix are going to cost?
  11. I think Kotsay has been a good addition. He has produced in the clutch late in several games. Don't know why you are hoping he is on the way out.
  12. Not a big fan of bunting over to 3rd with no outs. Rather have 3 cracks to score from 2nd.
  13. I was thinking the same thing. Instead as expected Counsell does nothing with a pop up.
  14. That last AB was brutal. He didn't look like he wanted to face Coco.
  15. The Vegas economy is really hurting. One of the highest umemployment rates in the country. At the present time they wouldn't get any public funding for a stadium and someone would have to be willing to finance the entire thing. In Vegas that is possible, but I can't remember a completely privately financed stadium recently anywhere in the country.
  16. I've decided my next goal in life is to get to all of the MLB parks. I've been to 19 so far (5 of them now extinct) and am always looking for trips that can include more parks. I think Wrigley, Yankee Stadium (the original), Fenway have to be judged differently than the newer parks simply because of their historical value. It's been 15 years since I've been to Fenway and I would love to go back. Of the recent parks I've been to I would rank the top as follows: 1. Target Field. I loved this place. From the best food options I've seen to the design of the park. 2. PNC Park. As many have mentioned walking across Clemente Bridge was cool. Too bad the tenants are so bad. 3. Coors Field- Right in the heart of downtown Denver. 4. ATT Park. Neat setting (not along the Ocean as someone else said but instead right on San Francisco Bay). McCovey Cove struck me as being smaller than I expected but still pretty cool 5. Comerica Park Detroit- I liked all of the Tigers around the stadium. 6. Safeco Field Seattle The worst 2 are unquestionably Miami (Pro Player, Dolphin Stadium, Landshark, Joe Robbie or whatever the hell they call that place now) and the DumptyDome. Others I've been to: Fenway, Yankee, Wrigley, Miller Park, County Stadium, old Busch, Progressive Field in Cleveland, US Cellular, Great American (Cincinnati), old Arlington Stadium, Kaufmann Stadium in KC. This summer the plan is to knock off New Yankee Stadium and CitiField.
  17. 2 weeks ago I attended a Cleveland Indians game where catcher Mark Redman was thrown out at 1st base with the bases loaded on a 1 hop liner to right field. I had never seen that before in a major league game. Little League yes, Majors no. l was also at both Robin Yount's 3000th hit and Nolan Ryan's 300th win.
  18. Has Kendall ever been pinch hit for? I would have preferred Rivera hit for Kendall and Cattanalotto hit where Rivera did. I have no use for Kendall at the plate late in a game.
