  1. He's just a battler... he's going to go out there and battle.
  2. My Favorite Linup (still) Would Be: 1. Weeks 2. Braun / Prince 3. Hardy / Cameron 4. Prince / Braun 5. Hart 6. Hall 7. Cameron / Hardy 8. Pitcher 9. Kendall Out of 1-5, 3 should NOT be your best hitter... but actually, your worst. 1 = Best OBP, 2 = Best Contact/Good OBP, 4 Best SLG.
  3. 1. Muscle is not on top of fat... 2. Have you googled the pictures or are you going off of what you've seen on tv, or in person? Google the pictures from last year, or in Nashville, and the pics from this year. He really doesn't look any different... Your mind has the preception he was "big, but more muscley" last year beacuse he was hitting bombs. This year your mind has the preception that he's "sloppy fat" because his power numbers are way down and because we all heard about his new diet. Guaranteed most people wouldn't be thinking this if his numbers were where they should be - because the preception would still be there that he has muscle because he can hit. He's always been a big guy, he still is a big guy, and he will still be a big guy years from now. Apparently whether that's muscle or fat will vary based on his production that year.
  4. I see what you guys are saying. I just don't think his motive was to cherry pick like that. Then again I'm just guessing, trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  5. People use selective end points when they: 1. Wish to point out something because it's interesting and/or surprising 2. They have a conclusion and are trying to create evidence to support it. I have no problem 1. but shake my head at 2.. It's just not objective. I actually believe it is more of number 1 with him because he didn't cherry pick. Picking the last 162 games isn't really trying to create evidence. I mean, it's not even an arbitrary number... it's the number of games in a season. If he was cherry picking months than I could see nunmber 2. I think he just found it interesting that if the last 162 games was the full season, the Brew would be that bad.
  6. Underachieving? Sure, but why would be expect guys like Weeks, Hall, Cameron, Kendall, and Hardy to be hitting better than they are? This is who they are. Where do you get this from? Career stats indicate this is not at all who they are, aside from Kendall & Cameron. Weeks, Hall, and Hardy should all be hitting better than they are. Just because guys like Villy and Parra have talent, I never expected them to be great starting pitchers- at least not yet. Neither has dazzling stuff. This may be true for Villy, but let's be honest... Parra on his game is definitely dazzling. The guy has 4 different fastballs he can throw for strikes, not to mention his off speed stuff. Gagne was left for dead, and had a nice little run in TX. I never expected him to be a reliable closer. Gagne is 2 years removed from surgery now, which generally is the year a bounce-back occurs... and if you've watched any of the games you can see he is actually throwing the ball pretty well. I don't really have a doubt that if he were used the same as most closers, he could easily be counted on... but when we're in this many freaking close games to where he's pitching 4+ days in a row, of course eventually he'll let one slip.
  7. Jr... Slow down buddy. You're not making people upset because you don't support the Brewers, or the Brewers players... you're making them upset because you fail to listen to anything that disagrees with what you say, even after being completely proven wrong. You keep throwing up the same BA arguement even after being told numerous times that BA isn't even a good tool to measure with. Why don't you take a moment to read the posts and reflect before lashing out... thanks!
  8. "But his BA and K tendency are unacceptable for a player who's supposedly that talented" Didn't we already say throw BA out the window? Why look at BA when you can look at OBP? The ability to get on base is what's important (especially in a lead-off role). A single is no better than a walk, but one adds to your batting average and the other doesn't. And as for K's... to be honest, strikeouts don't really bother me all that much if you're putting up good OBP and SLG. I'd rather have a strikeout than ground into a DP.
  9. It didn't seem to me like his velocity was down... 91-93 consistently seems pretty normal for Gagne nowadays. I also didn't think either of those were terrible pitches and most of the time wouldn't be homeruns to those very same players.
  10. It is interesting that he was one of the best hitters in college history and has changed his swing though... don't you think? Why not change it back to when you were at your best?
  11. There was a thread before the season started asking people on here to predict the Brewers month of April knowing we would be without some key players. If I remember correctly, most of the predictions were .500 or less, with a just over. So the concensus was we would be playing .500 baseball. So basically, if we all knew the Brew would be playing .500 baseball through the month of April... and obviously didn't predict major slumps from most of our best hitters; than I think we should all be pretty happy with the start so far, don't you think?
  12. Haha, welcome to the bigs Hurricane.
  13. "We need our best pitcher all year not just in april. fresh pen, 3 run lead, pitch count high, 3rd start of season after a CG. STUPID" Maybe, but Sheets has been a work horse when he hasn't been injured. I'm sure he can handle the inning.
  14. There we go. Next... Gagne... let's go buddy.
  15. Shouse is on today... this should be one batter and done.
  16. yeah shouse and mota are in the pen.
  17. Really? Hart has scored a decent amount of runs this year... he has been a tremendous base runner.
  18. Even if there was a double steal called... most likely Yost wasn't the one who called it.
